Been a loyal customer for many years and spent loads of money with Confused.com, last November got email to say if I took out insurance I would get a £20 Amazon voucher - I took out house insurance and NO voucher has ever arrived, despite asking and asking and emailing numerous times. Wont use this firm again, have since taken out holiday insurance and 2 lots of car insurance elsewhere - their loss - if they cant stick to the deal with loyal customers then I wont use them and will not recommend.

Purchased my campervan insurance from them on the van insurance website, and refused send me a toy for my son on grounds it was a motorhome not a van its vw transporter sad sad people avoid.

Bought my insurance through confused.com, waited months for my toy (seems superficial, but this is why I used them in first place) 3 months past and no toy, emailed them where I was told I needed to fill out a form, but At no point throughout the whole process was I prompted to fill out a form therefor I didn't know. You would have thought a good customer service would have waived this ridiculous idea and just sent a toy to keep customer option high, compare the market sent one within a week with no forms to fill out. Bitterly disappointed, will not use again and certainly won't recommend to a friend. If they said there was a form I would of filled it out.

I checked the box for them not to contact me by phone when getting a quote, well ive had dozens of calls from them and other insurance companies trying to sell me insurance, and their quotes were more expensive than other comparison sites. Ive never had a problem with any other comparison site

I used the website recently to get some quotes for income protection. Since then I have just been spammed with constant calls from companies trying to sell all types of insurance. I always look for boexes to tick for me to not be contacted so whatever boxes were offered I will have ticked, however, I don't remember there being that many. A competitor site which I usually use for my comparison quotes I have used for years and not had one phone call from the companies as I clearly ticked do not call. Quite happy with that. But will not be using confused again if all I get is spam calls after. I just want to look at quotes online and decide for myself, not be contacted by pushy sales people who wont listen.

filled in all the data for a car insurance quote - came up with a list of quotes that were in excess of £150 more expensive than the same search I did with comparethemarket - then they called me up and offered to get me another quote direct with their broker/underwriter - I eventually got put through to the receptionist who knew nothing about my quote - she then transferred me through to sales - waited a further 5 minutes when I decided to put the phone down. They called me and acted like I called them! Complete waste of my time.

I used Confused.com to search for life insurance. It's been 4 weeks and I still haven't received documents or actually had any cover start. I was sent duplicate forms from both Confused and L&G, the company providing the insurance. Information on the 2 sets of forms did not match up, nor did it match the information I had submitted online. It took 3 phone calls and sending 2 seperate forms to finally get insurane in place.Consider the fact that my wife went 'Directly' to an insurance provider and received the same level of cover, up and running in under a week and I can't possibly recommend the servie of confused.com.

I did my home insurance through Confused.com and was given a very competitive price so I proceeded with the quote through to the insurer and had to fill out the same details agin on their site (why??). I filled in the details exactly the same as in Confused and got a quote of +£50??? This is underhanded as confused ask you how much was your renewal premium, then they beat it to show their figures as better than the other comparison sites but this is not the case. I've been busy all week at work and had to get my insurance today so was forced into accepting this.

Hello, we are so sorry to hear that you have experienced this problem.
Rest assured, this certainly should not happen to your quotes. The price should not change unless you add extra cover or amend your quote details, so we would like to investigate this for you.
Can you please contact us with a description of your complaint, the name of the insurance company in question and your full name, date of birth and postcode? We will then look into this immediately for you.
In the meantime I would just like to confirm that we ask for your renewal price just so that we can see if the quotes we return are competitive. This information does not affect the prices returned to you.
Again, we are very sorry that you have had this problem.

Tried to get a car insurance quote. Quotes returned were expensive and whilst looking at the quotes I got an email and someone called me! Really annoying.
Written on: 14/05/2014
Hello! We are so sorry to hear that you are unhappy with our site.
I can confirm that we don't actually calculate the quote prices at Confused.com; the prices displayed on your Results page are calculated and returned by our panel of insurance providers, based on the information you entered on our website. They work out the premium based on claims statistics gathered for other drivers with similar details. I’m sorry the prices you received were too high!
I can also confirm that you may be contacted about your quote once you have submitted your details, but we do give you the option to opt out of contact before you submit your quote details. This will be found at the bottom of the 'Cover' page just above the 'Next' button you click to submit the quote.
I do hope this information helps. However, if you do have any further queries, please feel free to contact us.

I bought car insurance for my wife via reccomendations from Confused's website offers. When I went to pay, the company (M&S) told me they couldn't match the price just quoted on the website, but would offer me the same cover for about £30 more. I declined - good job I printed off the details first as I was able to press for the lower, quoted price. Later, I then bought car insurance for myself, again via Confused's website, from OneCallDirect. They took full payment, then said I had to abide by some conditions I could not fulfill and I therefore had to cancel before the policy began. OneCall charged me nearly £50 as an admin fee and I had to wait over 6 weeks to get the remainder refunded - but only after several emails and phone calls (Please read reviews about this company to see how many times they have done this)! Confused told me, as it was within the 'servicing' of a policy, then the issue was nothing to do with them. Nobody did anything illegal, just 'morally murky', but be aware that cheapest isn't always best - I'm seriously out of pocket this year because of Confused.com and the actions of their contributing partners. Please seek out reviews on each company before parting with your cash - it would have been cheaper this year for me to buy from the high street. Hindsight is a wonderful thing etc.

Hello,
We are so sorry to hear that you have experienced these problems. The quote from M&S should not have changed in price unless you had amended your details or selected to include extra cover. To enable us to look into this, can you please email us with the full name, date of birth and postcode of the policy holder? We can then investigate with M&S.
With the One Call admin fee, I can confirm that this is noted in the Terms and Conditions on their site. However, they should have also noted the conditions you would need to meet. If this information was not given to you by One Call, please let us know and we will also be happy to query this with them for you.
I do hope this helps.

I keep receiving promotional calls from different car insurers even after three years from using Confused.com. Three years ago I've gave up a car in favor of motorcycle, so I can be sure I haven't applied for any quotation in the mean time. But more and more call still coming. They usually starts a conversation saying that they've heard that I was looking for a car insurer in Confused.com. Yes I did, but three years ago you annoying vultures! Don't use Confused.com if you don't want your phone number to be sold around together with your the most private personal data.
Written on: 14/05/2014
Hello, we are so sorry to hear that you are still receiving calls! This certainly should not happen as the insurers are only able to contact you while the quotes are still valid.
Please email us and we will investigate this for you immediately.
We are very sorry for any inconvenience or upset caused.

Very clear and easy to use site. The insurance quotes we were given helped to show that we should not stay with our existing insurer but to look around for a better deal.
