My stupid HP Jornada 568 64MB Pocket PC started giving me the problem of not synchronizing with my PC or other PCs. I tried reinstalling all software, re booting the damned thing won't sync not with Active Sync old nor new versions. This piece of crud PDA is really getting on my nerves. I will never buy another Microsoft, HP/ Compaq PC or PDA. Nextime I will go with sony

One Problem With The Hp 568 That I Can't Stand Is

One problem with the HP 568 that I can't stand is that when you browse the internet (open explorer) the images are not shown and you have to manually select each image and click show image to be able to see it. my friend has an IPAQ and he doesn't have the problem. Anyone knows how to fix this?

I waited over one month for stock, before i got this unit.

I choosed this unit because of the memory (64megs) and the back up battery. The battery life is excellent, and the safe restore after doing a backup really works. The color is very good, but the casio had a better visual. I loved the size and the protective cover for the screen the unit incorporates. I loved the design and choose it over most of the other available models out there. The biggest failing is that the unit some how gets massive amounts of dust under the screen, that cannot be removed by the user.

I gave this unit a failing grade because of the dust problem and my dealings with hp's support.

The lousiest of the Microsoft lineup. (In relative terms; some s*** stinks worse than others). Wince (such an apposite name) regularly hangs or gives useless error messages. ("The file cannot be copied." - what's that mean? Is it MPAA copy-protected? Don't think so, it's my document!)

I've used this for a few months and it has *never* lived up to the marque of "Professionalism". Support is lousy. Dear God I wish a *real* company (e.g. RedHat) had been given the contract to make the OS for HP handhelds!!!

Wince is flaky & useless, but the real fool is myself. To even *think* that a Microsoft product would be of any more use on a handheld device than on a desktop is to have lost my mind. What was I *thinking*????!!!!!

The only thing my family & friends can do is *never* buy another product which has any Microsoft software on it again.

That, we can very gladly arrange Mr Gates. You will have to get the money for your Gucci spectacles from somewhere else.

Long live Linux!

This HP 568 PDA is an outstanding piece of work that truly is brilliant. I don't think I have had a better palm pilot ever. This is a top class piece of work.

Once Operation Is Learned And One Knows How To Dea

Once operation is learned and one knows how to deal with the short comings of the hp jornada 568 Pocket PC, it is an excellent tool that can take pictures, tape meetings and make notes all on the same device. HP should provide a longer battery life with the unit. It is expensive enough to have to dish out another $100 USD for an extra battery.

The Hp Jornada 568 Is A Lovely Palmtop With The Ex

The HP Jornada 568 is a lovely palmtop with the exception of one thing... The screen is prone to dust problems, that is dust getting between the two layers of the screen so you can't clean it out!

I am now on my FIFTH unit with the problem!!!!!

I was told by HP that the new units were ok and they exchanged my old one for a "brand new unit guaranteed to have no dust issues". GUESS WHAT???????

The new unit has also developed the problem. Suprise suprise!

If I'd have known all of this before, I'd have bought a COMPAQ. Definitely a COMPAQ.

I Brought This Hp568 Pda To Replace My Psion Serie

I brought this HP568 PDA to replace my Psion Series 5MX. The HP568 is remarkable. It works perfectly with numerous programmes open at once and is very easy and quick to use.

The software is excellent and there is some useful software installed. Word and Explorer are particularly good. It is very useful that Targus keyboard software is already installed. Activesync works very well and it is very easy to download software.

The picture is excellent and the memory very good. I have added a 256MB card to the compact flash card.

It works very well for infrared wireless connections with a mobile phone. I have three email accounts and two internet providers that all work and are easy to set up. With my Ericcson T39, I use both GPRS and HSCSD that work perfectly and mean I can read mobile internet very quickly.

Also, the machine is very light and is slick ergonomically well designed. The protective cse cover and silver casing looks very good and protects the machine.

All in all, a remarkable machine - one of the best ever PDA's I have ever had.
