World Championship Rugby - The Fact That You Can't

World Championship Rugby - The fact that you can't skip pass, can't jump up for a ball, can't mock in your 22, can't dot down in your own dead ball line, can't set your players shallow or deep and can't set up moves shows that a lot of thought hasn't gone into this game.

Overall, World Championship Rugby Is A Good Rugby

Overall, World Championship Rugby is a good rugby game, but they should have put a create-your-own-player in there and squid like Rugby 2004.

World Championship Rugby Is Just So Disappointing.

World Championship Rugby is just SO DISAPPOINTING. I really thought that this game would finally give Rugby fans such as myself a game to compete anywear near the likes of Pro Evo Soccer 3 or even the Fifa series for that matter, but it comes up way short.

Johna Lomu was a fantastic game and I thought the fact that WCR was from these guys that this would give some indication of what to expect but it only adds to create a huge disapointment. In short it could of been so much better with some more attention to detail.

Little things such as match Stats and points scored by individuals just add soo much to a game. Kicking in play and for touch should be easier. Commentary is appaling. Speach is very slow and drawn out and just doesn't sound right.

Playability is basic and you can't do any set moves in the back line like on EA Rugby. Having said that, at times it can be rewarding with the timing of passes to draw the man. And passing is much more responsive than EA Rugby. You can't spint long enough (only about 3 secs) with the quicker players and it's hard to make clearing kicks without getting tackled. The full back in the opossing teams always seems to come out of nowhere to tackle you at a ridiculous speed.

Johna Lomu is still the best rugby game ever produced and it is 9 years old now! Don't waste your money, rent it first to see all this for yourself.

World Championship Rugby Is Undeniably The Best Ru

World Championship Rugby is undeniably the best rugby union game around, although the only other competition (Rugby 2004) is pitiful as it is all show (with great graphics) and no guts (with frustrating controls).

The gameplay of WCR follows in the path of its predecessor (Jonah Lomu Rugby) but improves by:

1) Making the gameplay more challenging with a responsive A.I.

2) Adding camera angles for gameplay (my favourite is "near end" although it could have been a bit closer to the action as it is difficult to follow the action on the far end of the pitch in defense and attack)

3) Better graphics

Although I cannot fault the game on extremely addictive gameplay and ingeneous challenge options, I do wish that this game was more than a tribute to an England world cup victory.

The fact that no other teams have a recognisable identity means that this game's longigivity will be isolated to the two player option rather quickly. What a pity, as this game could have become a classic if it was better authenticated and had domestic Super 12 and European options added to the mix.

Even with these frustrating flaws, the exciting gameplay more than makes up for the omissions and is the only viable rugby union option.

Urrrmm...you can tell that those people hadn't played World Championship Rugby yet. Basic graphics, basic gameplay, no depth and horrible ball physics. It would have been OK for a budget title but full price??? Only the England players are in there...the commentary is extremely poor...no licensed kits..etc etc etc.

World Championship Rugby Has Outstanding Gameplay

World Championship Rugby has outstanding gameplay from the passes to the kicks, the commentary hasn't got boring(yet). Only a few teams have the full named squad, England, Wales. The graphics are good, but not as good as other sports games like Fifa or Tiger Woods. I also like the 3D crowd.
