The Olympus C860 Has To Be The Best Digital Camera

The olympus c860 has to be the best digital camera you can get for this amount of money. The picture quality is just superb, many professional options are available, uncompressed TIFF format is also supported. The 'battery eating' behaviour can be cured by purchasing rechargable NiMH batteries. If you don't like the slow serial connection when downloading pictures, I would recommend that you buy a Smartmedia reader USB or PCMCIA equipment.

For The Price, The Olympus C860 Is An Excellent Di

For the price, the Olympus C860 is an excellent digital camera. I have had this camera for a month now (after purchasing it through Internet Cameras Direct) and I am using it constantly and am consistently impressed with the quality of the results. The pictures I have taken are very clear, even at large picture sizes. So far I have mostly been using High Quality mode where I can store up to (approximately) 36 superb pictures on a single 8MB card.

There are quite a few options with this camera, and I certainly haven't been able to try them all as of yet.

Unfortunately there is no optical zoom, the camera does tend to eat batteries (rechargeables are a must!), and downloading to a computer can take a while with the relatively slow serial connection. But the overall quality of this camera definitely outweigh these few negative points.
