I Have Had The Hitachi C28w430n Widescreen Tv For

I have had the Hitachi C28W430N widescreen TV for 3 years. It has suddenly started turning itself off intermittently, and then not coming on at all - just staying in stand-by mode. What's frustrating for me is that I have a 5 year guarantee with Alders, but they are in liquidation at present. I have had other Hitachi products that have lasted.

This one appears to be a common fault. Is there someone out there who knows whether this fault is repairable? Please can you leave me a comment on here? Many thanks!

My Hitachi C28w430n Widescreen Tv Also Switches It

My Hitachi C28W430N widescreen TV also switches itself off at will, and is now off for good. Time for the bin I think!

Speakers Rattle, Screen Developed A Fault After 2

Speakers rattle, screen developed a fault after 2 years 8 months causing picture to be too light. Customer service not prepared to do anything outside of 1 year warranty.

In summary very disappointing, would never recommend or purchase anything from Hitachi group ever again.

Never Paid So Much For A Television And Been So Di

Never paid so much for a television and been so disappointed.

The Hitachi C28W430N turns itself off whenever it feels like it usually as a goal is about to be scored or at the end of a murder mystery so you never know who did it.

I am completely frustrated and feel like throwing it through the window.

I Have Experienced Almost The Same Problem With Th

I have experienced almost the same problem with the Hitachi C28W430N switching itself off and then on again.

It finally switched off and came back on with a severely distorted picture.

I took a chance on a local repair centre but that has turned out to be a waste of time and money.

The picture quality is now extremely poor with tuning extremely difficult and many of the functions - such as switching aspect ratio - no longer working.

I have previously owned Hitachi TV's and videos but no more after this.

I have had this set just under three years - I should have known when the first set of this type I received was faulty and had to be swapped as soon as I bought it.

It has completely put me off what I thought was a reputable brand.

I have tried to get info from Hitachi's website but that was useless.

I will now look for a different brand.

I Got This Hitachi C28w430n Nicam Widescreen Tv A

I got this Hitachi C28W430N Nicam Widescreen TV a while back with a DVD player. The sound was very quiet when watching the DVD so had to turn up really high. After about 3 yrs, the TV started to turn itself off whilst watching, then on again with a loud "thunk". Then wouldnt even turn on, just stayed on stand-by. Far to expensive to repair, less than 3 yrs before failure not good enough to impress me. Put me off Hitachi for life....

Have just experienced almost exactly the same problem after just under three years of owning this model. Switching itself off then on again before finally going off and coming back on with a severely distorted picture. Took a chance on a repair by a local company but that has not worked out very well - picture quality is now very poor and tuning is very difficult with many of the functions - aspect switching etc. No longer working. Have previously had Hitachi TV's and videos but this has put me off the brand.

I would expect to get longer than 3 years from a TV of such a well known manufacturer.

I Have Had This Set For About 18 Months And Paid M

I have had this set for about 18 months and paid more than the now 'sale' price but i agree with the other reviewer, this set is excellent, good sound quality, superb picture and a set that looks very expensive.

Set up was easy and the remote is very user friendly.

I am considering upgrading to the 32" version, does anyone have any feedback on this model? It is still a 50hz model, is this OK for a 32" set?

Re Truth Teller's remarks; by my reckoning, a 32" diagonal means a picture area of about 463 sq inches as opposed to an area of about 360 sq inches for a 28" tube. Seems like quite good logic to me.

the truth teller

whats the point in upgrading to a tv thats 4" bigger? Not much of a upgrade, you wont notice the difference from 28"-32. Use some logic!

You Must Buy This Hitachi C28w430n 28" Nicam Tv No

You must buy this Hitachi C28W430N 28" Nicam TV now! I purchased mine from a Courts electrical clearance sale for £385! 28" widescreen made by a reputable firm for that price, you can't beat it. I have mine hooked up to Sky Digital and a Sony DVD player and it looks superb. This is my third Hitachi set and I am still impressed with them.

A little tip if you buy one. Make sure you hook up your Sky Digital box through the RGB supporting SCART connector, you get better picture results. Switch on RGB out on your Digibox too!!
