“Kept in the dark.”

Prior to temping for Blue Arrow I worked in a recruitment agency and constantly dealt with temps. Joining blue arrow as a temp I expected to be hear from my consultant regularly with updates. My employment with then was extremely fast a swift. They had come across my CV and I had an interview 2 days later. I was successfully at interview and started 2 days later. My consultant told that before I could start I needed to complete some paperwork. I came into the office and introduced my self to the receptionist who told me my consultant was busy but that I needed to complete the paperwork. (ironic that my 'consultant' that had told me she had booked time to go through the paperwork with me was now too busy). I was told by the receptionist that she was new and that she THOUGHT I was meant to complete all the documents. I only completed the documents that were relevant to me and explained I had no interest in agreeing to a deduction in my wages in order for my travel expenses to be reinbursed. I was given a blue arrow temping booklet and was told that my consultant would come and briefly go through it with me before I left. When my consultant finally came over she told me that as I had previously worked for a recruitment agency she didn't need to go through the booklet with me I just needed to sign n say I'd received it and then I was free to go. I noticed that the final page was not for me to confirm I had received the booklet. It was to again agree to a deduction in my wages for expenses. I again opted out and pointed out this error. I asked whether I could be provided with a job description as I have only been told bits about the jobs I would be starting the next day. I was then rudely told that she couldn't provide me with one and that I would be told what to do on my first day. I was also told that it would be my consultants last day. I asked who my new consultant would be and I was told that my new consultant wasnt in but would CALL me to introduce herself. Since I have stared temping I have had minimal contact with anyone from blue arrow. There is a blue arrow consultant on site who is extremely helpful Bt often fails to get a reply from my consultant in the branch. I regularly submit my timesheets on a friday and when I email in a question it takes 3 days to get a reply and by then the response is pointless. I was not explained the holiday procedures nor was I explained whether or not my new employment would be affected by the AWR. The initial service was great, I was placed in a fantastic job immediately. BUT the service since has been below average and certainly not what I expected.
