This worst credit card you have in your pocket. I have tired working with Capital One to get an overpayment back into my checking account for over a week mow. We keep going round and round in circles. One representative told me she would reverse the payment and have the money back in my account within a few days. Unfortunately for me I trusted she would do as she promised, but that never took place. I called Capital One again after a few days and found out there wasn’t any notation to collaborate my story, so I had to start over with a Manager. I was told she would have the money back in my account in 5 days and not to worry. Again, that didn’t happen, so I called again and they said an electronic transaction couldn’t take place because it was an overpayment. Mean while, I was under the impression my money was going to be deposited any time. I had to call a third time to find out they had to cut a paper check and send it to me through the mail which would take another 10 to 14 days. To start with I was the one to catch this error and contacted them before the payment was posted to my account, but because they don’t do as they say they are going to do I am stuck with an overpayment of $10,000. How many people can afford an overdraft in this amount and have it take in total about 20 days to fix this mess? Presently, I am still waiting for a check and it has been 9 days since I contacted them about the error. I will NEVER, NEVER do business any business with the company again. Hopefully, this will help someone else that is thinking about opening an account with them. Guess who’s NOT going to be in my pocket.
Petty Stuff
Had HSBC (Orchard Bank) credit card but they changed it to Capital One. Went over the limit by just $33 when they threw in the annual fee. I know it's my responsibility to keep that in mind but a little reminder about the annual fee coming through would have been nice. Credit card was only up near the limit because of Christmas--otherwise I always keep it down. Now because of the $33 they have sent a negative report to the credit agency. Seriously! I had poor credit for a time and worked very hard for a number of years to get back into the good credit range. This was supposed to be the card to help you get your credit back on track. Yeah...right. I can't even tell you how upset I am about a negative remark on my credit report.

Biggest Scam Ever!!
To repair my husbands credit we applied for and were approved for a secured credit card. we paid the 49.00 security fee and were sent a credit card. he tried to activate the card, has called 15xs and still not activated. they put a fraud hold on teh account and will not activate it without us faxing in our bank statement to show our initial payment. we have faxed this in 3xs and have spoken to multiple Cap One service reps and supervisors (most cannot speak english very well) and STILL not activated. have expressed our frustration and unhappiness and have asked for the card to be closed and money refunded if its not going to be activated and still no resolution. UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Damaged My Good Credit
My card used to be Household Bank now Capital One. Had issues where they didn't pay small charges, like redbox! They claimed thought it was fraud. Went over limit $12.00 last month due to my Creditkeeper which informed me now I have derogatory information on my credit report! This scared me when got message thought someone stole my idenity. Never has a credit card company done this to me before! Going pay off and close account! This was totally petty on their part.
Also had HSBC which was then changed to Capital One. Totally agree...trying so hard to keep my credit good after building it back up and they sent negative info to credit agency for petty thing that could have been avoided by them. Really hurts when you're trying so hard to do things right.

A Bunch Of Comics
A bunch of Comics"
I had 2 Captiol one accounts, one secured and one unsecured. Never had a problem with the unsecured card, still have it as of today. I had a Capitol One secured card, initial balance of $1000. Requested a credit limit increase to $2000, sent the money in, money cleared the banks, Capitol One restricted the card for almost a month. I tried to make an additional payment, the account was again restricted. The statement I got from customer reps at Cap One was that "we have to verify the ownership of the accounts that were used to provide funds for Cap One". Now on several occasions we called a couple of different banks that I do business with and verified accounts. Lo and behold, Cap one again restriced the frigging account. Took me 4 different times, requesting to speak to supervisors and managers, before I could find someone with enough sense to close the account. Hell, the first rep I talked to actually wanted me to make a payment on the account even though the account was not behind nor a payment due. I will say the account reps for Cap One have no common sense whatsoever, furthermore, they have no authority to make a customer happy, period.

My Daughter Obtained A Capitol One Master Card For
My Daughter obtained a Capitol One Master Card for the very intention of obtaining an initial credit rating. Her $300.00 deposit was secured and in a matter of less than 8 months she had achieved her objective as having a credit rating; thanks to Capitol One. She then attempted to terminate her agreement and experienced great difficulties negotiating the return of her initial "deposit". On the 20th April 2011 she contacted the call centre and felt she was unfairly being bullied to keep her account open. As her father, I spoke to the service representative (Tony) and I felt too, that the while the representative was diligent in his efforts to retain a customer, he clearly stepped over the bounds of customer service and was indeed threatening with his demeanour. I wonder if the situation may have been handed differently by Capitol One had I advised the representative that I was her Counsel. I am greatly disappointed by this situation and hope that it is an anomaly. I confirmed that the call was recorded and am willing to speak to a competent customer service supervisor and provide further details. I look forward to your response

Capital One Venture One Rewards Card: I'm Ver
Capital One Venture One Rewards Card:
I'm very diappointed by their poor service. During the 8 month I'm using this card mainly for travel outside of the US since it does not carry foreign currency transaction fees.
My card was flagged restricted various times. Mostly those restrictions were triggered by hotel or rental car charges when the card was used outside of the US - eventhough I announced those travels ahead of time.
Today they refused to raise my credit limit from the initial $3,000 to something I can actually use when on the road for a couple of weeks. To tell me that they kept me on hold for a total of 15min on an international phone - $14.85 down the toilet right there.
I gonna cancel that card and start using AMEX again.

Extremely Poor Customer Service - Ven When You Are
Extremely poor customer service - ven when you are reporting lost card you need to wait until next day 8.00 am when the offices open. Unbelievable. Also, they decline payments at their own sweet wish - without bothering to let you know and later when questioned, do very curteously apologise but still cannot give a reason. Apalling. Donot touch it with a barge pole.

I have had this card since 2003 with a £5k credit limit, they have always been very helpful and have even lowered my interest rates numerous times over the last 2-3 years whilst my other cards have gone up.
Highly recommended!
