“It works”

This is a great way to control your food intake, I have been using nutracheck for just under a week and have shed pounds!!! I love the barcode app which allows me to scan foods so easy and simple, the only thing which is a little frustrating is the library of food on the iPhone app is limited certain brands or chains are not there so they have to be manually Inputted in regards of calories and fat contents, but you can get around this and hopefully the food library will be updated as the site recieves more users.

“The only way to lose weight.”

★★★★★

written by alanhathaway on 05/02/2013

I was referred to Nutracheck by a friend after struggling to lose weight and 8 months later after following nutrachecks guidance I lost 5 stone! Nutracheck has really changed my life and improved my confidence 10 fold! I chose Nutracheck because: - Its not a diet, it teaches you again how to eat but it does it without you knowing it. - I'm a young bloke and I didn't want to go to "meetings" and be humiliated. - It has a smartphone app and a bloody brilliant website thats so so easy to use. - Its food diary is huge and you never need to add your own items. - It appears (and certainly was) to work! Some further details. (I'm struggling here to fully picture how good it is you just need to try it to notice). The forums are an amazing addition, if you are down there's so many people on there that have been there and done that so quickly pick you up (people power in action!) and are willing to teach you and motivate you. On the forums if you post something a rosette appears, Its amazing what affect a little rosette does but it act as a huge bragging right! and motivates you even more. I really can't thank nutracheck enough, its seriously improved my life so much. Just try it you wont be disappointed. (But if you do you need to be truthful and honest to yourself - log everything).

“This is the way to lose! Easily and happily.”

My best friend bought me a 3 month membership to this website when I was stressed and upset about the fact I felt I would never be able to lose weight, and I will be forever grateful to her for it. It's truly the best thing I've ever done for my health and well being. I've never been a person who could diet. I hate the very idea of it and I've run away from anything that seemed suspiciously diet-like. Nutracheck is a healthy eating practice. You can eat anything you like (today's been a junk food day for me and I've had crackers and cheese and hot chocolate and flapjack and pizza... not all together!) as long as it fits into your calorie allowance. Crucially, I'm never hungry! The database is magnificent and there are few items you can't find. It's also easy to create your own food items, or build recipes for meals you cook a lot, which saves you the trouble of adding each ingredient separately every time you cook. But most important is the forum support. The forums are full of the most wonderful people who provide support and encouragement at any time of the day or night. Most importantly there's no pressure to lose weight fast, or to just get thin. The emphasis is on health and being patient and gentle with yourself while retraining yourself and your eating habits. In fact I've seen several instances of people saying, "Are you sure you want to lose any more weight, you look amazing already!" I've been on Nutracheck just over 4 months and I've lost 3 stone to date. I'm feeling amazing and so excited to have conquered my weight issue. I have 1 stone to go, and I feel certain that with what I've learned on this site it will all stay off for good. I wholeheartedly recommend this site to anyone who would like to lose weight. I have already recommended it to people close to me. I love it, I think it is wonderful.

“Excellent - taking my food diary out and about.”

★★★★★

written by on 21/01/2013

Nutracheck is great because it has an app that I've downloaded to my phone too. Not only can I fill my diary in at home, but on the app wherever I am (as long as I have a phone signal). The food reports are great too, so it works great in terms of filling my diary in on the app and reviewing how it's all going when I log onto my computer in the evening. I'm steadily losing weight, and it's the most successful diet I've been on to date.

“Easy to use. Increase your knowledge at your own pace”

I like that I can keep track of my calorie and fat intake. I don't use it to diet, i tend to get a bit obsessional if i do that, but just to keep myself informed. I use it a bit sporadically though. Sometimes I use it for a few days just to shock myself into realising how many calories are in all the little extras I'm in the habit of eating.

So many of these things are a scam but this site is really good. it's brilliantly thought out, easy to use both on the ipone and online. I am loosing 2kg/week easily and enjoying myself. The calorie counter itself is worth the money, it always has the food you search and the search is instant. You can invent/log your own recipes ie food you regularly eat like a home made ham salad sandwich, so you don't have to keep entering the same ingredients over again for these home made meals. it tells you how much fat you've had, how many calories eaten/burned by doing exercise. If you are serious about healthy eating and loosing weight by calorie counting then you need this, especially the iphone app.

“An Easy Journey”

written by quilter on 02/01/2012

I found NC with a google search and signed up for the 5 day free trial. Day two I just paid the money and it is the best thing I have ever done for ME! I have lost weight many times over the years with other diets and always put it all back on as they have never fitted in with 'life' NC is not a diet, it is a way of eating that fits in with life. I have lost 4.5 stone with VERY little effort and cutting nothing out of my diet. As far as I am concerned calories are calories no matter if they are raw carrot and lettuce or red wine and cake as long as they are in the diary and you are honest with the diary you will lose weight. I am prrof of that and have no hesitation in recommending Nutracheck to everyone who wants to listen! The site is easy to use, all the tools you need for weight loss are at your finger tips. It is excellent value for money, the admin for the site respond very quicky to any queries/problems and the forums are great! So what are you waiting for? Just Do it!

I have been with Nutracheck before and lost a lot of weight with them. Now after stuffing myself with too much food on holiday i'm with them again. It's a great tool and much more advanced in my opinion than the WW online weight checker tool. Plus it's value for money for the same thing. The food index is extensive and if what you're eating is not on there it is very easy to add. Lots of tips and if you like to cook, recipes available as well as an online forum to talk to other people and share your weight loss goals/stories.

Joined www.nutracheck.co.uk at the beginning Jan 2011 wanting to loose 2stone which i thought was a pipe dream as i'd been overweight and unhappy about my weight for years. Just over 2 months on and i'm 1stone 9lb lighter, a dress size less and feel the happiest about my weight in years. The site is so easy to use and it really is simple to follow. I have learnt so much about what's in food and how I need to change to continue the weight loss and keep it off for life. I would never have thought it could be this easy and although i'm only 6lb off my goal i love being part of the site and putting in my weigh in figures each week and getting my medal (computer ones of course). It really is a life changing site and highly reccommend it to anyone who is at a time when they want to make a change and be honest each day about what they are eating. When you have to key it in and see exactly whats in what you are eating you soon learn whats right and whats wrong and well its as simple as that. Give it a go!

★★★★★

written by on 20/01/2011

I lost 17lbs in seven weeks with this site and all for the price of a bottle of wine a week (and without the calories!!). It's like having a personal diet and fitness consultant who encourages you along. It's incredibly easy and I like being able to give my own daily feedback to my progress too. Some people have mentioned in reviews that the exercise calorie-burning totals are a bit inaccurate but does it really matter if you're a few calories out at the end of the day? It's the overall effect that matters and over a period of time I'm sure the odd calorie above or below your target balances itself. On saying that, if you're not honest with what you enter in your diary then there's no point in doing it, but who are you cheating if you're not honest? Only yourself. Love the site!

written by on 11/01/2011

I have lost over 2 stone since August by using this web-based diet diary. What it has done for me is give me total control over my calorie intake, which I have never had, and reward me for my calorie expenditure through exercise. It has motivated me to diet effectively where I have never been able to maintain another diet plan. Furthermore: I have not given up alcohol nor has there been any need to do so.

Amazing site. I found it about 2 and a half years ago and lost 4.5 stone (in fact 5 at my lowest but I've settled at a few pounds above that) and have managed to keep it off ever since. I use the site still to help me manage my weight and get those extra Christmas pounds off from when you don't try too hard to be good. As others have said its a very simple concept, though you do have to be honest. But if you are it is pretty well foolproof. I didn't give anything up just changed the food balance - so roast dinner every weekend! It's a site that lets you live the old addage 'eat less and move more' without much pain

written by danish37 on 25/01/2010

Fantastic concept, it really works. I had no idea how many calories I was getting through every day - I have lost 2.5 stone so far and am nearly at my goal weight now. Diary is really simple to use, the forums are great too, everyone is really supportive when you have a bad day and the staff are very very helpful if you have any problems or need some suggestions to keep going. It's the first 'diet' that I've not given up on and I have really learnt the value of food so I am absolutely sure I will not ever put the weight back on. It doesn't feel like a diet either, I still have chocolate when I want to, just as long as I don't go over my target. The site is easy to use and with the exercise, I am also fitter than I have been my entire adult life. As I don't have to embarass myself going to a weigh in class (just do it at home), I felt much more comfortable when I first started as I was a little unsure about sharing my weight with other people. On Nutracheck, you only tell people what you want to share. Fantastic, can't rate it high enough.

“There is no magic to the principles behind nutracheck...”

★★★★★

written by on 11/01/2010

There is no magic to the principles behind nutracheck - calorie restriction and exercise. I consider myself reasonably well educated on diet, nutrition and exercise and so previously shunned this sort of site - my thinking was that it couldn't teach me anything I didn't know already. I have to say that nutracheck has made a phenomenal difference to my efforts to lose weight and maintain fitness. I had underestimated the psychological benefits of getting a green tick at the end of the day and recording my progress.

The discipline of logging calories and exercise makes me more conscious of what I am eating (in an informed rather than obsessive manner) and encourages me to move more. I have identified hidden calories in my diet - particularly those skinny lattes and glasses of red wine. Using the diary helps me plan my calorie consumption so that I can have a takeaway and a couple of glasses of wine without guilt or weight gain.

The diary is very easy to use - containing a huge range of food items, including most of the sandwich chains. It also has the capacity for you to manually enter foods and create and store your own receipes for meals that you cook at home.

Exercise is also easy to enter. You can either rely on the typical calorie consumption values for a particular type of exercise or enter a precise number of calories burnt. I also now wear a pedometer daily and enter my step count.

The forums and articles are a further useful resource.

My only slight criticism is that it is BMI focused. I train hard and body fat would be a more useful measurement. That said, you set your own goals and I judge my progress by what I see in the mirror and what my fat monitor and clothes tell me rather than being a slave to BMI.

I am so thoroughly converted that I kept up my membership once I hit my target weight to help me maintain - after all membership doesn't cost more per month than a couple of Starbucks lattes!

This is a fantastic website. It has all the features you need, as well as loads of features you didn't realise you needed! Combining calorie counting with exercise, this website encourages you to eat healthily by telling you how many fruit/vegetable portions you have eaten too. I couldn't recommend it highly enough.

“This is an excellent site if you are prepared to be...”

★★★★★

written by on 30/12/2009

This is an excellent site if you are prepared to be honest about what you eat and what exercise you take!
It's based on a food diary - thousands of foods listed plus you can enter details of you're own. The tools allow you to analyse your eating patterns and track your weight. It works out your fats/carbs/proteins ratio plus the % of other key nutrients. I realised I needed to cut down my fats and up my protein and that I need more calcium and iron.
It's allowed me to tackle the extra pounds that I carried (only just not overweight but problems with an arthritic knee)and then work out a diet plan that sustains me at my new lower weight. If I put on weight - as I have over Christmas - it will help me get back to where I need to be. I also use it to help a much more overwieght friend and she is doing wonderfully!

★★★★★

written by on 18/11/2009

fantastic! all you do is put in what you have eaten for the day, then if its not already there-you add it to to catalogue of foods! it adds up your calories and fat for that day. if you did enough excersise for that day, and coverd your calories then you get a big green tick. you also can do food swaps! put in something that you like (alot) that is quite fatty with lots of calories-like chocolate-then click 'swap' it will bring up hundreds of different chocolate items and tell you how much fat and calories are in each one-it makes it easier to decide which one to buy. add your excersise too. Nutracheck tells you how much excersise you need to do to loose weight. nutracheck is worth its money for me. no banned foods!! its about quantity!

I have been a member for 2 years now, I subscribe to the App only but I find this suits me. As far as I'm aware I have access to everything that I need, and I can certainly enter as many foods as I need to. If you need a definitive answer then can I suggest you contact Nutracheck direct; they are extremely helpful. When you become a member you will also have access to their forum platform. Although I don't post to this I often read it as I find this is also an excellent source of information. Btw, I've lost over 3 stone and I'm now maintaining my weight and have been doing so for over 6 months now. I can eat and drink whatever I want but have total control as I'm fully aware of my weekly calorie intake and therefore adjust certain meals accordingly. This was the best £29.50 (I think) that I have spent in years.

There is a free trial period and during that time you are limited to how many foods you can add,but once you join and pay then it is limitless. The forums are excellent even if you don't write on them the information you can find is brilliant. I just have the £3.99 a month membership so I can't go on the website but do everything on my mobile. It really works because it is flexible and tailored to you and offers lots of support. I've lost a stone which is what I wanted but am still a member as it helps me maintain. I highly recommend it.

What are your two options? Nutracheck lists (with photos) many ready meals that can be bought in supermarkets as well as individual components if you are going to create a dish yourself. For some restaurant chains it give information about dishes, for example Zizzi Clazone Carne Piccante, but for these there are no photos
