Pisa, Hotel Leonardo

We stayed here with Carefree Italy as a few days add on to a villa holiday and loved it. How they found it in the first place is beyond me. We were lucky we booked a cab from the airport! They recommended the trattoria around the corner and having eaten there 3 times we can wholeheartedly recommend it for atmosphere, price and taste. The Leonardo was friendly, clean and cheap - what more do you want?

October 2003 -No views form the hotel windows, however this is probably not unusual as the buildings are constructed very close together. The only view was other roof tops at about 10 yards maximum.

Breakfast is continental, but most are here. However, the choice was poor and the things you found you liked ran out as you ate them during the stay. No newer stocks supplied. Also, there are too many rooms for the number of breakfast tables, breakfast always crowded and many people seemed to walk out when they saw it was too busy.

Bed linen including sheets and pillows, bath towels and flannels were all cleaned and the towels replaced every day. However, they smelt of Chinese sweet and sour, not very nice when you smell this all the time of your holiday/stay.

Requested a double bed, however the bed was a double with two single mattresses upon it. The covers were not really big enough to use both mattresses and the famous gap is most annoying.
