Whirlpool Has A Problem With Their Machines Rustin

Whirlpool has a problem with their machines rusting. I cannot believe that all of this enamel is flaked and falling into the machine. We are only a family of 3 and do not use the machine more than once a week. I paid $500 for it and now it will have to go into a landfill due to the rusting. There is nothing wrong with the mechanical parts of this machine and that makes Whirlpool NOT a GREEN Company! I will not buy any of their brands again.

I Wrote To Whirlpool Customer Service About My Phi

I wrote to Whirlpool customer service about my Philips Whirlpool ADP 952 WHM which was less than 2 years old developing rust. They said it may be due to the fact it was in my garage (this is where most washers & dryers are kept in Florida!) and then said it was not covered by warranty. In other words--- too bad! When I spoke to customer service rep, she said no one ever complained about rust!

Agree With Previous Reviewer - Both Whirlpool Wash

Agree with previous reviewer - both Whirlpool Washers and Dryers start to rust within a year. Whirlpool DOES NOT HONOR their 5 year rust warranty. An Amana set in the same location for TEN years did not have this problem. JUNK quality and broken promises for a premium price - AVOID WHIRLPOOL.

As Whirlpool Washing Machines Rust And Ruin Clothe

As Whirlpool washing machines rust and ruin clothes with rust stains we would never buy this product again. Whirlpool warranty will not stand behind their less than 5 yr. use product.

I Don't Know Why The Basket On Our Philips Whirlpo

I don't know why the basket on our Philips Whirlpool ADP 952 WHM dishwasher broke, but I feel that is minor. I would buy another Whirlpool.

When I First Bought This Philips Whirlpool I Thoug

When I first bought this Philips Whirlpool I thought:"How impressive! So much equipement and it's a budget dish washer!". It does it's job, but I already had some problems: water pump, programing module, salt sensor, detergent dispenser, and now the rust. A very beautiful machine, it does the job but I can't rely on it!

Not so happy to not be alone!

My ADP 952...

1 - Some 2 years after been bought, in Jan 2000, needed the lower sprayer; the controls gave malfunction and the technician said "it was an original defect on the sprayer, it's speed was not enough and then turn into error". Equals 51 Euros and some days without dishwasher.

2 - In 15 of June 2003, it was the time for the control unit: in the PCB, the connections on L(Line) and N(Neutral) were burnt. Later investigation showed that some other things are bad (resistor, capacitor, ?), as meant by a big difference in resistance between the N and one terminal of the DPM contacts, making the comparison with the damaged PCB and the new one. Equals 128,5 Euros, diagnostics and replacement done by me (so, no payment to the technician), 1 month without dishwasher. Major disadvantage: no circuit diagram. Help on an digital multimeter MASTECH mod MAS-345 and some rough control knowledge.

3 - In 19 July the Start lamp start flashing. The leaflet told it was a failure. I started investigation and found water in the lower basin, under all the controls, pump, valves, etc. As there is a flood sensor, may be it made the controls go to failure mode. I dried it, I made the reset (unplug and plug the mains + select bio-eco + push Start for more than 3 seconds + listen the pump + leave the Start button + listen the end of the pumping + (maybe the End light is ON) + put the program selector in zero and then Start any program in the typical way). It worked, but the water is, naturally, still dropping. So, soon, I have to make a complete revision on the sealings and hoses. It seems not to be dangerous, because the cabling is well done, in a safe mode.

I remain dreaming in having the circuit diagram. It wood help a lot.

My machine has the following service code: 8542 952 01010. The remainder bar code information says 33 9605 013970
