I have a 957DF, which is very similar to the
Samsung 955DF but will go to 1920 1440. I use 1152 864 @ 100Hz which suits me fine.
The monitor is sort of invisible and unnoticed, so I guess that means it does a good job.
Recommended.
I'm hoping to get a LCD TFT Monitor, and will be looking to see if Samsung's are as good as their CRTs.

The Samsung 955df 19 Inch Monitor Takes Some Work
The Samsung 955DF 19 inch monitor takes some work to adjust the geometry, and when you power it off and back again, your desktop has moved slightly. It grows, shrinks, or just plain moves somewhere else, just enough to be annoying. Then, you'll adjust it again, only to power on next time and it'll be moved again.
Otherwise, this is a great monitor. The picture is great, and has a nice highlight feature to brighten up specific areas of the monitor, or the whole screen. Working the menu system from the front panel is pretty easy, though just slightly confusing because all features are not contained in a single menu. Brightness/contrast are directly adjusted. Highlight feature has its own special button and menu system. All other options are obtained through the menu button.
I paid $190, but had a $30 rebate. I bought this monitor to run on a computer running Linux, and this monitor is specifically supported by SuSE Linux. I'm quite happy with it, so much so that when my buddy's monitor went out (Windows XP system), I recommended he pick one of these up. He's just as happy as I am. I'll seriously look at Samsung when I'm ready to get another monitor for my XP system, but next time I'll go LCD. BTW, the monitor that's currently on my Windows XP system is a 19

This monitor is a excellent overall monitor. I have a Nvidia G4 Ti4600 video card so I push it to its limits. My only gripe is that at high resolutions such as 1600 X 1200 the refresh rate will not go higher than 60.This causes a very irritating flicker on screen. However at 1024 X 768 you get a very respectable 100 refresh rate and at 800 X 600 it will do 120. The perfectly flat screen is pleasing and the colours vibrant. I highly recommend it.
