My Indesit Dv62ix Dishwasher Has Had A New Motor W
My Indesit DV62IX dishwasher has had a new motor within 6 months. It has broken down 4 times in 2 years. It is fantastic at not washing items on the top draw and baking food on. Loose parts inside, drawers coming off due to runner stops falling off. Wheels falling off cages, and the door does not shutting properly. There is also a collection of some sort of growth at the bottom of the door seal, even though it is scrubbed out. It uses more salt than a chippie, and the powder compartment opens when it feels like it. My opinion is don't buy one!!!!

Indesit Dv62ix - I Had This Product For Exactly A
Indesit DV62IX - I had this product for exactly a year and during that time I have experienced 4 cracked fascia's / handles which I was told by the Indesit / Merloni engineer was probably due to my long nails (they are short!). The normal wash cycle seems to go on for an age, approx 2hrs! It doesn't clean properly or dry properly and is very noisy.
I have also had problems with the top basket which, when loaded and pulled out to be emptied, would fall forward on one side where the end caps failed to retain the basket. The end caps were replaced but did not resolve the problem.
The final straw came when my epic 2 hour cycle turned into a never ending cycle.
Indesit / Merloni the manufacturers were not helpful at all basically implying that either I was imagining these problems or that they just didn't exist.
I have now got my money back as The Co-op Electrical Online Store, where I purchased the dishwasher, have given me my money back. Indesit admit no responsibility still.
Conclusion - AVOID this product at all costs, and if you've already bought one, GET YOUR MONEY BACK!
I would certainly try and get your money back if possible. I bought mine through Coop Electrical who pushed the issue with Merloni/Indesit but to no avail. The Coop agreed to take back the Indesit and gave me a good deal on a Bosch. The Bosch is fantastic, quiet, cleans really well and no broken handles!
Good Luck!
I can certainly echo your comments on the cracked handles, 2 in the first year! We were told to make sure we opened the door with two or more fingers. It still broke. There's an obvious design flaw here but Indesit don't seem interested.

Bought This Indesit Dv621x Machine A While Ago To
Bought this Indesit DV621X machine a while ago to replace a clapped-out 'fitted in' dishwasher in our new house. This machine was one of the few 'slot under' available quickly and, having had no problems with Indesit before, we took this one. BIG MISTAKE. It took ages to fit in, the door panel fitting was like something from the Krypton Factor and the ensuing performance did not make up for it. As the other review, the handle soon split, you have to basically ram the door shut to get the machine to operate and then, when it starts, it sounds like a fullen laden 747 taking off....for nearly two hours. There are basically two wash settings only - quick (and rubbish) or very, very, very slow with umpteen pre-washes, main wash, God knows how many rinses and a drying cycle that lasts long enough to cause a national power crisis. The rotor arm is tempramental and if the load is slightly off balance, the arm stops twirling, resulting in 'baked on' food because of the amazingly long drying cycle. I've ended up drawing marks around the dial so we can force the machine to do just a main wash, rinse and dry in about an hour. The machine IS working, it's just very bad at it. When funds allow, it will be replaced by the updated version of my previous beloved Zanussi machine (aren't Indesit and Zanussi supposed to be the same people?). Avoid this machine at all costs - it's quicker, cheaper and uses a whole lot less water if you wash up in the sink!
I agree with the writer of this review. I have had one for exactly a year and since day one experienced the 2 hour wash cycle, 4 cracked handles, dishes that come out as dirty as they went in, tremendous noise, I have also had problems with the top basket always falling forward when loaded as one side fails to stop at the end caps. It also doesn't dry properly. The final straw came when the marathon 2 hour cycle turned into a never-ending cycle. I have managed, fortunately, after 2 months of phone calls, to get my money back. DON'T buy it!

Alarm Bells Began To Ring 3 Days After My Indesit
Alarm bells began to ring 3 days after my Indesit DV62IX was installed and the water circulator kept falling off - leaving everything on the top shelf dirty.
A new part was fitted and then it was ok.
But then after a month, the machine wouldn't start. Turned out to be a faulty door catch.
A couple of weeks after that and the fault appeared again. Faulty door catch again.
Two months later and the door catch stopped the machine from operating again. And the cheap plastic handle just split in two.
The handle was replaced under warranty and the door catch was fixed again.
Five months after purchase, the door catch jammed, allowing the machine to be opened while it was still operating - spraying hot water all over my three year old son who opened the door momentarily - it could have been worse.
The store has agreed to take it back and exchange for another model. Indesit were not as accomodating.
