Parcel Force might be a lot more expensive, but this really is a case of getting what you pay for.

The phrase about peanuts and monkeys comes to mind when I think of Parcels2Go.

I sent a fishing pole worth £2000 via Parcels2Go deliver service. I put £2000 cover on it costing £22. One part of the pole got damaged so I tried to claim 8 weeks ago, and I have had no contact and no response. I have sent 100's of emails and made loads of phone calls. You can not speak to the claims department.

written by elloway on 16/10/2006

I have been able to choose my collection day, and I have never had any problems with Parcels2Go delivery service. The drivers are always courteous, and my parcels have always arrived on time and without damage.

I have used them many times, and never had any complaints. It would however be nice to choose am or pm collection, because you could be waiting in all day.

I used their services once, and I will NEVER use them again. I bought a car bonnet from Ebay and used their delivery services, as they seemed to have some kind of association with Ebay. The bonnet that was supposed to take 2 - 3 days for delivery, took a month and several phone calls to Parcels2Go. It arrived damaged, and despite filling out the claim forms and emailing Parcels2go, nothing has come to fruition, 6 months later!!

I have arranged for them to pick up a pushchair on a next day delivery service. This was 4 days ago, and nobody has been. Customer care is also very bad. I posted my problems on a car forum that I visit, and everybody who replied has had trouble with them. If only I knew before placing the order with Parcels2Go.

My first opinion of parcels2Go is a let down. I will not be arranging any more collections. It looks like I'm going to get my first ever negative feedback on Ebay thanks to good old Parcels2Go

written by Paul Barker on 05/06/2006

I sent a cabinet with Parcels 2 Go and it turned up badly damaged. After days of trying to get a response from them, I was informed, because it was glass I was uninsured. Firstly, they were happy to pick it up knowing it was glass. Secondly, it was the cabinet itself that was damaged and not the glass.

They are very very poor and very unhelpful. They used DHL, which is a company that I expect more from.

I will never use Parcel2Go again! I have received a terrible service overall. It is such a shame because they were excellent, but they've grown too big too soon.

I have tried the Parcels 2 Go delivery service 4 times. 2 of the 4 parcels had problems. A driver was supposed to come but failed on three consecutive days. The customer service department were not interested. They recently damaged a parcel and I submitted a claim. In 2 months I have not been able to get them to answer an email or return a phone call. Having issued them with a threat of legal action, they now say my claim was not received within the proper time. I sent the claim by recorded delivery so I know this is not true.

“I needed to send a heavy parcel that contained...”

written by casey2 on 22/02/2006

I needed to send a heavy parcel that contained something of no large value. Parcels2go sounded great - £10.50 to get the parcel collected and delivered in 2 - 3 days, and a 96% success rate - what could go wrong? Easy to book on the internet, could even pay with PayPal. Email informed me parcel would be collected 9 - 5.30 Tuesday, so I waited. And I waited. I dutifully waited until 5.30, and then rang the company - offices shut at 5.15 - how convenient, presumably timed so the phones don't get jammed at 5.30 by unhappy customers.

However, there was an automated service with options to re-book delivery, or report a non collection. I chose the latter. Big mistake - next morning an email arrived telling me that they had rejected my claim for non-collection because I hadn't re-booked delivery. Duh??? I was to arrange re-collection.

I phoned up to sort it out and a nice lady told me I had chosen a non-guaranteed service, so collection wasn't guaranteed. I knew delivery wasn't guaranteed on a specific date, but surely collection? What imbecile would arrange for a parcel to be collected 'at some time'? Another nice lady told me during another call that the collection day is guaranteed, but no, there was no compensation for my wasted day and a half, despite the fact that they failed to collect. Nice lady even told me she would use the guaranteed service, so I guess she doesn't have much faith in her own company.

To cut a long story short, the parcel was collected on the Wednesday. Why can't they inform people if the parcel won't be collected on the given day? They have phone numbers and email. I would have preferred that to wasting a day.

In conclusion, I would only recommend parcel2go to agoraphobics and light sleeping shift workers.

I'm not agrophobic but I'm certainly getting that way - I have been waiting for a collection of 3 parcels since 5th February, after being very wound up yesterday I was promised faithfully collection today but guess what 5.30 came no collection and no customer service line open. I am livid . But what can I do, now I have to wait until tomorrow and go through it all again - does anyone know how I get the money back so I can just go to the faithful post office . I don't think I will ever use a courier again.
<br/>I realize this is my first bad experience with parcels2go but how long can this go on for - They don't seem to reply to my emails, the on line chat doesn't work and even when I get through to the customer service its just false promises

Parcels 2 Go are useless at pickimg up items and useless at getting the job done. As for refunds, let's just say that getting blood out of a stone is a lot easier.

It took Parcels To Go 5 phone calls and e-mails to get them to collect the parcel...5 days late.
Their phone line appears to be understaffed and it is difficult to get to talk to someone.
They seem to have zero interest in good customer services.

Parcels2Go - If you value the items you are sending, I would send them by someone else! I sent a computer base unit to someone, properly packaged and labled fragile, but it took 5 days to arrive and turned up damaged. As the recipient didn't contact me for four days I was not aware of the damage, and then tried to contact the company. I then found out that the claims department do not have a telephone number, and the "customer service" department cannot contact them or pass on messages! After two days waiting for a reply to two emails I posted off the claim form and paperwork, only to be told my claim has been disallowed because you have to complain in writing "within 14 days of the date of dispatch."

“eBayers may be aware that DHL have recently launched a...”

★★★☆☆

written by Phil Bridges on 04/06/2005

eBayers may be aware that DHL have recently launched a budget courier service called Parcels2Go (http://www.parcel2go.com/). Parcels2Go will deliver up 25Kg next day in the UK mainland for just £10.95, and a 3 day International service At £24.95 for up to 25Kg to EEC countries! Bookings are made online, and, they'll collect the goods from your front door!

I tried a test shipment (20Kg) to Holland recently and hit several 'odities'.

1)When you book online the system needs 3 or 4 days notice, so if you book a collection for the 16th the earliest it'll arrange a collection for you is the 19th. In other words, they like 3 working days notice minimum.

2)I thought it would help DHL out if I dropped the package into the local Securicor Omega depot, and, the online booking system allowed me to do this (DHL appear be to the parent company for Securicor these days?. However, when I tried to drop the package in the local Securicor depot the folks tried hard but could not accept it, DHL had not communicated the necessary parcel reference numbers. One of the ladies at Parcels2Go was very apologetic and managed to eventually get the package up from my office after took 2 attempts, again there was internal DLH comms breakdown.

3)The website boasts on-site tracking assuming you know the 12 digit 'Parcel Ident' code. Unfortunately they driver couldn't tell me what the 12 digit 'Parcel Ident' was. As ever, that very nice lady at Parcels2Go was able to furbish the info.

4)I sent the tracking link to my customer in Holland and his comments were.. (you have to pretend you have a Dutch accent here..)

"Phil .. Diss tracking serfees is abut as much gud as a chokerlate bicyle in der desert!" Although this delivery was made a couple of weeks ago I checked a few moments ago and the tracking system still thinks the package is in London!

I haven't tried the UK service but I'd suspect similar problems. Clearly It's a budget service that needs some fine tuning, take note of the above and allow yourself a few days breathing space just in case. I'm sure with time the service will mature and give Parcelforce and other a run for their money. 10 out of 10 to DHL for addressing the eBay market, the potential must be phenomenal!

I have sent two computer bases with DHL and one went missing it took 5 days to find it and looked like it had been hit with a forteen pound hammer, several times. I'm now making a claim for the base unit . watch this space!

There is no need to ask who Phil Bridges works for!! It cost me well over £5 in phone calls to find out any info, DHL who then sent me a toy model of one of thier trucks with DHL stamped on the Side, although I was dealing with P2Go, The are one and the same so don't be making excuses for them.

Having originally used this P2G when it first launched (see above) I have used have this service again recently and P2G has clearly matured from where I sit at least.
The driver came at the right time, The online tracking worked, The parcel arrived in well under 24 hours despite being a supposed 2-3 day service!

I also received a 10% discount for pasting the P2G logo in my eBay auction so for a tenner or so I got a 10Kg parcel hauled 140 miles in under 24 hours, not too shaby eh.

P2G, if you get to read this it would be really useful if users could drop and collect parcels at the local DHL depot, would save some negative vibes from eBay I suspect ?

Potential users - bear in mind that if a company has a 100 customers 99 of which are happy and one who isn’t - chances are you’ll never hear how the 99 got on, but you’ll hear about that odd 1 unhappy customer for sure...
