Minolta Dimage 7i

Outstanding quality at the price. Close to SLR performance at the time and very good lens, Rest is SLR quality. Tough fast camera for the field use, common batteries and chips. The Minolta Dimage 7i outperformed the competitors at that time in my opinion. Also IR photography compatible.

if you are thinking of giving up film then this camera is a good choice. very sharp pics, and all the benefits of digital for sending pics to friends etc. lots of different settings to use which you need to spend time with on the first day but after that its very easy and results are good without trying. it has a small flash built in but to take good pics in low light museums eg rest it some where and fire it with the timer. brilliant.

I had one of the first 7i's on sale....it's been almost 7 months I've had the 7i...I haven't noticed it thrashing the batteries at all...but I am using 1850 and 2000 ma, image is dangerously close to 35mm and I've astounded many with some of the images...I owned a Nikon 950 that was brill...but thrashed the batteries...and an Olympus C4040 that was dog rough..I kept that for 3 weeks it was useless...maybe a Friday one !!! The 7i blows it off the planet for image res.

I cannot speak highly enough of this Minolta Dimage 7i digital camera and I am now a digital convert. The quality of pictures is outstanding and the ease of taking exceptional pictures has found me clicking at basically anything that moves. The 7x zoom is a must have and the feature rich content of this camera has me eager to push it to its limits... which may take some time!
