St170 2005

I have owned my ford focus st170 for two months, mine is a special edition 2005 model with full heated leather seats. So far iam absolutely loving it apart frm 260pounds iv spent servicing it iv only spent another 130pounds on a suspension damage. At times I can be a bit of a boy racer so iv beaten soo many cars in a race.

If u keep it serviced regularly then I dont think it will give you many problems. Historically ford cars are known to be really unreliable but the vibe iam getting frm this car is really good.

All in all if you look after this car the car will look after you.

Good Car!

Despite being underpowered, the Focus is the class leader. It comes in sedan form, wagon, and two versions of the hatchback form. (not counting SVT) The Focus has German engineering. By the way, Ford is not "Fix Or Repair Daily". Hyundai, Kia, and Mitsubishi are the most unreliable. And, if Ford makes such terrible cars, why do they have the best selling compact car, small SUV, midsize SUV, full size SUV, and truck.

I Have Owned My St170 For Almost Six Years Now. Ab

I have owned my St170 for almost six years now. Absolutely brilliant car! handles really well and is pretty nippy, it's got a decent size boot, but not really big enough for a double buggy as my partner and I have just had twins and its a bit of a squeeze because of the factory sub woofer speaker. the ride isnt too harsh which is common on sporty hatchbacks. Understated looks, but still looks sporty with 17" alloys and the bullet fog lights. I have the comfort and climate pack on mine which includes, xenon headlights which look great and the full heated leather recaro seats which are the most comfortable seats i have sat on.

It's not the most economical on fuel but it will have it's days when it suprises you, mainly on motorway journeys. The only things that have recently worn are a leak on the headlight washer pipe and a leak on one of the coolant pipes. Not bad for a nearly six year old car! I have owned the car from new and have 73,000 miles on the clock.

These cars are selling quite cheap second hand at the moment, and whilst i have been looking to buy something a bit different, i still have'nt found anything that has the comfort and performance that fits in with the price. So i'm going to hang onto it until ford bring out a better looking shape than the current one.

I Have Had My St For 5 Months Now. It Was Calling

I have had my ST for 5 months now. It was calling to me from a showroom window and decided to go for it.

It's been an absolute pleasure to own and I still get a buzz from seeing it parked up, it certainly is a great looking motor.

Mine has a factory fitted discreet bodykit, xenon headlights, full leather recaro interior and an amazing sounding stereo.

I recommend you look out for an ST with these extras as it transforms the look and feel of the car.

It is geared for high speed driving with it's 6 speed transmission which means it lacks some bottom end torque but I can live with that. All in all a fantastic car... Buy one if you're reading this and debating!

Great Choice For Anyone Looking For A Practical Ca

Great choice for anyone looking for a practical car with a bit of power (that doesn't scream 'boy racer'). I love cars that look fairly standard but pack a punch when you put your foot down. I have owned Golf GTis, a Leon Cupra and a Saab Aero (to name but a few), and whilst all of these were great cars in my opinion, none could match the Focus for handling!

Having only owned the ST170 for a few days, I can't comment on living with it for any length of time, however my initial feeling is that it is a fantastic car. Rarely has a car given me such confidence on the twisty B-roads I take to work each day. It is extremely sure-footed and an absolute pleasure to drive.

Despite having two young children, I opted for the 3-door version as I believe it is a much better looking car. Getting the kids in and out has not been a problem and they have more than enough space.

I agree with other reviewers that Focus ST170 would have benefited from a little more power, although when driven properly (i.e. getting the revs high) it is more than enough for everyday driving!

We Have Owned The Focus St170 For Just Under Two M

We have owned the Focus ST170 for just under two monthes and Part exxed a BMW 316i SE for it. My partner saw the Focus in a dealers and siad , oow look at that Black Focus, its lovely. I looked at it and saw the ST170 badge on the boot and thought, OMG expensive insurance, boy racer's car that's been thrashed.

How wrong was I .

It is lovely to drive, has plenty of grunt, goes like a scalded cat when you want to and behaves really well in town.

On the open road it handles very well,is very comfortable with the leather seats, A/C, climate control and Xenon Light pack.

Only down side I can see is the fuel economy aint that good.

Overall an excellent car that is well built, comfy, goes really well, and u have the inner smile of satisfaction every time u drive it.Boy Racers dont know about these cars obviously, cos they try and fail to out do them.

Awesome car.

I Love This Car, The Drive Is Excellent, The Chasi

I love this car, the drive is excellent, the chasis feels excellent and the feedback through the steering wheel is immense. This gives you the confidence to push hard round any corner. I strongly recommend Pirelli P7000 tyres, they last for a good lenght of time and the road grip they provide is excellent. Also they have massive grooves down the middle and are brilliant in the wet. with traction control on slo there is no drama ploughing throug deep puddles on a very wet day. The power is very managable also, unlike a type R civic which in the wet would be a bit hairy. Though the civic is the faster car with the V-tec engine.

Ive sat in both and i can say a focus st with the full leather heated recaro seats give you the impression that you are in a much more expensive car than it is.

One point ive had with this car was to do with the flywheel and clutch. I had the clutch replaced and we got the Genuine ford part. When we took it all apart the clutch we had did not match, Apparently some focus st's have a clutch with springs some have flat plate cl;utches and the flywheel has motion to take up slack. i have an 02 focus we ordered the 02 focus st clutch from ford and we still had this problem. just somerthing to be aware of.

Bottom line is, I love this car have no desire whatsoever to sell it. Ever.

Had Three Focus Zetecs Over The Last Ten Year And

Had three focus zetecs over the last ten year and being a driving enthusiast the handling is stunning disregardless of which engine you choose. The st170 is not the quickest if you look at the initial figures, but a good driver wants a car that inspires confidence.I've had three of the favourites also (cooper s/renault clio 182/ honda civic type r) the type r being the most recent, but whilst it was the fastest car i've owned the focus st170 is the better car to hurl along a good B road and inspires more confidence, especially through the steering. The type r does have a duff steering feel.A good driver in a slower great handling car will alway be quicker through the bends. So the st170 really is the best of all worlds, easy to drive, practical, and still looks great concidering the design has been around ten years. But, heres the best bit, you should find a good one between 4500-6000. The golf gti for somebody on a budget.
