I had my hair cut in the super cuts to find that it was a total mess one side was shorter than the other by quite a bit. On returning to the salon to get it put right I walked out with it even worse than i went in. After asking them what could be done to put it right I was told to either have it cut short(But my hair was Quite long to start with) or to have a fringe.I HAVE A COMPLIMENTARY HAIR CUT VOUCHER FOR THEM NOW BUT THERE IS NO WAY I WOULD EVER TRUST THEM AGAIN

I've visited probably 15 different Supercut hairdressers in California, and I've never once had a good haircut. I'm not joking here. I mean, they can't even get my sideburns even? How basic is that?

I went to supercuts yesterday to have my hair washed cut and blow dryed as it was getting too dry and alot of split end were appearing, After reading some of the negatives reviews on here i was a bit scared when going, but i can happily say i was very satisfied with the service i received, the wait wasnt too long and the guy who did my hair was very friendly and gave me a lot of good advice on keeping my hair in good condition, I was very pleased with my end result and gave him a tip I've never seen my hair so gorgeous and healthy, I'll definitely be going back for another cut!

I love the girls at Supercuts in Rugby. I am 70 years old, and they have modernised me and I love it. They are so helpful; and kind. What more could you want? They are a little family to me. Bless them all. I wish I could always get in sometimes. The wait is long, but they always make it entertaining.

Mary Giles.
Thank goodness for my daughters computer.

Having read some terrible reviews on here, I felt I needed to write a note on what a great experience I had at supercuts in the White Rose Centre, Leeds. I have been to this salon twice in the last year; both times for pretty drastic restyles, and both times I have left the salon extremely happy. The staff are great and chatty. They listen to your requirements, advise on your style and tell you about products you could try, without being too pushy and forcing you to buy them. After being told I would have to wait an hour, my wait was probably only 30 minutes, and I am so happy with my new style.

Overall, a much better salon experience than some of the more expensive salons I have visited in the past!

Supercuts in Yeovil is the best hairdresser I've been to in 10 years. I travel miles to see one stylist in particular every 6 weeks, and it's worth it. Yeovil Supercuts is brilliant!! It's a new establishment, but they are all very experienced, and it is an open and airy atmosphere. I can't believe people are slating it the way they are!

written by Red1401 on 26/08/2007

I visited Supercuts in Scunthorpe yesterday for a cut and have to say the stylist was excellent and I will definitely go again. I was asked to take a seat, but was only waiting for a couple of minutes (yes, a bank holiday weekend too!) before the friendly stylist sat me down and asked what I wanted. After my last attempt at a hair cut (NOT at a Supercuts Salon I hasten to add!) I was desperate to get my hair looking decent again as it was an absolute mess. I told them her what I would like and she listened - I hate going somewhere and they say 'well, what I'll do is'. Three quarters of an hour later and I was nicely coiffured - VERY pleased with the result! When I paid she asked me if I was OK for products - absolutely no pressure to buy anything! I will DEFINITELY go back in 5 or 6 weeks.

NH area salons are uncooperative over the phone and poorly trained. I wouldn't recommend the hair coloring services to anyone. You might get a decent men's cut, but women's cuts aren't Supercuts speciality.

It's the first time I've been to a Supercuts (Derby)in years & I was very impressed. I only had to wait 10 mins, the stylist seemed very knowledgable and talked me through everything before she did it (as I was having a drastic re-style), the other staff seemed really nice & chatty, & I am absolutely chuffed to bits with my new hair!

★★★★★

written by katypotatey on 12/01/2007

I went to Supercuts in Huddersfield today, even after reading all the bad reviews on this site. I was very pleasantly surprised with the whole experience. I was told I would have to wait 45 minutes or longer (there were only 2 stylists working at that time), but after half an hour I was seen. The stylist was great, and really interested in what I wanted, and gave me her own opinion of what we could do. She seemed very knowledgeable and gave me advice on what to use to keep the condition of my hair, and she didn't pressure me into buying products at all.

Overall, I am very pleased with the result. It is a lovely cut, and just what I asked for. I will definitely be returning.

I went to there around 4 months ago. The girl didn't even listen to what I was saying properly. My hair ended up looking the same but with uneven ends!! I made the mistake of trying it out again two days back, thinking that it might be good since this was in a different city, but the haircut I received at supercuts hairdressers was so terrible, I am compelled to write this review!!

written by croley on 30/11/2006

I went to their branch in Rugby, Warwickshire to have my 2 year old daughters hair cut - Never again! Four of the staff were standing around, not busy and (one customer having hair cut). I asked if they could cut my daughters hair, and the assistant said "no" because they don't cut kids hair on Saturdays! Oh. "Why not"? I said... "It's company policy" she said, "as Saturdays are busy" she went on to say. I pointed out that they only had one customer. She said they could cut my daughters hair if I paid full price - £13.75! I was furious. Appalling policy. What a load of rubbish. I was going to have a quick trim myself! They lost out on £22 that day. Their policy is that children can only have their hair cut on weekdays. I also pointed out that many parents are working parents! No luck!

“I went to a Supercuts in Mansfield in Nottinghamshire...”

written by laurieann on 19/10/2006

I went to a Supercuts in Mansfield in Nottinghamshire about 3 years ago and had an awful experience where my hair was wonky and uneven and it looked like a mushroom on top of my head. Only last month I decided that I would have my hair cut again whilst in London. I saw a Supercuts in London and thought, well, they are fairly cheap and it's in London, these people must be trained properly!

They were not, I was first insulted on the condition of my hair (which wasn't that bad anyway) but she stood there for 10 minutes tutting and shaking her head and she then said that she was late in leaving to go home and was annoyed and began cutting my hair! Not the best start. So, once the cut was finished, she "took the water out of it", which basically meant blow drying for 5 minutes and making me leave without my hair being dry. By this point I was so intimidated and slightly humiliated that I simply paid and left. I thought, well, at least the cut will be ok!

It wasn't, it was uneven and I have a spot literally showing a chunk of it missing from the back and none of it is straight.

I sent a letter with photos and a copy of the receipt and said that I wanted a refund but I still haven't heard back!

Supercuts in Carlisle seem to employ unqualified staff. Always ask, before you let anyone cut your hair, if they are experienced. They won't tell you otherwise, or you'll end up having to pay someone else to put their mess right.

I had glossy long dark red hair. I asked for a modest trim at Supercuts. She gave me a mullet and I'm not exaggerating, cut right back to almost behind the ears, complete with wonky fringe. My mum took my daughter and they didn't even get a straight line on a fringe cut. I ended up dying it blonde to soften the cut, obviously it broke off loads but at least people stopped laughing! Don't go for a cut here unless you want to look like Edward Scissorhands

I went into an empty Supercuts salon in Nottingham 50 minutes before close and was told by an arrogant stylist that I could not have a simple cut because they had to unpack stock. Having rushed from work to have haircut, to be ready for my son's graduation, I was distressed by the rebuff given without even an apology.

written by 72vtb on 02/08/2006

Went to Supercuts at Bluewater today for a child's haircut. There were four "stylists" in a huddle at the main desk, I presumed have an impromptu staff meeting. When I asked how long to wait, I was advised 20 minutes. There were two people in front of me. The furious four then carried on talking about one of the stylists' boyfriends and the events of the previous evening. I lasted about a minute before I got up and said I am not waiting while you four stand around chatting, to be answered rudely by "fine". There is another hairdressers in Bluewater, and therefore I shall not be going back.

Tothepoint's Response to 72vtb's Review

Written on: 04/04/2008

At the supercuts I go to, usually only 1 or 2 stylists are working at any given time. If other stylists are there just chatting away not taking customers, it's because their shift has ended and they are clocked out of the computer already. What's wrong with them enjoying a little chat with their co-workers after their shift. They can't do it during working hours.

The Supercuts salon has recently opened in Durham so my problems could, I suppose be put down to teething problems. But I for one certainly won't be going back for a repeat.

It very much depends on the hairdresser you get at Supercuts, as some are brilliant and some are truly awful. If you find a good one it is worth getting their name, as you can ask to be seen by them for £1 extra.

I went to the Bristol city centre Supercuts, paid over £29 and came out with wet hair. Is not a blow dry included? A cold wet miserable day, so was my hair wet after waiting an hour for my turn.

No, blowdrys aren't included. They take from 10-30 minutes while 1 or 2 other cuts could have been done. That's why you pay so much less than other shops and can just walk in and sit if they're properly staffed. If they're not remember it's not the employees fault. The companies cheap, pays minimum wage, and doesn't like people taking breaks. - employee for four years
