I hired a car through Argus car hire. Paid extra for additional cover. However the car hire people in Bergamo ignored all that and asked for extra payment to improve cover. Also the car was supposed to have AC but it is not working and the hire company have dismissed it saying they don’t have a different car and to speak to customer service who doesn’t answer the call. Can’t even complain to Argus car hire and they have asked me to contact the car hire company and have marked my issue as resolved.

The wait when we got to Klaas Wagen was a little long but that was purely because a lot of people came to pick up a car at the same time. This is not a reflection on the staff! He was incredibly informative and helpful from the moment I sat down with him. He went through everything in detail and even gave me information about the best routes to take in the local area. We had the car for 6 days to drive around Portugal and it was definitely the best decision we could have made. Everything was superb, the car was very good and everything ran smoothly. Thank you!!

Took 30 mins to find where to get the shuttle, then we waited a while (30mins) for the shuttle, seeing shuttles come and go yet not taking us. But when we finally got there it was quick and the car was amazing! One of the nicest cars I've ever driven. Was expecting a small Ypsilon but got a 'dr' Italian 4.0l SUV! Lush lush lush!! Leather seats and trim and so nice to drive!! Good staff at the desk. I lived this car!!!! Just remember to pin in your map app where you picked up the car so you can remember where to go when you drop it off! ????????♂️????

argus car hire is a 100% bad company(dont trust the positiv reviews)!!!!!!!! they are acting like a third party company (which means.... They hire other local car rentals). if for any reason you cant get your car at the destination point.... Now the surprise.... Argus car hire. Im still looking how i can open a law suite against them).... Will keep your already paid money(over their own rental portal) just sending you a message, that unfortunately they cant give you a refund. So they dont give you the offered service but they keep your money even if you couldnt recieve your car...... Nice???????? beware... Im shure that this is something normal for argus car hire... when problems appear they just keep your money and dont care about any help or refunding any money. rent your car better somewhere else.... I lost (for the moment) 265 euro for not having a master or visa card but had an american express which wasnt accepted from the local car rental (as a guarantee for any further problems)but accepted from argus like a car rental payment......... Searching for easy money?

Normally I find renting a car a real pain and something I don’t look forward to, but this was a completely different experience. I usually use Argus Car hire as the broker company and they’re always good, but Auto Holidays were absolutely excellent. The whole process was incredibly smooth and efficient, but most of all from the lady at the stand in arrivals to the man who checked the car out/in they were super friendly. The car was cheap and cheerful, but worked perfectly for our needs. I couldn’t recommend this experience more.

Argus and the provider took too much money from our account after the hire. I have complained over 20 times and receive an automated and irrelevant response each time. It is clear they have never read my emails as there automated emails do not address the points raised. They are either unlawful or incompeten. Either way, do not use.

Terrible. We used Argus to book a car and despite putting in my flight arrival time AND my flight number (arrival 9.15pm) the car rental place closed at 9pm they cancelled our booking and took our money. We were left high and dry. Would NOT recommend and will NOT use again.

I WOULD GIVE 0 * IF I COULD. **If you have had a similar problem and you're from the UK contact Trading Standards.** I did not receive the car because they failed to provide my flight schedule to the car hire company, even though I provided my flight number to them and it clearly states on their website that they pass these details on to the car hire company. I arrived at the desk after being stuck on the plane for an extra 4 hours to then wait in a queue for 1.5 hours and then denied service because I was "late". Now Argus Car Hire is trying to use any excuse to not give me my money back, first they said that I should have changed my collection time while I was on the plane when I found out my flight was delayed - RIDICULOUS. Then they said that I would have never made my booking according to the flight schedule. They used a website flightera.net which has completely incorrect details of my flight. I accidentally booked using the wrong email address and didn't get a confirmation and changed the email address way before the date of collection. They have changed the email on my booking and I can only access the "Manage Booking" area with my updated email. I put a complaint in using the updated email address, they sent the reply to the email address I no longer have access to and they are now telling me that I can't reopen my complaint unless I reply to the original email. Do these people have any brain cells? This is worst customer service I have ever encountered. I have already contacted Trading Standards regarding this business as I believe they are a sham company. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Pay more to hire a car from a legitimate company rather than these people. You'll waste more energy trying to get your money back from them.

DO NOT USE l we booked through Argus car hire as they had the most competitive prices. Arrived in Turin and they wouldn’t allow us to collect the car and told us to contact the broker direct. They were extremely unhelpful when I told them this. We then had to use SIXT who were very helpful at short notice however the cost of this was 5x the amount we had paid through Argus. STAY CLEAR! Would not recommend

Günstiges Auto, leider Anmietung ausserhalb von Flughafen, Shuttletransport hat länger gedauert bis er gekommen ist und der Abholstandort war schwer zu finden. Ansont zufrieden mit dem Auto und Preis Leistungsverhältnis.

My cousin arrived form Italy at SFO and immediately went to the Alamo car rental to pick up his vehicle- he was not able to produce a credit card as he discovered that it was lost. Alamo would not rent him a car. I rented him a car under my name. Several days later, he inquired about a refund, and was told by ARGUS that he would not get a refund. We find this unacceptable and unreasonable as the 750 euros that he paid Argus was never claimed by the rental car company. We agree to a reasonable penalty, but the complete loss of his 750 euros is robbery and completely immoral. There needs to be some empathy and consideration for situations that are beyond normal control.

Argus Car Hire (=Car Trawler) rented me a car from a service station (Europcar) that was closed for the time of the pick-up. The provider did not hand me over the car the next morning (when I showed up at the first minute of the opening time), declaring that Argus would not allow a late pick-up. All call centers denied acceptance of the fact that they rent out cars at stations that are either closed or do not exist. There was no refund, no apology and I lost over 2000€ which is quite amount for our family. Needless to say that we could not start our vacation due to their mistake.

No Argus office at the airport and the car collection point was just an empty area of the carpark. No one was there so I telephoned the help desk but no answer. Called Argus head office who confirmed our booking was fine and checked time and location, but they also couldn't contact the local agent. Stranded, miles from hotel, we had to pay for emergency transport. But when we got home Agrus changed their story, saying we weren't there on time, even though we were on phone to them within 7 minutes of collection time asking where the car is.

Online car rental always easy... Buy the 'top up insurance' ever time... Always - and I mean always - told by hire car companies at Alicanate (even if Ive purchased through their own sites) that they dont recognize the insurance and want to upsell at the airport. We are regular users and now decline and pay £1000 dep on Credit card but it would be WONDERFUL if this palaver didnt happen everytime, and most frustratingly when youre tired and grumpy and just want to get away from the airport

The process of online booking was very clear with all information displayed logically. Prices were excellent compared to others. I chose auto holidays through the arguscarhire website although some reviews were not complimentary as it was at the airport and not needing the shuttle. Everything worked perfectly, the car was ready, clean and I was even upgraded to an automatic car. Return was no hassle too. Staff were extremely polite, helpful and efficient. I did not have to wait at all. This was at Herakleion, Crete. Highly recommended
