Rogue Warrior: Holy Terror Richard Marcinko A

Rogue Warrior: Holy Terror

Richard Marcinko and Jim DeFelice

Atria, Jul 2006, $25.00

ISBN 0743422481

Tired of pampering and pabulum from leaders, Red Cell International CEO Dick Marcinko begins a tirade speech to the NATO attendees at a security conference. He insists they either get tough on the war on terrorism or admit defeat as their side is losing because the adversary will do anything while our side pretends to fight civilized. However, in the middle of his speech the always alert Marcinko notices a waiter in the back of the room acting odd. He continues his talk observing the waiter carefully until Marcinko suddenly stops for a nanosecond to shoot the waiter just before the terrorist was to toss a grenade at the audience.

However, there is no rest for the weary as not long afterward nuns with submachine guns open fire at St. Peter's Church, which "Demo" Dick takes care of. Before he can blink he is abducted to Sicily to look into stolen nukes starting a global hopping frantic race against terrorists with plans to destroy St. Peter's of Rome.

Forget pace or deceleration as this Rogue Warrior adventure starts faster than the speed of light and from there accelerates. The above paragraphs are the opening segues of a non-stop action-packed thriller that never slows down for more than a sentence, make that a dependent phrase. Fans of the series or anyone who appreciates action at a pace that makes Schwarzenegger movies appear as slows as a snail will fasten their seat belt and join Marcinko and his fellow Rogue warriors in their latest battle this time against Holy Terror.
