Maybe My Review Is A Bit Unfair. Having Purch
Maybe my review is a bit unfair.
Having purchased this second hand car, mondeo ghia 04 plate, just prior to Christmas i have had lots of trouble.
Sadly, I purchased the car thinking that the drive on starting the car in the early cold mornings was a bit juddery due to the engine being cold.
Realise that this is not the case, more likely the injectors are on the way out.
Prolonging its life with the deisel additives you can buy at most auto shops, as these assist with cleaning the engine and reducing the black plumes of smoke from the exhaust.
But think that my £2400 investment has another 3 or so months of life left.
Of course, I purchased a 'wrong un' but trust this review will alert those thinking of such a purchase on what to be aware of.

When Its Running Its Swift Comfy And The Ghia X Is
When its running its swift comfy and the ghia x is stylish and has plenty of kit. However it is far too unreliable and badly engineered.
A week after i got it the back box of the exhaust fell off when i was doing 60mph (45,000 miles on the clock) - only £45 for a new one but I had to wait for 2 days for ATS to get one. Then a few months after a turbo pipe split - £50 for a rubber tube and when the mechanic was looking for the split he found that one of the pulleys was disintegrating £120 for a new pully and tensioner. A week later and the car broke down on me. The AA man diagnosed a burnt out starter motor - a tow home and 4 days off the road. £110 for a starter motor £100 to fit - a common problem apparently debris coming of the flywheel contaminating the starter motor. In short 8 months of hassle when my previous Audi A4 gave me no more trouble than a blown headlamp. To cap it all I had it serviced at a Ford dealer and when I checked to see if they had changed the air filter a day later it was black and obviously had not been changed. I'm getting rid before the diesel injectors go (another common fault apparently). Last Ford I will ever buy!
I think I've just bought this car. Receipts in the glovebox all match the problems reported. Anything else I should know about or did everything that needed doing get done?

If Your Ford Mondeos Engine Works Well, Then It's
If your Ford Mondeos engine works well, then it's a good car. If you have problems, then it becomes very expensive as only specialist Ford dealers seem to know how to fix it! Not your regular garage, which seems ever so strange.

Had 4 Of These Now 130 Bhp 2002's To 2004's All H
Had 4 of these now 130 bhp 2002's to 2004's
All have had the flashing warning light come on which = big money
Cost £100 for ford to tell you what is wrong which is usally injectors at 400+ each
Or if you are lucky a camshaft sensor part is 13 pounds to buy 3 mins to fit, ford will charge you 200
Apart from all this I still like them.

The Ford Mondeo Tdci Is A Great Car To Be On A Mot
The Ford Mondeo TDCi is a great car to be on a motorway with. Easy to drive, handles well and lugs around kids and luggage without issue. Lots of space! It has the power to overtake and comfort and ease of driving. Also has auto wipers and lights which is handy. The only thing I don't like is it doesn't have front parking sensors but it's a great car!

Had The Ford Mondeo 2.0 Tdci 130 Ghia X Est From N
Had the Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCi 130 Ghia X Est from new as company vehicle for 16 month now, and can only say that although I was aprehensive about having one of these vehicles (as depicted by company policy) my mind was soon changed. I have driven 41,000 miles during the last 14 month and can only say that it is the best diesel i have ever driven performance wise and can suprise a few people at the lights who think this is just another load lugger.
Very comfortable and enough room for a tribe. Load capacity is superb and reliablility is v. good although I have read reports of stalling etc down to engine management, can only say that mine has never had any probs whatsoever. Front tyres just ready for changing and rear tyres are good for another 30 thou.
I found this review helpful because...Owner has covered a high mileage and given fair feedback regarding his experience.
