Ordered on Saturday and arrived Wednesday as promised. Unfortunately it had a big dent in the door (probably because delivery men had removed wrapping prior to its arrival which I believe is not supposed to happen). Promised delivery of replacement Friday but rang delivery phone line and found they had no record of replacement delivery time. They were apologetic and provided a new date which was suitable. The delivery man brought my appliances to my home, but took them away undelivered as he did not know which of the 3 days bells to press, which delayed the delivery at a time when I was due to give birth and desperately needed a new washing machine. Sadly these retailers don't seem to understand that the shop front where sales are made is a very small part of the whole picture. Retailers put customer service near the bottom of the list when it comes to service, when in fact it should be the their first priority.

<br/>They don't seem to realise the amount of stress it causes, and the amount of money wasted making fruitless phone calls to people who appear to have no idea what they are actually doing.
<br/>
<br/>If only Currys could get the customer services right then maybe we customers would be a lot more forgiving when problems occur.

Ritzmann - this has just happened to me! The delivery guys took a very quick look at the plumbing before saying that they could not disconnect the old machine or connect the new one. They assured me that once I had got a plumber to fix this problem, I could call the Currys delivery 'service' phone number to re-arrange a time for collection of my old machine. I called this number today, and was told of Currys policy that they will not collect scrap items after the purchased item has been delivered. I have lodged a complaint but am not holding my breath for any satisfactory response. Will certainly avoid Currys home delivery in future. Shameful practice.

It might be worth calling your local council office, many councils have a curb side collection service for white goods, I know ours does down here in Cornwall.

This is exactly what happened to ourselves just last week (Jan 2008). The drivers who delivered the machine took a very superficial glance at the plumbing and stated very forcefully that they could not install the new machine and hence remove the old one. They then said that we needed to rebook the scrap collection after having installed the machine ourselves. This was a lie, and the speed and accuracy at which the customer services people at Curry's were then able to recite their policy of not being able to collect scrap after delivery suggests to me that this is quite deliberate - this clearly happens a lot. and the customer services people don't care at all. Curry's will not come back. So, we will never buy from Dixons, PC World, Currys again. Rant over, but still wondering what to do now with the old washing machine.

I ordered an American type fridge/freezer from www.currys.co.ukand was quoted a price including home delivery. It was then further specified in the acknowledgements that delivery would be to my flat.

When they delivered, the fridge/freezer was just dumped in the entrance hall and left there.

Currys have bad customer service. No value for money. I am now stuck with a faulty TV I paid 600 pounds for because when I took it back to one of the stores I was told if we can't see the fault we can't replace or refund your money back. The staff at the store were saying that there was no fault with the TV and didn't believe me, I explained the colour on the TV goes funny from time to time, I have reported this matter to trading standards and am waiting for a good result. I purchased an Acer laptop at the end of January. The lid is very flimsy, and after 6 weeks, due to the flimsiness of the lid, the screen cracked and started to leak. Currys would not accept that the design was faulty, and they refused to repair it. I had to pay £275 for a new LCD just after 6 weeks.

Curry's are good at presenting and selling goods, but not at listening or helping. They do not employ enough staff, and they refused to put me through to a manager.
