“I asked for this for christmas as I've heard such...”

written by 02grisf on 28/12/2010

I asked for this for christmas as I've heard such great things about the perfume and I was taken in by the advertising campaign of 'childhood memories'. I genuinely thought this perfume would be great for me.

However, having received it for christmas I tried it on and despite my absolute best efforts and expectation to like it, I found that it was a very sickly sweet, somewhat-nauseating smell that simply would not go away. I sprayed it on my wrist to test it and and I was actually quite embarrassed about how bad it was- everyone in the room was pulling faces as a result of its stench. It was bought from a london department store so I know it is the real perfume I'm reviewing.

Days later I actually tried it again but every one of my friends thinks its as revolting as I do- a sickly sweet, incredibly heavy perfume and quite frankly there is nothing remotely classy about it. It must be one of those love or hate things, but everyone who has smelt this thinks it smells really cheap and tacky. I would not dream of giving this to anyone as a gift. If only such a beautiful bottle that it is in could have been used for a perfume that wasn't quite so repulsive.
