Siemens phones are OK if you like them as it all depends on your taste of mobile phones. As it may seem I would preffer the Nokia my self and recommend Nokia to any one.

Take My Advice Save Up An Extra $40 And Buy A Noki

Take my advice save up an extra $40 and buy a nokia 3315. This Siemens A40 mobile phone has NO features, BAD design, TERRIBLE appereance, in fact the only reason i own this phone is i got it as a present. I now have a nokia 3200 which i absolutely love!!!! So in summary, make a good decision and don't get this terrible phone.

The Siemens A40 Is Small, Its Cheap, Its Functiona

The Siemens A40 is small, its cheap, its functional on a very basic level. And for some it is what they are after. But even the everyday use of this phone has reminded me how much I miss my Nokia6150.

The display is usable just with only 1 line of text allowed. the keypad is nice and tactile and one button quiet mode is nice. What I miss the most from this phone is the last caller number display and the alarm function. Its a small thing that makes it impossible for me to think of this phone as a longer term keeper.

If you want just a phone.... cheap... buy it maybe.

The A40 Is Not Exactly Bristling With Features, Bu

The A40 is not exactly bristling with features, but if you want a reliable mobile, without the frills, it represents excellent value for money.

As well as using it in Australia, I took it on a driving holiday through Europe and England, and had no problems at all.

The display can be hard to read at times, particularly in low light conditions. It's OK in the dark, and in full light, but the back lighting could be stronger, and the font could be a touch bigger.

Operation is almost intuitive for the frequently used functions, and there are no surprises or weird procedures. Setup is fast, and the handbook is clear and easy to follow.

By current standards, the range of features is limited (no WAP, colour display, digital camera, games, FM radio, etc.), but more than enough to satisfy anyone who just wants a communications device, instead of an entertainment centre. Ideal for a tradesman, or business phone.

Battery endurance is good, and it recharges quickly. The usual accessories are available (car charger, hand free, leather cover), but you might have to search a bit to find them.

It's marginally heavier than most of its competitors, but I doubt that most people would notice the difference.

Siemens makes the A40 in a range of colours, but unfortunately only released "Anthracite" onto the Australian market. A serviceable, but rather dull colour

This mobile will not attract admiring glances sitting next to your glass of chardonnay at an outdoor restaurant, but with the money you have saved, you will be able to afford a better vintage!

The Siemens A40 Mobile Phone Is Simply A Copy Of T

The Siemens A40 mobile phone is simply a copy of the C35i with a smaller display. It hasn't as many features as C35i and I think that A40 is for someone who wish only the necessary. A simple and solid phone.

Hey

I agree. I have the Siemens A40 and its a nifty little standard phone that does all the job that you require. Ringing out and in and sms utility. At least it wont cost alot if you get it lost etc
