Good Points
Small, light, a metal foot with fast recycling time
Bad Points
Not as powerful as other bigger 4 battery flashs
General Comments
This flash is great, its the same type and size as the nikon sb 23..
Its all auto, stick it on any digital nikon or fuji slr and away you go.
It has a tilting head so that you can use it as a bounce flash to soften the flash for portraiture work.
Runs on 2 aa batteries with very fast recycling time so for fast close up photojournalism its great.. ie if your photos are not good you are not close enough, use that very expensive zoom system called your feet.
Try framing your photo then move three steps forward, the picture will improve greatly and the sb 400 will give fill and catch lite in the subjects eyes.
A little bit pricey but if you shop around you can get a good price.
Also i find with younger people it doesn't seem as threatening as a much bigger flash can do on camera.
