“Bad Quality Jeans”

I bought a pair of jeans December 2012 time for £25 which I believe is expensive when you can go to h&m and new look and get cheaper jeans! At first I was very please and they weren't the perfect fit but fitted to a good standard!! But within a few months I noticed the stitching to loosen around the knees, and within 6 months of owning these jeans they have gained multiple rips. When I buy jeans I buy them to last or until they have been outgrown, as in my past experience with other retailers jeans. I have bought jeans from Dorothy Perkins which have lasted 5 year plus that still fit and have a small rip near the pocket which I purchased for the same amount of money.I am very angry with the quality and ADVICE no one to purchase the jeans as they are a waste of money for what you are buying. It is a shame because I love the design of the clothing, and even have friends that have bought tops and jumpers that have gained rips within months.

“Totally Dishonest.”

Disgusting customer service at the SALISBURY BRANCH. My daughter (15yrs old) purchased a top with cash and was overcharged. When she queried the mistake she was told that she could have a credit voucher for the difference but they could not give her her money back. I went back with her to complain and got nowhere. I advised the manager?? that they were taking advantage of a young person and what they had effectively "stolen" her money but was told that as she had left the store (which was incorrect), she could have a credit refund but not cash.Total dishonesty on the part of the store.. I will be taking this further.

“RIP OFF when is a sale a sale...when the staff decide!”

I today tried to purchase a number of items in the Reading store. The first item marked at £15 went through the till at £22.50. I was told it had been marked down in error despite there being a number of identical tops also having been marked down the staff refused to complete the transaction at the marked price saying it was always happening but no apology. I have a photo of said tops showing mark downs. Secondly there are signs up all over the store stating 20% off all ticket prices, again I was told this was not the case and was not allowed the 20% off my items as they were off the sale rail. I pointed out the signage clearly states 20% off all ticket prices and they said this was wrong and it did not include everything, it was a mistake. I told them I would complain and they didn't give a stuff, I guess because they are losing their jobs? We walked out (without purchasing any of the items) in disgust and went to TopMan where the staff were courteous and helpful.

“POOR QUALITY”

My daughter bought a coat from the Trafford Center Republic last December for £60- an expensive one!! She started to wear it again from November this year and the zips completely broke. I informed the shop manager at the trafford and there was nothing they could do because for faulty goods its only 6mnths guarantee!! However, what about the sale of goods Act- products fit for purpose? However Republic have their own laws.... DISGUSTED THAT THEIR EXPENSIVE PRODUCTS DON'T LAST!!!! Never ever again will we purchase something from their again!!

“Customer Service in Britain Continues to Tank!”

In the past 12 months I've had 3 dodgy hoodies from Republic where the graphic on the front - when washed at 30 degrees - has run. And that's even when using colour catchers! They've refunded my money each time, but never once refunded shipping fees I paid to return the item. It happened again with a recent purchase. Bought a hoodie that was a flat yellow colour on the site image, described as 'banana'. When received the colour - as a 'subsequent' review on their site said - was a dark 'mustard' colour. Sent it back and this time demanded they refund my shipping fee of £2.50 as well for wasting my time and money as a result a poor image and colour description. Misrepresentation and all that. Did they refund me? Nope! For the sake of £2.50 and 'doing the right thing' they've now lost my account, approx £250-300 a year. I'm done with Republic. To be honest I'm fed up of writing negative reviews for online companies. It should be mandatory for all online companies to spend a day with Amazon who are beyond exceptional. That's exactly why I've spent well over £50K with them since 1998 and they are always my first port of call for anything new. What do Amazon do right? - Free Delivery on everything (except some 3rd party marketplace sellers) - Free and Effortless Returns on everything (except some 3rd party marketplace sellers) - Extremely Competitive Prices, Big Product Range, Site Good Usability. I could go on but I'm not here to promote Amazon, I'm here to say beware of Republic Returns and poor Customer Service.

“Bad Customer Service!”

Now iv never had a problem with republic brought quite alot of things from the store so it was no wonder i recommened my mum to go there for christmas presents this year. now she brought a pair of trousers, when my boyfriend recieved them they were dirty around the bottoms..fair enough chuck them in the wash.he removed the tags apart from one that republic sew into the pocket?! quite clearly going to create a hole in the product! which it did! they turned out to be to small due to some werid button up procedure so when i returned them to basildons store the women told me she wouldnt accept them because they had been washed and had a hole in...surely the hole itself would make it a faulty product! as it was through republics tags and not made by himself! i wasnt after a return just simply an exchange! she then proceded to tell me if i returned them to head office they would just send them back to me? now to save myself anymore embarressment and an argument she clearly knew little about i left the store as quite clearly washing clothes is uncommon to her!! which confused me further because if i brought back dirty clothes they wouldnt accept them for that reason too!! then to top it off she loudly gossiped about me and my partner as we left the store! This is disgracful customer service! and there is no chance im entering a republic any time soon! i think il spend my money elsewhere from now on! that women should not be working in retail and customer services..or at least have a little more training in how to do something respectfully! NOT HAPPY

“Delivery times are lies”

If you order be prepared to wait at least doinle your estimated delivery time, their service is among the most terrible i have ever used avoid unless extremely necessary.

“Internet shopping - AVOID”

Republic have let me down twice now with products ordered online. I ordered 2 items 10 days ago and requested a specific delivery date as it was the only day i was home. It didnt arrive. I tracked it online and it said that my item was at the 'sheffield depot in error'.....200 miles away. Contacted republic who apologised and told me it would be with me the following day. Had to take the morning off work and then arrange for somebody to come and wait at my house for it on the afternoon....finished work, got home at 5.30pm and guess what - still no parcel! Contacted republic who checked and assured me it would be with me by 8pm, Its not 8.30 and no delivery!! not impressed

“I love republic”

Republic is always up to date, it is cheaper then topshop and river island, but more expensive than new look or h and m. Considering this, i do believe they have the best variety of clothes out of all of the above shops mentioned, in season, amazing colors and just a great all round shop. I always shop there and get great fashion advice. They also have a lovely shoe section.

“What a joke”

So I have just torn my 4th pair of shorts that I purchased from republic. These shorts have all ripped in exactly the same place, they haven't been caught on anything. Myself and my partner were laughing about the fact that 3 pairs had ripped in the same place and the next day my last pair ripped. I contacted republic customer services via e-mail and explained that I didn't keep the first 3 pairs of shorts as I didn't realise there was a problem until the last pair. Republics reply was to send them all back with receipts so obviously they didn't read the whole e-mail. The shorts were in the 2 for £25 offer but I see now it was false economy I have spent £50 and ended with no shorts, I should have just bought one expensive pair then at least I would still have a pair. I also asked republic if there was a fault as I didn't want to purchase more just to go in the bin but. They didn't answer that question. It's a shame as they looked good and were a good price.

“Polite staff, sometimes expensive, "cheap" clothing.”

Republic are always up to date with fashion and always have the "most wanted" items available, but Republic's weak point is definitely "value for money." For example, I was looking for a red dress, and thought I would look in Republic for one. Of course, i found one as their variety of clothes is extraordinary. The dress was £30, which i thought was relatively about right, and I went to try it on. As soon as I had it on, the material felt cheap and nasty compared to the Topshop dress I had tried on earlier, which was around the same price. Apart from that, the staff are polite and customer service is good.

“Rude , unhelpful , young staff !”

Wnt to my local republic for a jacket , said we had three in stock , when i got there they said they only had a small , brought it home to try , didnt fit , so phoned to ask why it said they did have 3 mediums in stoall from customer services ck , was told they would not yet have been unpacked , even though it had said for 3 days they had them in , & they would not have time as they were short staffed & had to have their dinner breaks ! Phoned customer services to put it to them , that was it not their policy to put customers first & try & make a sale , they were no help whatsoever Found the item somewhere else & when i went back the same day to get a refund they must have had a call from customer services as they had a medium by now , told them i had got it somewhere else now , & the rude young girls looked at each other , while i was stood there & said "well that was a waste of time " how rude is that I worked in retail & customers always came first , we were always polite & as helpful as possible , if we had been found doing any other we would have lost our jobs , i would have thought as things are & retailers need more than ever customers to buy , with staff with such attidues , is not the way foward to acheive this Products are important , but the service you get , for me is what makes me go back !

“Worst customer service in the planet”

I ordered some items online, but one of the items [a tshirt] was ill fitting so I had to return it. I paid for it online, I wanted to pay with my mastercard, but changed my mind and paid with the visa, but i already selecting mastercard and left it on mastercard and put in my visa card details in the rest of the form. I got the item delivered in a few days times, I quickly tried everything on but the tshirt was unsuitable, i drove down to the store the same day and tried to get a refund but the girl at the cashier didn't let me, i asked the manager to come down, she wouldn't let me either. The receipted said Mastercard instead of Visa and that was too much of a discrepancy, despite the fact that the last 4 digits [only visible ones] and the expirey date matched, they still couldnt give me a refund because the card type was wrong. I even offered to show my driving license which had my name and address on, [i had a postal receipt from republic, which had my name and address too], they wouldnt even budge on that, all for a poxy £30 tshirt You know what the worse thing was, i don't think the cashier would have noticed, i noticed the mistake while i was queing up and getting my cards ready. then saw the mistake on the receipt. So as soon as I went to the cashier I notified her of the problem, and reassured her that it's just a mistake with the card type. I guess honesty isnt always the best policy, and if I just stayed shut up I would have got my rightfully deserved refund there and then. Most cashiers probably just match the card numbers and dont bother to look at all the other bits of info. I then phoned head office after i left the store, and complained, she reiterated that the manager wasn't "comfortable" with this and was in her right to refuse to refund a T-SHIRT. The head office said since I bought online I should return it to the warehose via post, and they'll refund it directly to the card that was used originally to pay with, they sent me a freepost envelop.. great/ weeks later no refund, then one day the T-shirt lands back into my letterbox.. I find out later that republic forgot to pay their RMA BILLLS!!! so the courier refused to deliver the items to republic and bouched it back to the customers. I was fuming, phoned up republic to get an answer. But in true republic fashion, no gesture of good will for the inconvenience and stress caused to me, just a lame apology [that they probably said to hundreds of other customers who had their packages bouce back] and sent me a new return envelope, and then after 6 weeks since originally purchasing a TSHIRT and requesting refund, i finally got it. I haven't been back since to republic. I used to spend £500-£1000 a year in their stores mainly buying gstar clothes, now i just go straight to the gstar boutique in department stores or gstar stores themselves in large shopping malls. way to go republic some way to lose a customer Tweet me @LondonTiger

“Absolutely terrible customer service and a very...”

Absolutely terrible customer service and a very limited selection of jeans.
After waiting in the queue for a very long time, the shop assistant insisted that i can get an extra t-shirt and that would lower the price of a pair of jeans, so she drags me to the t-shirt area and i agree to pick a t shirt, she tells me to hurry because i was keeping people waiting. After going back to the shop assistant she tells me and i quote " Oh you better get the the end of the queue otherwise you're going to be there waiting for a while!" after already waiting a good 20 minutes in what i considered to be a relatively small Que i found this unacceptable.
Meanwhile the other shop assistant decides to go turn on the music while many other customers keep on waiting!
At this point i put the the shirt back and left the shop never to return!
peak time on a Saturday and one person on the till? beyond a joke and a complete waste of my time. i wouldn't even give it one star!!

incompetent staff, who cannot be bothered and keeps you waiting while talking on the phone to their boyfriend. poor quality - the cardigan i bought completely lost its colour after a cold hand (!!) wash!!!. when i brought it back the shop assistant said, they don't take reclamations. how gross!!!

“Republic clothing have decent quality products but...”

Republic clothing have decent quality products but their customer service is terrible. Bought a pair of jeans only find the size on the sticker was not the size of the jeans. Returned to the store to have them exchanged only to find that they didn't have the size left. Asked the manager of the store if he could order me a pair to which he declined to do so nor did he at any point offer any other solution. Luckily I was within the 7 day refund period otherwise I wouldn't have even got my money back.

Sometimes Republic have really gorgeus stuff, sometimes not so much. But recently they've started stocking clothes and swimwear from Soul Cal which I love. Great flip flops and bags.
