Bought a 40 inch LCD tv just over 3 years ago, which I thought I'd reviewed comprehensively, but just recently (approx 6 months ago) i have been getting two vertical dark blurry lines, just to the left of the centre ot the screen. approximately 4 inches long. Have e-mailed Samsung, but not holding out much hope, reading other reviews. It also appears as it's a screen fault, it will not be financially viable to get it repaired. I paid £750.00 for the tv which I was expecting to last at least 6-7 years. I thought when buying Samsung, I was purchasing a quality tv, obviously looks can be deceptive.

Had my samsung 43" 3d plasma just 2 months and it packed up. No problem you may say it will have a 12 month manurfacture warranty. But no when I contacted samsung they said they have sold the warranty to the people I bought the item from. Not sure thats a good idea. You have been warned...

Excellent TV. Easy to use and a good value. Color is great. Only problem is the speakers. They are small and could use a booster.

I have a samsung 61" dlp model # hlt6176sx\xaa I purchased a few years ago and in the past few days I've noticed little white dots appearing. I googled my problem and found tons of people with the same issue most saying that samsung knows this is a known issue and came and replaced the part free of charge. When I called samsung they knew right off of my issue but said my model was not covered and there was nothing they could do for me other than send a company out that I would have to pay.I was thinking about purchasing new appliances and going with samsung but if this is hhow there going to stand behind there product I wouldn't recommend to anyone to buy samsung

This product is unreliable. I bought a samsung flatscreen and just after the warranty expired (12 months), the picture began getting large verticle lines through it. Samsung did replace the tv with a new one. Six month later, with a completely new tv, I have the same problem and will have to throw it out. There is a significant recurring problem w the product

Spent £600 on a Samsung 40" LCD TV 14 months ago and blew up last week. Apparently the cost of getting it repaired is £200 so needless to say, I will have to just buy a new TV and it wont be a Samsung product.
Phoned Samsung customer service and got a girl in Egypt who could hardly speak English and to be honest, it was a total waste of half an hour of my life!
Biggest waste of money I have ever spent.

July 2010.
We have just purchased a Samsung 32 inch TV from John Lewis, Bristol, UK and there are some little niggles but the retailer gave us a 5 year guarantee. So I hope it will be OK. The paper manual is no help with trouble shooting. I tried to download the online manual but that was for a mobile phone!!!

Samsung in general all their apparatus including TVs mobiles are not of good quality and when they break which is often ( even more than chinese products) they cannot really fix them. Their parts are cheap and is only their glossy shiny tricky outside that looks good. European products for me anytime.

My husband and I purchased a samsung 42 inch lcd tv from Best Buy 3 years ago as a present for our 10 yr anniversary. We paid over 1500 for this tv and now 3 years later it is trash. It just started taking longer and longer to actually turn on after pushing the power button and one day it did not turn on at all (it just clicks over and over). I went on the internet and found that this is a major problem with samsung and that they refuse to make a recall and fix this problem so many people are having. Type into the search line on your computer samsung tv turning on and off and you will see what I am talking about. I wish I had looked on the internet before I spent 1500 of my hard earned money on such a piece of junk. I called samsung and they told me of a tech in my area commissioned with them who would come and fix my tv in home and that I would be responsible for all monies owed. I must say even the tech is crummy cause they have not been responsive at all and samsung does not seem to care. I am considering entering into the lawsuit that is now being put together by so many others who have had the same problem as I. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT BUY A SAMSUNG PRODUCT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I brought a Samsung 40 (LNR408DX), took it home, hung it on the wall and enjoyed it, until 6 months after the warranty expired. The picture went out, but sound was still great. Samsung sent a repair man out who said apparently we needed a $450.00 repair (parts/labor)and that they would order it. (that sounded reasonable)
A few days later came a call that part could no longer be ordered seperately, the cost would now be $1000.00. I can buy new TV for that price, and have a new warranty
Called Samsung and I was channeled up their customer relations ladder- after an hour of being transferred around I was informed that it was out of warranty and my options were to repair it, or buy another TV.
My future TVs, (and related products) surely will not be a Samsung.

I am having problems with my Samsung TV - which is fast approaching the end of a 12 month waranty!
The sound problem sounds very similar to other reviews. I am awaiting a call from a engineer. I only hope my TV is replaced with a new unit.
I will keep you posted.

We bought a 32" HDTV Samsung in Jan. of 07. Began having sound problems pretty soon. A terrible vibration in some sound tones and muffled quality. Company we bought it from came out 3 times and said they couldn't do anything about it because it was in a cabinet!! Excuse me? Finally called Samsung who referred me to a local serviceman who came out and said he had just repaired other Samsung tv's with same problem. Something about the speakers vibrating against some part in the tv. It helped for a while, but is getting worse. Wondering if the speakers could be blown. Has anyone had the same problem and if so, how did you solve it?

I Have a Samsung 26" tv which has bee ok for maybe 2 years but now the sound has become terrible on loud deeper sounds.

A change of loudspeakers (used) made no difference and I am loathe to discard this set or to pay extortionate repair costs (assuming anyone can repair the problem. Samsung? Judging by other sites full of Samsung problems, Never Again!!!

I spent over $5,500. on a Samsung 67" DLP flat screen tv. After 1 1/2 years, the stupid thing just died. The projection unit quit...as I found out, many people have the same issues. I called samsung's customer service and they all just kept passing me from one department to another. Finally after a month of phone calls, one supervisor told me, the TV is out of warranty and they are not going to do anything about it...if I want my TV to work again, they'll call a local repair shop for me but I'll have to pay for everything (all services and parts). Ain't that a shame. What a mistake it was for me to be considerate and thought about helping buy and support their products. I've always known, they've always made cheap junks in the 80s and 90s...and today, it's still JUNK. The last lady at customer service told me that a manager will call me in regards to the multiple complaints..but now, almost two months later...still no phone calls. I should have paid an extra $500 and buy a SONY.

I have a very old SAMSUNG, all the problems that television has been all easy to repair. Good image quality, good sound. The remote control is very durable. Certainly a good value for the money.

I bought a 19" Samsung TV in 1992. Since then I have had it shipped across the world, (I bought it in Korea) and it has survived at least 15 moves from apartment to apartment, state to state. I've never had a problem with it and it is still working today. For a cheap TV, this was a very good buy.

I have just done a quick scour of the internet as my LED 46" samsung has this line issue as described and also keeps cutting out. Purchased in 2010 and hardly used (2nd TV) I have figured the cost of repair to outway the benefits. Seems from my quick research that there are definitely screen quality issues with their TV's so WILL NOT RECOMMEND OR PURCHASE AGain...considering the high profile of this brand it has a very poor showing and very poor customer relations
