“BEWARE OF AMERICAN AIRLINE SCAMMING”

written by nancyleonard on 19/12/2017

I had a horrible experience with American Airlines with flight number 779 last Dec 15, 2017. I had a flight from LAX to SAT with a connecting flight in Phoenix. I checked in my 3 luggages that cost me $210 and I had a small roller bag that served as a hand-carry on luggage. I was asked by the person at the check in counter if I had any valuables inside my 3 bags and I said NO. Upon queuing to go inside the plane, I was told by a ground attendant of AA that was an african-american lady that gave me a claim tag that my hand-carry on bag won't fit anymore because there was no space. My bag was taken from me by a uniformed cargo personnel that was Caucasian, had a slim built body, tall, and had the age within his 40s. When we landed in Phoenix, I immediately asked the ground attendant from the exit; "...where is my handcarry on bag?" and he said that "it's going to be in San Antonio, don't worry because it's going to be safe." I continued to go to my next flight which was going to San Antonio. We finally landed and I went to the baggage carousel and yes I saw my 3 bags and my handcarry on bag. It took me awhile to realize that something was missing because I wasn't thinking of work and travelling from one place to another cn be so stressful. When sunday morning came, I finally decided to open my handcarry on(small luggage) and when I opened it, my laptop bag was missing that had my Dell IN 5559, canon g7x mark ii, mini joby gorillapod hybrid flexible mini-tripod with ball head, the canon camera charger, 128gb sd card, 2 canon cam batteries and an an ipad 2. I already spoke to an AA customer service rep and he is giving me 45 days to give all the reqs to reimburse all the items that were missing. These all will consume so much time because I got them all in the Philippines and some of the stores are already closed. This incident is unacceptable and a criminal act and should highly be given attention.
