Good Points
Performance by Dev Patel (ex-Skins) was very good, portraying an unlikely winner in life but someone with great tenacity and sense of purpose. Filming in Mumbai (Bombay) was frighteningly real with horrendous closeness to slums and slum life. Characters were all very credible, including the falseness of the presenter of the tv studio.
Bad Points
None really. Violence and unpleasantness unfortunate but not overdone given the theme of the film.
General Comments
An engaging film with an endearing main character and strong support. Very realistic (I presume) glimpse into the life of the slums of Bombay and an interesting glance into its transformation into modern Mumbai. Human interest (love story etc) also strong. There are moments of humour and the film is far from depressing and certainly doesn't drag. Lots of action and certainly worth seeing.
