“What I seriously recommend about Tamuning Guam, is it...”

written by travelboy on 20/11/2008

Good Points
If you're into water sports, beach holidays and wondering how to keep the kids amused while you're hoping to chill out, then I seriously recommend PIC Guam.
Basically I was a single going with 2 mothers and 3 children.

Bad Points
I had a problem when I got to the hotel and what I recommend is this. Look at the room with the concierge and if the room is to your liking grab it. Some rooms [of my mates] were a bit old and decorated in a more classical style. They do have more modern rooms so, insist - like I did and I got a more of a modern room!
I'd look at the buffet lounge and find a best time to suit you to eat. Sometimes it was crowded, especially with kids. But if you're used to that, and it is a resort after all.. why go otherwise?

General Comments
What I seriously recommend about Tamuning Guam, is it is full of waterslides, pools, kayaks and most things water related. It keeps the kids active all day so it means you could leave them with minimal supervision as they go off and play. There's a kids club and this keeps the kids safe so you can pop off for a drink when they're being supervised by someone working there.
There's tonnes of restaurants 6 or 7 I think and although there's business features to the hotel [wifi and meeting rooms] the main focus is as an encompassing resort. This means I spent most of the time at the bar, at the pool and.... back at the bar. My friends disappeared off to their SPA for a few hours and came back well oiled and freshened up. They commented that the prices were reasonable and it was as good as some high-end London SPAs, so I took it as a compliment.
With the room [read bad points] it was changed around with minimal fuss and the front desk were very helpful throughout the stay. Anyway, bottom line if you're going to an exotic country what you're after is getting out into the sun. Face it, you go away with kids who'll love all the facilities and the last thing they want to do is sleep or play in the room.
