“Belle colour not much staying power”

★★★☆☆

written by Duffyfw233 on 03/09/2019

I have used belle colour for years but I always notice it fades quite quickly with washing, I don't think my hair grows that fast, after a few washes grey is back. The after conditioner is hard to get out of the bottle, it should be a soft tube.

“Did not work! ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by blNelson317 on 23/06/2018

I have fine, dark blonde colour hair. During the lightening process, I left the mixture on for 45 minutes (15 minutes longer than the suggested amount of time) as I could not see any change to my hair colour after 30 minutes... After washing and drying, still no change whatsoever! What a waste of money!

“garnier products all suck!!”

written by KaelynStevens on 22/08/2016

Cheap for a reason. Even garnier shampoo and conditioner sucks. Garnier is why many woman have dead hair. I used this colour to dye my hair it didn't work at all. I even used the extreme bleach before it didn't work either. Waste of money

My hair was blonde my roots needed doing and I wanted to lift it some so bought belle colour 111 left it on 30 mins I could see it was dark when I washed it and dried my hair it was a dirty ashe really disappointed.I phoned Garnier up and she said it would be dark because of the ash in it so why does it say on the box lighting will not use it never again.

“amazing colour”

★★★★★

written by gemspurplecat on 13/09/2014

I used ' natural extra light ash blonde 111 . My base shade is 6 and I'd had bleach foils in to lift my colour, but it looked patchy and I prefer an overall colour. I did a strand test, on my darkest hair , the colour turned out medium blonde without any brassiness. On my crown and fringe where my hair is lighter , it went a lovely light blonde without the yellow. On my grey it went white blonde, in all a great multitonal colour. The best hair colour ever, doesn't make hair dry or dull . Would recommend !

“magically ginger to bright ash blond!!”

★★★★★

written by Lolav240 on 15/08/2014

Im a natural red head but Ive been dying it dark for years, I wanted a change so starting putting highlights in it to get it blonde, even in a hairdressers bleach just turns my hair lighter orange or white which is fairly understandable. usually I bleach it to light yellow myself and put an ash colour over it which works.. ish.. but with a horrible dull ash sitting ontop of red undertones that always shine through. I know not to truct box blonde on my hair as it never works but I was home sick and bored today and found a box of belle blonde 111 and said sure why not. I only intended to do a few streaks to test it but got carried away and did loads of highlights and most of my ginger roots, stuck a homemade tinfoil hat on and sat under the hairdryer for 40 mins on and off. washed it out expecting bright orange and telling myself 'why do you do this to yourself you dope..' but agh!!! Its the nicest bright cool blond! roots blended perfectly and it doesn't have the usual weird ash tinge to it! Its quite dry but no worse than any other blonde dye has left it, delighted! Id highly recommend it for roots and highlights on tricky hair, or all over on normal hair! Thank you!

“Belle is the Best”

★★★★★

written by Oopiegoat on 31/05/2013

In over 45 years o dying my hair, I have found Belle to be the mildest on my scalp and give a beautiful colour. In those years I have tried almost every kind o dye and about 10 years ago switched permanently to Belle. Then I did not have any gray hair and my natural hair was "strawberry" blonde. I used # 81 Ash Blonde to tone down the yellow and it gave a very fine blonde. Now as I am getting older and the gray is coming I have learned to mix the shades and started by adding a little # 110 Very Light Blonde to this to overshadow the gray tones in the ash colur. Now at 67, I am using 50% 81 an 50% 110 and it still gives me the lovely natural blonde colour. Even my hairdresser comments about the beautiful colour. He asked what brand I used.

I've dyed my hair many successful times in the past. I followed all the directions exactly, and my hair looks exactly the same as the hair in my brush. DO NOT BUY. WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!

“111 exra light ash blonde garnier belle colour”

★★★★★

written by littlesue on 11/02/2013

I had been using loreal extra light ash blonde 03 and thought that was good on my medium brown roots which have gold tones, bearing in mind I didnt pe lighten them. However, I was still getting a little brassiness on the darker roots at the back. I had been researching belle colour and decided to give it a try. I couldnt get it in the shops though I had to buy online. I am so pleased, it has got rid of that brassiness bringing the roots up to a nicelight natural blonde, lighter than loreal. Also, I agree with others, it doesnt have that strong eye watering smell like loreal and it didnt cause any stinging while on. I did put a natural blonde on my pure grey around the front sides of my hair as these need colour putting in not lightening. However, people have said that the 111 does cover grey so I might try it on the greys next time to see, or perhaps belle colour light ash blonde. People do forget that extra lightening colours are exactly that, they take colour out, but grey hair needs colour put in as it has no colour in it. It is annoying reading reviews where people rubbish a brand or colour when it is the fact they dont understand how colour works. Im not a hairdresser but have picked up info through having my colour done for years at a salon. Thank god I dont have to do that anymore. £4.00 is far better than £40!I will be staying with belle colour 111 now rather than trying to find the perfect colour for me because Ive actually found what works for me!

Me and my mother both have platinum blonde hair so we both use shade 110 bearing in mind myself in particular have used nearly every very light blonde hair dye on the market eg: nice and easy,John Freda, loreal, garner nutrise but garner belle colour is our favourite it's a beautiful colour just like on the box it covers grey and usually I find that most box dyes don't always cover my hair the same colour all over, the roots usually go slightly orange with other dyes but with belle colour it's the same shade all over but depending on the colour of you're hair to begin with the final shade will vary eg: I'm light brown naturally and my moms naturally dark blonde so mine comes out like the exact shade on the box where my mothers goes about 2 shades lighter, also If you're roots are darker than the rest of you're hair(which mine are a lot darker) then I personally recconmend that you leave it on half an hr longer than the instructions on the box states because then you'll get the exact shade all over instead of you're roots being darker this hair dye leaves my hair in excellent condition and the treatment that comes with it leaves my hair very soft and healthy and also gives it a great shine which is hard to achieve with blonde hair anyway, it has a technology in this hair dye that's called multi-tonal which means it gives sort of highlights through you're hair also with mine it dyes it all over colour the same as the shade on the box but then adds sort of different highlights throughout which makes it look more natural and sun kissed which is also usually very hard to get platinum blonde hair looking natural and healthy without going to a salon, no exaggeration this is the best dye on the market obviously if you want you're hair to go platinum blonde, natural looking and shiny as I don't know what the other shades are like but compared to other box dyes this is definitely the best by a mile as even my hair dresser when I went to get my hair cut couldn't believe it was a box dye as it looked multi tonal, heathy and stunning.

ok so my roots are mousey blonde so not alot of lifting to do really, but i dye my hair extra light beige blonde by john freida and that is brilliant by the way..... anyway i am on holiday at the moment and my roots needed doing so i went into my local shop and saw belle extra light ash blonde, liked the colour so i brought it.... anyway i put it on my hair and it started going purple, but in my recent experience with blonde hair dye alot of them do this and they have been fine with me so i left it to develop!.... so 20 mins later i go to wash it off... all fine for the moment untill i get out of the shower my hair has gone completly blue! it has ruined my blonde hair that took me ages to get i might add! now ive got to go and buy more blonde dye MORE MONEY to put it right i will never ever be using BELL COLOUR ever again! and i dont reccomend the shade EXTRA LIGHT ASH BLONDE to anyone! unless you want a blue rinse!

It happened to me too, 3 washes later n its still old lady colour! used 110 before but thought it was a bit brassy so tried the 111. Wish I hadn't bothered. Have now read the box which says "not suitable for grey hair" - I am naturally white n grey mixed so I think that's why. Wondering what to try next!?

You left it on too long, and if you used a ammonia free and peroxide free hair stripper like color b4 you'll be back to your old colour. I have even found lemon MOX with conditioner strips the dye right out.. Its fixed many of my grey mishaps when leaving on too long. Its a ash color so is blue/purple based. Maybe research more before buying a product like that.

The exact same thing happened to me when I first ever used this shade (111 natural extra light ash blonde) and I was terrified! So I panicked and shampooed my hair four times in one go, rinse, lather, repeat, repeat, repeat...lol! It's just the toner, this is now the only dye I use because once the purple/blue is rinsed out, it's the most beautiful shade of blonde, not a hint of yellow or brassiness to be seen! Thoroughly shampoo your hair four times, straight after rinsing the dye out then use the special conditioner included and voilà! Beautiful colour! I really hope this helps someone because I know how horrifying it is to see in the mirror when you're expecting something different xxx

I used belle colour ash blonde 111 as I previously used u nice and easy Colour and it left my roots orange with a block of orange at the top and blonde at the ends using this colou has definitely evened out the colour it is no longer a block at my roots and it has toned down the orange a lot! I have now died my hair three times yet this colour has still left it in good condition it isn't dry or frazzled I will definitely be using this colour again to keep the orange away! Definitely recommend!

“What a mess!”

This is one of the worst hair dyeing products I have used. I normally use Clairol Nice n easy extra light blonde shades and fancied a change, so decided to purchase this as it was on offer for just 3 pound. Decided to go for the extra light blonde colour (110) because I thought the colour looked lovely on the box and was so excited to use it. Got home, and covered my roots and head with the hair dye. After about 10 minutes I looked in the mirror to find my hair looked blue. I wasn't worried at the time because this is generally the case when you use blonde hair dyes and bleach. After 40 minutes i decided to wash it out. As i got out of the shower i briefly looked at myself in the mirror and to my dismay the colour and turned out an awful grey/blue colour. In fact, i looked like one of them grandmas who use blue rinse on their hair. DREADFUL is an understatement. I dryed my hair and it still wasn't any better. Didn't want to leave the house all day until i decided to ring my hair dresser to sort it out. This cost me a staggering 50 pound to repair and even then there was still traces of the disgusting colour. This experience has learnt be a valuable lesson. Don't take the risk with cheap hair dyes. You get what to pay for. Girls who have light blonde/ peroxide hair, my advice, DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT.

“Great color!!!!!”

★★★★★

written by Goldiebrown11 on 07/08/2011

Hi, I colored my hair like 4 times within a month! Couldn't get the color I wanted which is a rich golden brown. I had been used to lighten up my hair and dye it with the Nutrisse golden blond color which made my hair look coppery (my natural color is dark brown with red undertones) I wanted to go a bit darker from my previous very light coppery brown color so I went to the store and got me a Garnier Nutrisse dye I think it was light brown which turned out to be very dark brown on me! I know I guess it was because of my porous highlighted hair, whatever I didn't like it, as a matter of fact I hated it so I went to the store again and got a bleaching kit which I applied all over my hair with a comb for an even result, well, needless to say I went back to where I started in the first place, I'm lucky my hair was in good condition so didn't get much damage or split ends, I decided to let my hair rest for a couple of weeks before trying again. Once I was ready I started by reading reviews on different hair color brands and watched videos on you tube. I asked a professional about the color and she told me I should buy a dark blond hue. I asked, well I want a golden brown and she told me because of my red undertones it will result in the color I wanted! I bought Belle Color because is one of the cheapest and I'm really happy with the result! A rich, glossy, warm golden brown, very even! My hair looks amazing! The conditioner makes your hair really silky and manageable. This color is the best I've ever had! Oh I forgot to say I have some grays and they are covered too! No difference between my roots and the rest of my hair, just like the product promised: a natural looking color!

“Belle color 9.32 Pearl Blonde. My hair is now grey.I...”

written by on 14/05/2011

Belle color 9.32 Pearl Blonde. My hair is now grey.I use a tinting bowl with brush to apply the mixed colour (which I shake in the bottle and then put in the bowl)to the roots rather than doing the whole head, as the ends of the hair are more porous than the roots and won't take the colour evenly. I've used Belle Color and Nutrisse for ages - went from BC to N and now back to BC.
Easy to use and a really good colour, being a bit warmer than ash blonde. The only problem is that it lifts out especially in the sun, but all dyes do.
Lots of admiration even from my hairdresser (who gave me the tip about using a brush and bowl).

written by on 20/03/2011

I'm naturally blonde and I hadn't died my hair before. I just wanted to go slightly lighter ( I was identical to the colour on the box that was shown. I did a patch test and it was fine. So I went ahead and died it. My hair is slightly more ginger than strawberry blonde now. It's horrible and I wish I'd never died it. It's a bearable colour to put up with, but not what I wanted whatsoever!

written by on 22/11/2010

I have previously used Nice n Easy hair colour but since they changed the formula I have been looking for my next perfect hair colour. I bought Garnier Belle colour 9.1 Light Ash Blonde. Its easy to use, not a bad fragrance, and BEST OF ALL.....FANTASTIC HAIR COLOUR !!!
The colour is a perfect, true to life, light ash blonde. Very easy to apply and no bad scalp reactions ( i did do a patch test ). Condition is very good and I would recommend to anyone looking for a permanent hair colour product. I'm back to my normal blonde and back to receiving complements.
