General Comments
It was 4 years ago (1999) I visited Florida for the first time with my family. Although I was only 10, I still remember the somewhat unfortunate experience of staying in the so-called '4 point/star' Sheraton Lakeside in Kissimee. The second time I went to the sunshine state I stayed at the Disney's Port Orleans Resort, which I also wrote a review on! :) Next year, I'm visiting again, and also the west side of the U.S (including Nevada and California) so expect loads more American hotel reviews from me soon! :) Lol.

Anyway, we arrived in the hotel, and the grounds were really lovely, but the room was filthy! It had cigarette burns in the furniture, muck on the carpet, the beds were lumpy, the toilet and bathroom area totally stank of urine. We were disgusted...4 star hotel? You must be joking! And to top it off, instead of the 'beautiful view of the hotel grounds' we were promised, we had building work going on all day and half the nigh! (Although we weren't often in the room in the day) We were moved to a different room after complaining about the practically inhumane accommadation we were being forced to stay in. It wasn't as bad and we had a pool right outside our room. However, after 1:00am and an angry phone call to the front desk, we discovered to our growing horror that it was an 'all-night' pool.

However, the resort wasn't totally bad. There was a nice buffet style restaurant which was okay and not too crowded and a decent pizzeria. There was also a kids play area and games room (arcade) which my sister and I loved, being only 10 and 7.

The reason I gave the resort 9 stars was because of the easy accessibility, beautiful grounds and location. It was quite near everything, but not so near we were swamped with traffic. There was ample parking, and a load of restaurants and breakfast buffets a short walk away.

It may have improved, but I doubt it. However, Virgin have brought the rating down to 3 stars, although in my opinion its barely worthy of 2 stars, but like I said, things could of got better...they couldn't possibly have gotten worse...
