“I wish I had read the other reviews about YES loans...”

Written on: 24/02/2006 by alicaff (1 review written)

I wish I had read the other reviews about YES loans first, then I would have not wasted £49.50. The letter we received was misleading, and it made us think we had been accepted for the loan, and that we had to pay the fee to receive the money. It wasn't the case!

Only when we read the small print does it say they are only brokers, and that they cannot guarantee that you will get a loan. Also in their small print it says there will be no compensation for misinterpretation. That says it… Read Full Review

Written on: 23/04/2006

Hello ‘Yes Loans Client’
I also got turned over by Yes Loans’ paid my £49-50, then found out they were only agents (brokers), was offered a loan with Welcome Finance that was far removed what they quoted at the top of the acceptance letter, that also asked for the fee, but all is not lost.
I have not let go and have been digging, on the OFT website is an archive of previous cases and a broker called Abermore that had its licence revoked because it did not return funds to clients pursuant to the Consumer Credit Act 1974, please see below.
I believe on the terms and conditions we were sent this is mentioned in very small print, as almost a favour not a right.
So just wait your time and request the refund. I am sure Yes Loans rely on peoples embarressment and lack of knowledge to the Consumer Credit Act to ask for the refund, if we all ask for refunds they will soon go out of business, or ‘under new management’ most probably.
Another anomaly I noticed on the loan forms sent to me by Welcome Finance (which I have had great fun telling them I am not happy with the offer) they have a section stating that the Broker introducing me to this transaction is Quick Response Loans, I can find nothing on the net about them, where has my agent gone; Yes Loans.
1. Section 155 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 applies to a number of types of agreement including mortgages and consumer loans of 25,000 or less. It states that a credit broker may charge no more than 5 for its services if the consumer does not enter into an agreement within six months of an introduction to a lender. If the broker has already charged more than 5, the excess must be refunded to the consumer upon request.
Good luck

“When taking out a YES loan you have to pay a £49.50...”

Written on: 21/02/2006 by djtbuell (1 review written)

When taking out a YES loan you have to pay a £49.50 administration charges. £5.00 of which will be kept by them if you wish to cancel the application or cannot get acceptance from a broker. They offered me a loan with Welcome Finance for half the amount, then sent the application off for to a secondary company for an even smaller amount. I know that I have a bad credit history, through nobodies fault but my own. There seems to be nothing that I can do to rectify my past poor mis-management. To… Read Full Review

How I wish I had found the Review Centre website before I sent my £49.95 cheque off to YES loans.

They gave me the impression that they provided the loan, but they are a go-between, then they cannot get a loan for you, and then you cannot get your cheque back off them for 6 months!… Read Full Review

Written on: 13/02/2006 by sanjula (1 review written)

I too saw this too late I had paid my money to YES Loans Personal Loans thinking my problems were all going to be solved! This wasn't the case.

YES Loans portray that you have been accepted for a loan and so long as you get your administration fee to them asap then you will receive your loan in 7 - 10 working days.

I waited the duration and heard nothing, I then contacted YES Loans and they informed me that 'I was just a client of YES Loans and that there were NO guarentees - this is… Read Full Review

“Thanks to everyone who wrote a review about YES Loans....”

Written on: 11/02/2006 by son145 (1 review written)

Thanks to everyone who wrote a review about YES Loans. I signed up online too and spoke to 'X' who told me about 6 or 7 times that YES Loans was indeed a LENDER and a broker.
Like others, I have a poor credit history and so thought I would try to get a loan through them, the paperwork certainly made it sound easy!
I'm just glad I thought to read the reviews today, I get my salary in 3 days and had planned to send the 49.50 then.
I can't afford to waste good money in the hope that I'm the… Read Full Review

“I read the reviews of YES loans personal loans too...”

Written on: 07/02/2006 by jade11 (1 review written)

I read the reviews of YES loans personal loans too late. Read them this evening and got onto the company who confirm that the agreement I had signed was only for them to work on my behalf (and the bloke was not this clear when I applied) he made out that I had the loan at a really good rate, I even asked him twice!!! I have just submitted an email to watchdog, more people need to be aware and leave this company alone. Glad I found out sooner rather han later but I could have done with that… Read Full Review

“My daughter recently understood she had been approved...”

Written on: 30/01/2006 by Richie B (1 review written)

My daughter recently understood she had been approved for a Yes Loan, and I paid her £50 admin fee for her. Over the following 2 weeks she then made numerous calls each day to find out what was happening. The promise each time was that someone would contact her from Welcome Finance. They didn't, and after seeing these reviews we can see now that this seems a common theme. Yes loans are just a broker for secondary brokers and take £50 and probably commission for the pleasure.
I'm now seeking… Read Full Review

Written on: 26/01/2006 by Jay N Jess (1 review written)

I too have a very poor credit history, so I went to Yes Loans as I was desperate. They confirmed over the telephone that my application for £10,000 had been agreed, and that they would send a form off for us to sign, and for us to send the now infamous admin fee. Well, we received the forms within 48 hours, and we sent it back with our admin fee, and we were so happy we thought our troubles were now over, but like everyone else, our troubles have got worse. We could now be homeless, and with a… Read Full Review

“Like many people who have applied for a loan with YES...”

Written on: 23/01/2006 by razorbladekisses (1 review written)

Like many people who have applied for a loan with YES loans I have a bad credit history. I had been turned down in the past for loans because of this, so my only option was to apply for a loan with a company such as YES loans, who say it doesn't matter if you have a poor credit history or CCJ's.

I filled in my application online and received a call instantly from YES loans. After going through my application with 'X' I was then put on hold while my application was checked. I guess this is just… Read Full Review

Thanks a millon for expressing your views on this yes loans, because i came across this warnings by chance and luckily before i sent off £49.50 to them. i am so shocked but yet relieved because i can relate to all the warning signs as i was approved in less than a minute. i hope the trading standards do something about them as what they are doing is illegal and could put people in more financial debt than there where before calling yes loans. please people stay away from yes loans, they could ruin you.

we have unfortunately fell for the 49.50 trap. We really don't know what to expect next we have been turned down for a loan lost a deposit we had put on a car because you are lead to believe that all is fine and that the loan had been accepted. We feel really foolish so be very careful because the chances of you getting that loan is really slim. Our advice is save and then buy.

They are RUBBISH stay away. The only way they will be able to find you a loan is if you have a brilliant credit history. I paid the £49.50 and waited.. and waited, so I decided to ring them, only for them to tell me the lenders have turned down my application, BUT they can offer me something else. This is when it gets funny. They said &#039; they can look at my credit score, and &#039;remove&#039; any previous loan applications/defaults etc&#039; with my permission, now i'm not experienced in this, but I really don't think that it is legally possible to access someone's credit file and remove things!!! Surely if it was that easy people would be doing it all the time. Yes!!- stay away cos they are wrongly trained!!!! RUBBISH. Don't even waste your time or your credit file its not worth it.

Spiderpoo's Response to razorbladekisses's Review

Written on: 21/03/2006

I too had been turned down for loans previously. So I decided to search the web to find an alternative.
I came across YesLoans who sounded great, I filled out an online application, they called back immediatly & of course approved me. At no point did anyone mention being a broker & the web site is worded as a primary lender.
After talking to my partner I was unhappy about the lack of information & decided to call YesLoans back & try for more info, they were cagy about giving information & again I went away unhappy, after the 3rd phonecall I demanded more information about APR, variable-fixed, loan repayments etc & was told all information was worked out on a typical example not the exact rates?
I went to sleep wondering how a loan company could lend money without giving all the critical information to the prospective lender??
The very next morning I was greeted by a letter of confirmation & a request for payment of £49.50, at this point I realised they were in fact a broker & not a primary lender as worded on the web site.
I binned the correspondance & payment request along with the pizza take-out flyers.
Since that time (3 weeks ago) I have been inundated with loan companies by phone calls, mail & e-mail turning me down for loans I didn't apply for. I have realised that even though I didn't sign anything, never paid the broker fee & indeed never had further correspondance with YesLoans, they have been applying for loans without my consent.
This very morning I received yet another call from a loan company, this time offering me a loan @ 45% apr over 4 years. I am skint NOT stupid!! I took the opportunity to ask the gentleman lender on the phone what my credit history report dragged up that he felt justified in offering me a rediculous rate for a loan, his next comment still has me in shock. I have been turned down by 94 loan companies in the last 3 weeks. YesLoans have been busy bees behind my back & completely ruined my credit history. I now have no chance of ever getting a mortgage, car finance or even a bank account!
I am considering taking my ruined bum to a solicitor & seeking compensation for anything possible.
Word to the wise: do not ever ever even talk to this company, they could ruin you too!

Written on: 29/12/2005 by Cate Archer (1 review written)

I saw Carolyn's review too late, I also signed up for Yes Loans online. Nowhere online or on their site does it tell you they are brokers. Even when I telephoned I was not told they are brokers. I should have asked. I paid my money to them and they sent 2 letters out within 24 hours, fast service I thought. When I found out they were brokers I had already signed the contract, I should have read the contract, as it says on the end they are credited brokers. When I cancelled the contract, the 2… Read Full Review

“MY EMAIL TO YES LOANS: ”

Written on: 23/12/2005 by kwaka750 (1 review written)

MY EMAIL TO YES LOANS:

Loan quoted: £6,000 over 36 months @ 14%. £205.06 per month, total repayment £7,382.36

This is the quote you gave me, you passed it and asked for a £49.50 payment which I sent, and you sent me a letter stating this.
Then you send me a letter today saying to call Welcome Finance and complete the loan on the telephone.
I did this and they quoted me a £3,000 loan over 2 years, £189 per month, total repayment £9,000, or £3,000 over 3 years, £219 per month, total repayments… Read Full Review

I also applied for a loan and they said I had been accepted. I paid the fee and then they said they couldn't give me a loan. They said I had to wait six months for a refund, I still have not recieved it back, IT IS A CON AND THEY ARE JUST MAKING INTEREST FROM THE DEPOSIT. I have since seen hundreds of complaints about this company I only wish I had seen them before. They are preying on vunerable people.

The same thing happened to me. You ring them up, you give you're details, they say you have a loan and they will seand you out a confirmation in post and all you have to do is give them an administration fee. Mmmm I thought an admin fee but I continued as I needed money for Christmas, NOTE: Not once did they mention they where brokers.
<br>So the letter comes through congratulations you're application has been accepted you need to fill out you're details and send out a form plus £50 which we did.
<br>They took money and sent us letter through saying thanks, you should recieve payment in 5days.
<br>WAITED and WAITED and.....I rang.
<br>
<br>Sorry we are brokers, we don't authorise loans, WHAT!!!! Here is a number of a loan company, we ring they know nothing about us whatsoever so we arrange a loan with them still haven't heard from them yet............ So rang customer services, you didn't read the small print in the little booklet (by the way we didn't receive, and on receiving after still does not say that they are brokers) so I'm not entitled to anything even though they actually did no broking, lol so just write in and complain, she said it could take 6 mounths lol.
<br>
<br>DO NOT DEAL THEY TOOK OUR MONEY AND THEY DON'T CARE. DO NOT APPROCH. DO NOT APPLY. If anyone has problems please leave a comment here and we can take it futher as a group, or if anyone has won a court case with them please contact me. I'm so angry I'm going all the way, just watch Yes Loans, I will get my money back.
