I've just tried to access Live Chat because my website isn't loading only to be told it's only available 9am-5pm Mon to Fri.
<br/>What are we supposed to do at weekends when we want to find out why our websites aren't loading?? Two weeks before Christmas as well. There's no one answering the phone at weekends either.

Although my personal experience with them has improved, *steer clear* of their reseller accounts (Easynic).

I have a domain name with Easyspace, and the control panel has been improved, and support issues have been addressed relatively quickly.

On the strength of that, I opened a reseller account with Easyspace a little while ago. I paid a relatively small one-off fee, and I can sell domains and hosting to compliment my web projects without having to pay the monthly fee of a dedicated server… Read Full Review

<br/>I have been in contact via e-mail with someone at Easyspace regarding my issues, and I am pleased to say that my criticisms have not gone unnoticed. They are working on improving the service with the reseller system. :-)

<br/>Like I said before, technical support-wise I've never had a problem (apart from the odd delay when they have been busy), and up-times for hosting have been just fine.
<br/>
<br/>If you are not intending to open a reseller account I would recommend Easyspace web hosting.
<br/>
<br/>Give the reseller system some time to improve I&#039;d say......would definitely be a good value alternative to the dedicated server options.

<br/>jvhopwood - I'm not sure what or who has given you the impression that we are a "5-man band" - I can assure you we are not. I'm sorry to hear that you have had problems. Of course, I'm not entirely sure when these problems existed, but if they were recent I would be surprised, as we are now responding to virtually all support tickets within 24 hours, and our telephone lines exceed 90% answer rate regularly - which for any call centre is no mean feat.

I agree entirely about the controls. I found great difficulty in deleting some files, and access was frequently denied.

<br/>I sent umpteen tickets to Easyspace, trying to get out of their clutches to transfer hosting, but they were ignored for about a month. I finally tracked them down after some research of the company, and I discovered that they are a five-man band. However, they made the mistake of providing a fax number, and only by this means was I able to extract my domain name from their control.

Have held a number of web hosting accounts with Easyspace since 1999. Dealing with Easyspace from Australia when they are based in UK can sometimes understandably be delayed given the time differences. On most occasions, customer service by email is immediate. However, if the problem is a little more complex it can take longer to resolve - but, thus far, any issues have been resolved with me once again feeling valued as a customer. It is a little frustrating if they do occur though.

My own (not as good as your's) experience of the Easyspace support service indicates that it operates 24 hours.

Look at the testimonials on their own site - hardly any of them relate to service levels, they all relate to the ease of setting up the account initially. Absolutely terrible service. I&#039;ve experienced down time that runs into approximately a week within the last four months and of course, that doesn&#039;t include the time I&#039;ve wasted on the phone in an attempt to sort out the problems. Trying to carry on a business like this is impossible. Their servers don&#039;t seem to be able to cope with the amount of traffic and beware - if they offer to move you from one server to another, they will lose all your emails (a fact of which they don&#039;t warn you beforehand). Customer service is appalling and promises of action are frequently broken.

Our price model is quite straight forward with the only charge being for moving a domain name to another registrar, this is an admin fee which is currently set at £15+ VAT for the work required from our end.

i think your user ratings speak for themselves as you have a majority of bad feed back.

<br/>i have better things to do than spend too much time on you + we can leave honest reviews to the general public. you get paid to answer comments on forums like this etc.

<br/>plus, i run a search engine optimization business and we sometimes get paid by clients to do damage limitation on forums. we don't do all the jobs we get asked to do, as we sometimes consider them to be in the wrong and the unhappy clients to be in the right.

<br/>i don't dispute your servers have good uptime and are reliable etc, but in my experience and that of the countless clients i used to recommend your service to - your customer service lacks substance.
<br/>
<br/>the public are not stupid and they can make their own minds up. so even if i am some twisted nutter with a gripe and i have written 10 reviews (which i have not) and you spend too much time on this site and you have written 10 reviews - that still leaves a lot of reviews indicating that if customer service is an important factor when choosing your web host, then maybe it is an issue.

If you want to move your domain away, you can tell Easyspace that:

1) you registered your domain prior to IOMART taking them over (September 2004) when there was no domain transfer away charge
2) that you did not receive notification of the change to the charges

<br/>Its true that pre-2004 there was no transfer out fee, however like all businesses and services pricing will change - the fact that we&#039;ve introduced telephone support, Livechat and a raft of cheap upgrades would hopefully offset the fee of £15 to transfer a domain out.

I started with Easyspace 5 years ago, and apart from the odd niggle I was very happy with the service. Since IOMART took them over I now have to pay £50 to move domains away, and to rub salt into the wounds, the email services which used to be included are now a pay for item. Hosting prices have increased 4 fold. Easyspace say they host 500,000 web sites and receive 50 million emails PER WEEK - That's 83 emails per second using my calculations.

I've used EasySpace web hosting for several years. It's in general been OK, but there have been some problems. OK, problems do occur, but their lax and unprofessional attitude: when the website went down for several days; when they deleted the site by accident; when they said they'd get back to be on a technical question and didn't.
