I was called by this company after I applied for a role as a Finance Director on Linkedin. They refused to give the company and supplied very little detail. They asked me to complete a 2 hour assessment (very odd for such a senior role) which entailed supplying advice on very specific circumstances/problems this company found it in.

After 2 weeks of hearing nothing, I sent Acuity an e-mail explaining that I no longer wanted to be considered. Funnily enough, I was then sent an e-mail minutes later informing me that I had not been taken foward anyway...despite working as an FD for an identical IT managed Service company. Very strange!

I believe this was very much a data gathering exercise where the supposed client benefited from many candidate assessment answers and I doubt very much that a job ever existed. Please be warned all future candidates before wasting your time!

We categorically assure you we are not a research agency masquerading as a recruitment agency. Under no circumstances would we take live company data and ask candidates for their input. We have never done that and never will.

In fact the role of Finance Director for this client was filled successfully and they continue to use Acuity's services for both recruitment and assessment purposes to this day.

The Accuity Associates test involves a very time constrained 2 hour test which is so hurried that it is unlikely to accurately predict who would perform best as a CFO / FD.

I would question why experienced and qualified finance professionals (particularly those who have worked at CFO / FD level for years) need to pass such a test before being submitted to a client. This is simply a recruitment agency trying to differentiate them selves in the market place.

My recommendation is to by pass this route and consider other opportunities as Accuity Partners are not the industry standard for regulating finance professionals (CFOs / FDs).
