“would have left me £1300 out of pocket”

I booked flights with e-bookers which included four flights from the uk to mexico with internal flights while I would be in mexico. I have two middle names. In transferring my name to the aeromexico booking, ebookers mangled my name, making one of middle names my surname and removing my surname entirely. When I first got the confirmation I assumed my surname was missing because of the length of my full name. When I came to select my seats a month before the flight I noticed the entire surname missing. I immediately called and explained the issue. After two weeks of messing around with forms, sending them copies of my passport, being on hold for an hour every time I called them, them hanging up on me constantly and them repeatedly asking for my 'marriage certificate to explain why I had change my surname' (i hadn't). They finally sent me a curt email to say the airline wouldn't change the name at all and my only option was to cancel the £570 ticket with a refund of £70 in taxes only and rebook a ticket for £1000. £500 Wasted and an extortionate £1000 basic economy ticket. I called them in tears, the guy on the end of the phone hung up on me. I called again still in tears, the guy said he would 'try one last time to ask the airline and would call me back'. He never called me back. No one ever replied to my emails after this. Completely at a loss I guessed the email of an executive leadership team member of the airline and explained what had happened. Within an hour he had replied and asked for my number. Within another hour his assistant had called me and my ticket had been cancelled and a new one issued free of charge. I was speechless - how could ebookers have let me down so monumentally. Essentially, ebookers are more than useless. They are heartless and completely incompetent. Aeromexico are golden and have a customer for life (but one that will be booking directly and avoiding expedia/ ebookers).

“Ebookers is a completely despicable, incompetent...”

Ebookers is a completely despicable, incompetent company. Don't use them! I booked a ticket, paid for it thru Ebookers, and got a confirmation that all was well. Then Ebookers told me they couldn't process my payment and were cancelling my reservation, even though the charge showed up on my credit card, and the credit card people said they fully approved the charge. For the next 3 days I was in limbo, as the charges were still "pending" on my card. I couldn't make alternative arrangements. Ebookers had no number to call and wouldn't communicate by email. Eventually, the charges were reversed and the flight I'd booked (and wanted badly) was cancelled. I had to book a new flight and pay a lot more. Don't use Ebookers!

“Lier, horrible customer service, experience stressful...”

I have bought the flight ticket through enookers website which was including 20 kg baggages according to their website otherwise they charged me 101 $ for my 20 kg bagage in the departure airport and they told me I have to pay the same amount again as I am returning. According to Wow airline, which was the air line'sname, it is all ebookers fault that is told in their site 20 kg baggages is including ticket price. I send them email during my vacation , but they send me an automatic email that they would contact me whitin 48 hrs. Finally nobody came back to me. In deed, it was an awful experience.

“Hotel Booked - but actually, NOT BOOKED!”

Regrettably, I wouldn't recommend e-bookers to anyone. I booked a hotel I knew well through e-bookers - it all looked in order - I received email confirmation including an itinerary. Turned up at said hotel to be told that not only did they have no record of my booking, but they have never heard of e-bookers either. Luckily the hotel had a spare room and fit us in, but we would have been well and truly snookered if they had not (arriving late evening in a rural setting). Of course by now, I have handed over my debit card details to e-bookers, but have also had to pay the hotel direct, so rest assured I will be checking my bank account frequently to ensure I don't end up paying twice! It's the sort of hassle customers can do without!

“Ripped off by Ebookers”

I had to change a flight to New Orleans on 25 April 2017. I was told I was due a partial refund and that it would be paid into my account in 5 to 7 days. I phoned a few times. It takes ages to get through to speak to someone. When I did manage to get through I was told I had to email them. I've emailed 3 times and have only had an automatic response saying they would deal with it in 48 hours, but that hasn't happened. Beware using Ebookers as they are totally unreliable in my experience.

“Misleading conditions on flight tickets!”

Do not buy flight tickets on Ebookers. They are lying on the site - and have misleading information on ticket conditions. I purchased 2 tickets - ebookers conditions in bold lettering: TICKETS ARE REFUNDABLE. Turns out they are now refusing to do a refund and claiming it is standard text to put on their site. They are lying bluntly to costumers and not willing to either remove the text or honor their clear mistake by effecting the full refund. Will never use this site again.

“Never use this agency again”

I am here to show my indignation regarding this subject. I received the bank transfer in my account but instead of the 72,932.28 Thai baths that you took from my account on the 07/01/2017, I received 66,825.87 Thai baths on the 26/01/2017. This is unbelievable. Since the beguining it was clear that I have no fault on this matter. I booked the flight with you, you took the money and then decided to cancel my trip just like that and after being payed. My client was at the airport and couldn't board on the plane, he had to stay one night in Bangkok, payed the hotel, taxi and everything and there wasn't at any time any consideration from your company regarding all the costs and consequences of your action. After several calls and mails I was assured the money would be returned in 4 days and it took 21 days to have my money back and when you finally did it, the transfer doesn't cover the payment of the trip that I was never allowed to do. I Asked the full amount that ebookers took from my account With any more excuses and what they told me was due a exchange ratings I received just this amount and they can't do nothing!!! SERIOUSLY??? This is no way to treat your clients, has I said it´s unbelievable that I stayed 21 days without my money for a trip that didn't happened because of you and end receiving less money after paying all the expenses of your mistake.

“Dont use Gold car rentals”

Booked a car from e bookers in Nov for a week in Grand Canaires,e bookers took my money and passed me on to Gold car in Granda canires.When i arrived at the Gold car desk i was asked to sign a form and give my credit card as security which i did.I returned the car full of fuel as i was supposed to. On my return home i checked my credit card and found that Gold cor had taken 222.95euro from my account. I contacted e bookers and got through to India and was assured my money would be returned,i just had to e mail Gold car all would be solver. Unfortunate Gold car replied saying that i signed for extra insurance which was NEVER mentioned to me at the check in desk. If i had only read the reviews on gold car i would have stayed well clear of Gold car and e bookers. Beware of Gold car and read the reviews PLEASE.

“Ripped off”

Booked a BA flight to Toronto. The price was £1200 when searched on the website, but they charged me £1331, which I only noticed when the booking completed. Also they stated there would be a CC fee, but did not say what it was. At the end of the booking I noticed it was a wrapping £32! I wrote an email of complaint to customer service, but they did not even bother to reply. It feels very much like I've been swindled. I would never use this site for a booking again and user other to be very careful when booking through it.

“T&C pages long”

Was just reviewing the terms and conditions of my flight anticipating a flight date change and was amazed that it was 2 pages long....really...why To make it worse....I was more confused after reading the t & c than before when I had no info So I picked up the phone to find out what this flight change would cost but gave up after waiting 15 minutes in the call centre queue Big black mark ebookers from me

“WORST SERVICE AND RUDEST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!”

It was the worst experience ever!! I purchased a ticket for 702 pounds to return to South Africa to apply for my Spouse Visa to allow me to return to my husband and 2 children. Its a very hard process for a family as one parent needs to leave for 2-3 weeks to await a visa to be approved or denied!! My daughter fell very ill 2 days prior to my flight with Lufthansa, she has a history with epilepsy so leaving her here unwell with no way of returning once my passport is handed in was not a option. I moved my Visa appointment. I made a call to Ebookers to get my date changed on my flight- my 1st call lasted 20 minutes before someone picked up and then dropped the call. On my second attempt I waited 15 min for someone to pick up before I was transferred twice. A ticket that was issued with the Terms "changes to this ticket will incur charge fees' have now become a "NO CHANGES WILL BE ALLOWED" I asked to speak to a manager but none was on the floor and I was said if I have a complaint I should try email it. I missed my flight due to not being able to make a date change due to my child being ill beyond my control. 702.97 POUNDS IS LOADS OF MONEY FOR A FAMILY OF 4 PEOPLE WHERE ONLY MY HUSBAND CAN PROVIDE!!! SHAME ON YOU EBOOKERS AND SHAME ON LUFTHANSA! TWO COMPANIES THAT WILL NEVER SEE ANY BUSINESS FROM ME. And I will post this review on a weekly basis on facebook and any social media platform I can find!

“Terrible experience”

I recently booked my flight from Dublin to Riyadh. On airport the primary airline for the 1st leg of my journey could not find booking for the second leg. I was told that it was the fault of travel agents. When I rang ebookers help desk he told me that from their end everything was OK but he was not prepared to do anything more than that. I had to beg at the the Abu Dhabi airport for the next flight. My luggage however is still in transit, somewhere unknown!!!!! a really terrible experience indeed.

“Unreasonable cancellations! Useless Customer Service!...”

A couple of weeks ago, I booked a return flight ticket from Copenhagen(CPH) to Istanbul Sabiha Airport(SAW) for August 2016 on ebookers.com. My original plan was flying Copenhagen from London on Friday 29'th July, spending there the weekend with some close friends and flying Istanbul on the 1'st of August. On Monday last week I received a call along with an email saying that "the airline company has cancelled your outbound flight to Istanbul on the 1'st of August because of operational reasons". And I was told that the Airline Company had already issued me with another ticket for the 2'nd of August. This obviously changed everything! I can not stay in Copenhagen one more night since my friends are going away for a holiday as well; plus I have another booked flight to catch in Istanbul in the afternoon on 2'nd of August. So I have no other chance but to be in Istanbul on the 1'st of August, otherwise I have to change my entire travel plans!!! For the following days I contacted Ebookers.com's Customer Service several times in order to finding a solution. Each time I called in I spent nearly an hour on the line and each time there was a different person on the other side of the line. So I had to go through my story over and over again with every single member of Ebookers' Customer Service. After spending two days with Customer Service, I was finally told that Ebookers can not do anything but refunding the ticket price! What a proseffioonal Company & its professional Customer Service Team! Like a joke! Seriously.. Even though the Airline Company has several other direct flights from CPH to Isanbul on 1'st of August, I was kept told that there is no direct flight at all! I told Ebookers that I was OK with arriving Istanbul Ataturk Airport which is not far from Istanbul Sabiha Airport. After all, Expedia kept saying there is nothing they can do as the Airline Company is not willing to offer me a ticket to Ataturk Airport. I was forced to either take the flight on the 2'nd of August or accept the refund. Flight tickets have doubled since the time I booked my ticket; staying in Copenhagen will cost me exstra; plus I have to cancel my folowing day flight within Turkey and purchase another ticket!!! A refund will obviously not compansate my lost and it seems like I'll have to cancel my original plans of staying over in Copenhagen and book a direct flight from London to Istanbul on the 1'st of August!! All in all, I can say that Ebookers is far from defending it's customers' rights. They are there to work for their business partners' benefits! They dont have any corporate or business values!; They have a very unprofessional way of dealing with issues!; And their Customer Service is useless! Don't book any holidays or flights on Ebookers! Avoid! Be aware! They might cancel your booking because of "Operational Reasons"! And I can assure you that they will not even bother to explain what are these Operational reasons!! Avoid! Dont buy!

“Cancellation insurance is pointless”

Booked a trip to NY for my wifes 30th well in advance with cancellation insurance in case she became pregnant. The opposite has happened and we are now separating. I asked to change the passenger and said I would pay for a name change and they said name changes aren't allowed. I then suggested that they cancel her place and then I'll just do it as a new booking for the flight with a new name and they said I had to cancel the whole package and then rebook. In the process, I'd lose £500 and then have to book the whole thing again Separation does not count as a valid reasons to change on the cancellation policy. Will not be using them ever again, even if they have the best deals.

“DO NOT book with ebookers ”

Poor systems lead to errors given to airlines. Poor customer service that neither talks fluent English or has any interest in resolving their errors. In the end it needed Virgin Atlantic to deal with ebookers to assist with my booking. If you value your trip DO NOT use ebookers.

“Non-Existent fares ”

I can only conclude that ebookers advertise cheap non-existent fares to lure people to its website (for example, through Skyscanner). These fares are not available when you try to book, although they continue to appear on their site. When you speak to customer service they cannot help, as you cannot place an order over the phone and they simply suggest you buy other flights at double the cost. This strikes me as being dishonest false advertising and/or contact detail harvesting. I would not go near them with a barge pole.

“Awful customer service and website doesn't work!”

get a good price on website, go through to the end... Including CC charge the package come to £510.90 from Perth to Bali incl hotel haven. I enter CC details and keeps taking me back to the page again . Won't process info. Definitely an error their end!! Call up to find they're trying to charge more on the phone and I find this greatly unacceptable!!! STAY AWAY!!! Absolute c r a p company will never book with them!!!

THEY SAID THAT CARD PROCESSING ERROR. SO I ASSUMED MY MONEY WILL BE BACK IN MY ACCOUNT SHORTLY. I SPENT OVER 2 HOURS CALLING IN BETWEEN MY BANK AND EBOOKERS TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE TO SEE IF WE CAN RESOLVE THIS. THE BANK SAID MY MONEY WILL BE REFUNDED IN 10 DAYS TIME..... AND EBOOKERS SAID THEY WILL NOT CLAIM THE MONEY YET THEY TOOK IT... I MADE THIS BOOKING FOR ME AND MY FRIENDS NOW EVERYONE'S HOLIDAY IS RUINED BECAUSE THIS COMPANY. MY FRIENDS ARE SO ANNOYED AT ME ( YOU SHOULD HAVE BOOKED DIRECTLY THEY SAID) WHICH THEY ARE RIGHT... IF THIS REVIEW JUST STOPS ON PERSON FROM USING THIS COMPANY I WILL BE OVER THE MOON. “Nightmare website ”

Very difficult to find a way to contact Ebookers with urgent question... and for that reason will avoid booking with them ever again.. I'll go to Expedia next time!

Looking to book a trip on February 12th, eBookers is the cheapeast airline tickets I could find, I read the reviews about them but has anyone had success? I am nervous and getting myself to book or not... please help?

Why would you book airline tickets via a third party? Book direct via the airline itself unless you are booking a package covered by ABTA.

My experience was the worst possible. They canceled my reservation to a hotel in Paris at the very last minute when I was getting on the plane. So I arrived in Paris alone at night without a room to stay in. Adding to this, they canceled the reservation but not the billing of the full payment. When I returned from vacation, I had to contest the billing with the credit card company and ebookers office, spending precious hours of my time to have their error corrected after a couple of months.

Hi Sandraew I have had no problem with the booking experience or the hotels themselves once abroad. I have booked a few hotels and always ended up with a genuine booking and the correct hotel, but I haven't booked a holiday or anything more complex. Pay on credit card and there is always chargeback if things go wrong. If you are booking a hotel I would recommend using the voucher code BEACH15 for 15% discount off most hotels, have just checked and it works but it does expire on the 20th. The only problem I had was to cancel a booking and boy did they give me the runaround, did get a full refund in the end but talk about hassle!
