Siemens Sx-56 Yesterday I Had A Fully Operat
SIEMENS SX-56
Yesterday I had a fully operational SX-56 wireless phone. For those of you on T-mobile or AT&T Wireless . . . read on. I received an e-mail message instructing me to upgrade my operating system. I began this process. By the way - when you download the upgrade you are bombarded with three red bold messages stating that the upgrade will cause you to lose all your data . . . that was an understatement. Shortly after beginning the first phase of the upgrade - the software locked up my phone. I followed all of Siemen's instructions, including the soft reboot etc, to no avail. Today I called Siemen's customer support line. They had me complete a hard reset. The phone is now completely inoperable. The Siemen's customer support rep apologized and suggested that I had two choices. I could send the phone back to Siemens and I they would fix the phone and return it . . . this would take 3 to 4 weeks! Choice two was that I could take my phone to AT&T and rely on their "mercy". What would you do? When I asked to speak with Kenneth the supervisor they replied that he was in a meeting, but he would return my call within 48 hours. I suggested to them that I would continue posting my "experience" on every bulletin board, message service, or forum I could find until they call me back. It's now been 4 hours later . . . still no call. Apparently saving $400 or preserving their "policy" is more important to them than taking care of their customers.
The same happened to me. I actually just did a hard reboot, let the phone sit for 24 hours, hotsync'd, reinstalled upgrad, started upgrade all over again - round two success! It took about 30 min.
