Tried to do an online transfer using Firefox. Froze up half way thru. Called for help, was told to use Chrome or IE, of course they don't tell you about Firefox problems on the home page. Used Chromed, did the same thing,then tired IE with rep on the line and didn't work then received a tirade of piffle about Java and this and that essentially putting the blame on me. They wanted to give me promo code but it is useless if you can't complete the transaction. I should not be surprised though because good customer service has virtually disappeared in the US. I will use Travelex, it is a bit more complicated but have never had issues with them. Zero stars as far as I am concerned.

Will never use western union again .We are a NGO working in Ghana we needed money for release of a container in port.Go to weston union agent in uk and complete transaction send it all. workers in Ghana go for the money next day we're told the number not right after few calls to western union we are told they stopped the money. WHY someone couldn't let us know .this had called lots of problems both in uk and more in Ghana Do they not think of their actions just let the customer know, 'it's called customer service

Unfortunately they just dont seem to care.
Maybe the staff are lazy but if that was the case the management should solve it and they don't.
So the conclusion is that its a management problem that they just don't care.
Unfortunately, they have such a large world wide presence mostly represented by corner shops and presumably are not worried about upsetting a few customers.
They have not responded to my last four emails!

for a person that can not drive (eyesite) it sounded like a good deal ! i tried to send money to a someone via the website ,sounds good right ? wrong it took an act of congress to complete the transaction.....not my fault western unions, not across the country but across Texas. once Igot the tracting number the wait time on their end was almost an hr........not min. ok so I tried again three days later after talking to the card company to make sure there was no problem on my card or my end .....got on line went thru the website deal ..........bingo can not complete the transaction ?so I get a live operator she has all my info but i have to repeat it all over again, we are going to do a phone transfer of money ,i give out all my secure stuff to this person? who or where she is i don't know but it is western union right one of the oldest company in America ,her english was questionable ??? after the repeat questions she tell me to hold for a tracking number.......guess what she comes back and tells me she can not do it ?????? in a nut shell western union sucks big time and if i have something wrong on my card I will look to western union ....do not use them !!!

I have never in all my 76 yrs found a company that deserved being shut down more than Western Union. If you wish to be treated as a criminal, money launderer or a manipulated old fool being taken in by a woman then this is the company for you. A couple of hours before leaving for holiday had to send some money to my partner of 8 yrs on the other side of London, they took the cash for which I paid a service charge of £40, said cash could be drawn next morning. Following day received call in France that WU refused to release cash, many such calls followed over next two days from my partner, very upset so even considered flying back to sort the problem, frankly my holiday was ruined. Am now back in UK and trying unsuccessfully to recover funds via (non-existent) Customer Services. They claim to be 'protecting me' from being scammed by unscrupulous 'foreign' woman, regardless of being told that I have known her for 8 yrs!!!! The only criminals in this case are W U themselves, typical Yank owned company intent on interfering in everybody's lives. HOW FKNG DARE YOU TELL ME HOW TO MANAGE MY MONEY!!!! Stay clear of this company. There is NOTHING good to say about them or their service, should be closed down ASAP.

such a rubish company and their crazy service.i have transferred £30 to my brother in India as he was in some sticky situation.i have done the money transfer 8 0'clock in the morning and afterward I got email that I need to call them for some verification.i can't believe when I call them up they said they need a id no. Passport no or driving licence no of receiver.i told them it's hard as it was 2 a.m in India.such a studip staff they have the customer service lady wasn't ready to listen.
Please it's a request to everyone who are thinking to use their service.Do not use their service even its emergency.

I attempted to make a transfer to my wife earlier today. I had to call them for an issue they were having while processing the transfer request. I gave them all the nessecary info, which was all accurate by the way. they went on to still decline my transaction. Nothing about their service was enjoyable at all. I do not and will not recommend this service to anyone ever. if you own stock in this company, I would get out before you lose your money, because this company has found its way to the crapper.

Funny thing, exact same thing happened to my husband today. Tried to send me money for just over 5 hours now. Every time he called they made excuse after excuse how it must have been his bank, or it must have been his mistake on info. He had talked to numerous managers and a district manager. He even got a reps # to call him back if it didn't work again. Go figure it wasn't going through so he calls and asks for that gentleman and gives his ext number and they say how they can't transfer calls to people like that... It has been a nightmare. Honest to God, if anyone uses this company, they will regret it, or get screwed over. Worst service ever.

I phoned you guys one month ago and requested my transaction records as emergency. I provided all my information over the phone and one of your representatives told me that you will send me the records within a month. I've waited for a month and finally received a letter from you but it's a customer access request form. That's so so so dissapointed to me because I've been waiting for a month and what I got wasn't what I requested lol. I provided all my fking information over the phoned and your representative didn't tell me that I still need to fill out the fking customer access form. I'll never use your company again!

Once again...for the third successive time I've had to traverse London to find a Western Union oultlet that works to receive money.. The Western Union sign is everywhere but 90% of the little shops and so called outlets don't work, technical problems, computer not working, unbelievable poor standards and service! WORDS OF ADVICE!! Shut down these little outlets, shops and take your badge off the displays..Your reputation is being destroyed .. Concentrate only on main solid and dependable outlets.. I was the first time use western union to send money , but it was the last time as well. I sent the money to my friend on Saturday, by Wednesday my friend told me because the account number is one number missing when I send the money , sohe been told can't take the money. It have to been refund to me. I went to the branch , found out the staff who do the transfer for me,she missing one number when she key in the account number to the computer, I been told to wait 48 hours to be refund. So went back on Friday, they did the refund but said the transfer fee need to be refund separate, need wait 24 hours to be called, but they never called me. So I went back on Monday, the branch staff called the office, finally they said CANT REFUND THE TRANSFTER FEE, EVEN IT WAS THEIR STAFF FAULT, THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. WHAT IS THE HELL OF THAT. YES, IT WAS THEIR FAULT, BUT REFUSE TO REFUND. NEVER EVER TO USE THEIR SERVICE AGAIN.

I am a registered / verified user. Have transferred money before to my family but found I couldn't transfer anything at all. Website kept refusing to authorise the transfer. Visited Thomson travel to do it there and they had the same issue. Then my appalling customer service saga started. I logged a call with them and spent the next week going round in circles over the same issues despite me writing them down so a child could understand them! They blatantly ignore all previous correspondence just to ask the same questions again so the ticket is off their queue and appears answered. They then claimed there is nothing wrong with my account yet two weeks later it mysteriously started working again. During this time they kept asking me the same questions over and over again (e.g. have you visited an agent, can you confirm what the problem is, what message are you getting). Finally I asked for their complaints process at which point they have given me the runaround again. Basically they are ignoring my request for their complaints process. I bet if I was not in the UK and was based in the US I would get decent customer service. Basically it's a most appalling, condescending and pointless customer service I have ever experienced.

I send Money to the Philippines in USD and it gets exchanged for local currency, how is it or how is it calculated your getting less then the current rate Internationally. who sets the exchange rate I pay a fee in U.S. and in reality the receiver pays a fee also. are Western union's independently owned. just does not seem fair getting charged to send and for the receiver to get.

We had a family emergency, transferred money thru Western Union ...Horrible customer service.. could not contact any customer service phone number provided by them in India... Received no money and no email notifications as mentioned .. and WU says we did not respond.. so the transaction was cancelled at the end of the day....the only way we could reach them was to contact them to US numbers...., they say transaction has to be made again.......there is only one good I can say about WU with our exp... never use it or u will get into trouble...

India has stopped taking usa money from western union to banks or for person to pick up. state bank of india says new law. I have sent previously but the wont take anymore. western union says in india they can' dispense from usa. why. I have had good luck previously with western union. its not their fault, something is going on in India with usa currency.

I have used Western Union successfully for several years to make 2 money transfers to Africa from the UK. Recently I have nothing but problems. WU are not remotely interested. My telephone complaint was dealt with by someone who had a very poor grasp of the English language and obviously did not understand what I was telling them. (Neither the promised follow-up phone call or e-mail came). Replies to e-mail complaints did not address the problem either and I was not refunded the money which was taken from my bank account and which was NOT in the MPESA mobile wallet despite an e-mail saying it was available. From my own research I quickly found the mobile phone service was down so this was likely to be the cause of the failed transfer but at no time has WU provided me with this information! It took more than 2 weeks for the money to become available – totally unacceptable. I will not be using this “service” again. WU really needs to start listening to its customers…..(Review would not allow me to give no stars :/)

I tried sending $100.00 to a friend of mines son---(the friend of mind died and his son had no way to get to his fathers funeral) There was "an error on the pay out side" was what I kept getting told. I have at this point spent over 5 and a half hours on the phone with no resolve in the past 38 days in getting a refund. The customer service will continually lie to you to get you off of the phone, hang up on you, or you will be able to hardly understand the customer service reps. I an closing my checking account because I don't trust the company with my debit card information. I absolutely hate Wal_Mart but this is one instance where I would refer you to Wal Marts money service ANY DAY over this incompetent company!

from aug 2014 to may 2015 money is not deliveded so much calls wu but no result even on 100 doller paid fees $10 terrible . DDDDDoooo noooot belive what the say . no reeeesults. frustrated from service. 0 fees transaction excuses . then talk to customer service . they will suggest to go to wu agent and pay fees. then what it means 0 fees on line on credit card . all fraud. careful Find other way

They have the worst customer service and it is a nightmare getting your money. Had to call my sister to have her talk to headquarters to square everything out and make a formal complaint. I told her to use Venmo. But she didn't listen. I think she will now. The girls at the 901 south Bristol Santa Ana location are horrible. The way they treated the guy before me was just as frustrating.

On this date 8/May/2015. I had send money to nigeria and it was refundeddue to your team result. Pleas let me know why. I had checked with the POLICE here Commerical Affair dept. and was told that they didnot given western union any instruction etc. I had a case in court sometimes back and it was proved that i did nothing wrong also was heavily supporfting westernu union organisation in service and had never once make any claim from you. my case in court was settle the the Police had withdraw all charges against me. Although western union representative was call to court on my case. I was set up by unknown . I have a copy of the Police withdrawal report which i can send to you. I have friends and relatives living aboards which i need to send money too. In nigeria ,Ghana etc . Australia, uK. Please check on your records. i will like to contact you for more details to clear the air. furnish me the telephone nos. I have been with western union since 2004 that makes it 11 years now. I have used their in shop service and online. The online service has to be one of the worst thing ever. You may ask why you were using them for such a long time if you don’t like them. The simple reason “Need” I didn’t have any other option. All the other companies either needed to me to go into their shops which is not possible for me due to my job or They don’t have online system and bank is not an option when you need to send money every month and sometime more often and urgent. Every month or alternative month they had a new problem for me, her is a list of excuses. • Your account is not verified (not sure which account because Bank account is none of their business and my online account with says when I log in “Verified ” (Bull *§) • Your bank has rejected the payment (obviously you are company with the worst reputation but why didn’t you tell me that so I can remediate that why I had to check it after a week and then call you? • Twice they just kept my money when I tried to pay into bank account to my family luckily it was only tiny amount as a test. • Many times they sat on my money and just refused point blank that I ever made any transaction Avoid them like plague but I know some time you can be really tied up and have no choice. Best of luck!! The latest one is all of a sudden they want to verify me again and want me to show them my bank statement and a latter from my bank to prove that it is my bank account. No Thank you very much !!!

Were you able to recover the money. I am in the same situation. I have phoned more than 100 times. Email customer care and nothing has been done. I don't know what to do.
