“I have subscribed to BBC Good Food Magazine since 1993...”

I have subscribed to BBC Good Food Magazine since 1993 but have recently ended my subscription in 2008. Unfortunately for me the magazine has become too 'trendy' and has moved too far away from proper home cooking. Recipes now call for ingredients to be 'thrown' or 'splashed' in (what's wrong with using plain English) and invariably involve using something that is ready-made such as sauces or bagged ready prepared veg. The emphasis now seems very much on saving time which comes at the price of costing more. Also ready-made tends to have poorer quality ingredients and more calories. Having said that, the recipes do work and I still regularly cook my favourites and would recommend them.
