This Was Our First Visit To France As A Family.
This was our first visit to France as a family.
We stayed in a Kyriad hotel near St Malo the first night, which I would recommend, very friendly staff and a nice restaurant which welcomed children.
2 hours driving took us to our gite. Kerabellec is close to La Chapelle Neuve, just south of Baud. It is in a beautiful valley, very peaceful with far-reaching views, and the added attraction of trout fishing on-site for my husband.
The English owners made us very welcome and were on hand for the fortnight to help if needed.
We found the location convenient, being close to Vannes, Auray and the south coast, with Carnac and Quiberon within reach.
What impressed us most about Brittany was the empty roads, toll-free motorways and lots of free parking - not to mention the crepes and cider!
The only drawback was the fastcraft(Poole-St Malo) - no problem with the standard of service, and the staff were very attentive when our youngest was ill, but I think next time I would sacrifice speed for a little more stability.
