Luxor, St Joseph Hotel

The St Joseph Hotel is a great base if you want to visit the surrounding historic sites. The staff just could not be any more helpful, and the food is excellent. It is a 10 minute walk from Luxor temple, and the local travel companies (we recommend Thomas Cook). The view of the Nile from the roof-top is superb. The view from the rooms is more restricted, dependent upon which floor you are on. We were on the 2nd floor and had a very limited Nile view - however, we had a highly entertaining view of the Luxor traffic which kept us amused for hours! The St Joseph is rated 3 star, so don't expect the height of luxury, but if you are after a clean, basic hotel, with friendly staff, very good food, and all at a very reasonable price - this is the place to stay!
