“I received an email thanking me for renewing my...”

I received an email thanking me for renewing my policy.

I had not renewed my policy and immediately emailed back to say so, with the clear instruction not to take any money out of my account as I no longer use the vehicle, which is off the road.

They took over £250 out if my account a few hours later.

The next day, when I noticed, I called to get the money immediately transferred back by electronic transfer as I needed the money to get a train ticket and to pay my phone bill that was due to go out of my account at midnight the same day.

The lady in the phone, who I won't name just yet, told the usual story of it "taking 3 to 5 days to come back to you". I helpfully explained that the refund via PDQ can be cancelled and an immediate electronic transfer begun.

She disagreed.

I explained how a DDOS attack works and gave 1 hour to put the money back into my account.

Five minutes later I received a phone call asking for my sort code and account number so that they could do an immediate electronic transfer of the money they had taken.

That was 5 minutes ago so as it stands they have 50 minutes for my account balance to be correct.

Don't accept their stories that they cannot return the money they take immediately. They can, and anyone with DOS or DDOS programs is able to force their hands.

Horrific company.
