You can never get one and when you do stuff is missing and it's hard to find anything with 100's of spam emails.

“Shockingly bad”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 12/08/2013

Do not bother if you want an email inbox that you can actually log into when you'd like, you don't like being bombarded with spam and no spam filters and you want any type of service for your money. How do these people get away with charging for such utter rubbish. I have been with postmaster for many years, and have in the main now migrated away, but I still have a lot of people that write to my old email, trouble is the emails go missing, are late, attachments often wont add to emails and its pot luck if this week you actually log in. Last year, the log in home page changed for a week to a middle eastern oil magazine. Today as I write its been almost 48 hours with a message that says "502 Bad Gateway" and no access and no response from the 2 emails to support. I have important legal documents sent to me to sign, that needed to be signed today, but lo and behold its not working AGAIN. You'd be better getting a free email provider and setting fire to £14.99 than spending it on postmaster, at least with the free email provider you'd get emails and could log in. Utter dross. STAY AWAY

“Terrible - site regularly unavailable with zero comms ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by ClareGeorgia on 11/08/2013

I'd give zero stars if that was an option, but at least the 'terrible' clarification does the email provider justise. It's frightening for me when I think about all my important emails being in this company's hands, so I am urgently looking for a new, reliable, paid-for service. DO NOT USE if you want access to your emails or any form of explanation for any of the numerous times the entire site simply disappears. When the site is 'up', my emails arrive between a few hours and a day after being sent, and can be hard to filter out from the vast quantities of spam.

“Cannot access site - hijacked?”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 20/11/2012

I am a registered Postmaster user, but since last night I cannot access the site, neither can my daughter from her computer. When we try we get Oil Review Middle East. What is the problem? Has the site been hijacked? Is there a security issue? We can't report it to Postmaster as every time we try to contact them we get re-directed to the Middle East site. If we go through Google it shows up as being Postmaster site but the Oil site comes up. Surely Postmaster must know!

Hi, I had the same problem yesterday and will not be renewing my subscription as I'm not paying for this shambles!! However, not sure if you've got the zimbra login page address so that you can still access your email.

Hope you find a new service soon!!

“Lost my emails from my late mother”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 16/04/2012

From 2004-2007, I lived in Japan, and used to exchange emails with my late mum through this email system. They have managed to LOSE these emails, and repeated requests to restore them have been utterly ignored. And this is a service I have PAID for, not a free one! Ever since Vorari took over, the system has been an unmitigated disaster. Avoid at all costs.

“Avoid at all costs!! Zero stars across the board ”

written by on 02/11/2011

Don't normally post these but if it helps postmaster go under then I'm willing. I joined up to the original postmaster webmail probably 10+ years ago and have since watched what was a simple, no frills, reliable service deteriorate into an unusable mess. I won't bore you with history of gradual decline but the latest move to vorari is an absolute cluster bomb. My Inbox and subfolders just disappeared after week of not being able to logon. 3 weeks later its still not fixed and the temporary logon page looks like its been put together in a special needs IT class. The service support accepts requests, oh yes, but that's the end of it, no response - ever, I mean, seriously nothing ever! Try calling the support line (+44 (0) 203 002 3761 - go on its funny - I will bet my house you are number 2 in the queue, and you will be until you hang up. ... and they charge 16 smackers for this astonishingly bad service. Do yourself a favour and just avoid them as if they were riddled with black death.

Blimey, I could have written this myself! Exactly my experience, as a user since 1999. I wonder how may of us there are! My subscription has been due for a few weeks, and fortunately they haven't been able to get it! I'm sorry to say I've resorted to mildly abusive replies to the \"support\" team! I can only assume Vorari took over with a view to destroying the business.

“No service whatsoever”

Since postmaster was 'taken over' by voltari it has been a nightmare and just when I thought it could not get worse it has, No service for nearly a week, cannot communicate, no information and am trying to run a business heavily reliant on emails - anyone else experiencing same?

Yes, the service is disgusting since going over to voltari. We are home users, 3 of us use and pay for their so called 'Gold Service' but it has been practically non existant over the last 3 months. Firstly all our files and folders vanished and it took weeks for them to retrieve them, the service after than was hit or miss, mostly miss, and then just two weeks ago all our folders and records vanished again. No service as other poster says for a week but this is now their standard service pattern! To add insult to injury they had a notice up a one point claiming that the users were to blame for overloading the system or somesuch rubbish and took payments from our banks in October for a non existant service.

“All emails lost”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 15/10/2011

Postmaster has had a virtually non existant service for the last three months, and they only rarely admit that their servers are down (or whatever their latest issue is). I believe they have tried to migrateto new servers TWICE in this time, without warning. As customers, we have no idea when we may get access to ours emails, and it seems that all of mine have been lost. I am only keeping my account (which I used as my sole personal account for ten years)open, in the hope that I can somehow retrieve my contacts list.

“Avoid Postmaster”

★☆☆☆☆

written by davrog on 22/09/2011

I began using Postmaster many years ago as the local library service used it. Recommended then - but over the years has got worse and worse. I've lost clients as the mail bounces back and am now trying to find my address book and any mail which might have bounced. this is really terrible and very bad news for a paid service . Does anyone know how to get a reponse from Postmaster. Have they finally died? Do not in any circumstance sign up - even if you do have the luck ( or missfortune) in getting in touch with their (non)service Dave

“Postmaster/Vorari/Zimbra System seems consistently...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 19/09/2011

19th September, 2011 A system which loses all your folders, seems only intermittently able to send and receive messages, and regularly presents one with signs such as Bad Gate etc thus denying access at all has proved to be the most frustrating and indeed infuriating email system I have ever encountered. As a regular user with important communications to receive and transmit almost daily I found the old Postmaster.co.uk occasionally sluggish yet never the less coherent and fairly reliable. In my experience its tranformation via Vorari/Zimbra has produced a seriously incompetent, unreliable and grossly inadequate service. Worse than 'amateur', present conditions could be read as a bad parody of email processes. I advise anyone considering this so-called 'Postmaster' to avoid it completely. There are real and reliable email systems readily available, many of which make no charge. Seek them out!

Yes. They switched platforms to Vorari a week later than advised, but without letting anyone know what was happening. Porting old mail folders took a week, but in a different storage structure so that my IMAP connection couldn't find them. Then they went down for a couple of days, with no reason given. A couple of days later, they got hit by a DDOS attack (they say), and I have had virtually nothing in my inbox for a week now. Who knows if I'll ever receive the missing mail (plus all that which I don't know about).
I used the old Postmaster for a couple of years, with virtually no problems - once they sorted out my on-line data storage area (which Vorari, now, don't offer). The Vorari set-up seems like a total abortion, to be honest. Don't think I'll be staying with them. If things don't shape up rapidly, I'll be asking for my money back and writing a stinky letter to Ofcom.

How I agree!

Choosing to 'replatform' with Vorari/Zimbra is probably the worst decision the Spider Networks/Postmaster management team have ever made.

In addition to the failings mentioned by the foregoing contributor, I would add the eyestrain caused by the new screen design and choice of colours for it and the useless American spell check facility (I am a British user living in the United Kingdom and I do not wish to use any version of the English language other than the proper British one).

I've nearly gone nuts with the rubbish Postmaster are up to.

I've lost clients and am eriously thinking of suing. I can never get a reponse to 'support' when I do manage to get on line.

Hopeless. what to do?

I'm changing to gmail yet can't get my address list... Help.

Waow, PM looks to be worse than it was 5 years ago - I had no idea it could get worse! I quickly moved away from Postmaster over 5 years ago after repeated downtime, inadequate support, no apologies, more downtime, questionable security (limited password selection) and more downtime. My past experience with PM lead me to believe it to be staffed by very inexperienced tech personnel. Add to that very little apparent management and an absence of SLAs and you have a kind of "hobby" webmail provider. But they actually charge now! Waow.

Used to be brilliant when it was free. Since being taken over by Spider Networks a few years ago, the service level has plummeted. Service interruptions for prolonged periods are common and to top it all, my account has been de-activated for no reason. So far I have spent over 2 days trying to find out why, have sent 6 messages and have heard nothing. Meanwhile, important emails are being bounced and I am paying for the privilege. Customer Service don't care and are rude if/when they bother to get back to you at all. Do not touch with a barge pole!

“Postmaster. ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 23/12/2009

Postmaster.
I am getting sooo frustrated by the lack of response from their'admin' department.
My account is blocked, due to several unsuccessful attempts to log in (all by myself!) and despite many emails to the support dept, and at least three to spider-networks, there has been nothing back from them, and no change on the blocked access!
I am really angry and frustrated... I am even considering re-joining (another fifteen quid!) just so I can access their forums and actually attract someones notice! If it wasn't for the facty that I have some valued photos in files there, i would dump the account without a second thought.
Be warned...they are fine when things are running ok, but the support is non existant!

I have exactly the same problem. My emails were blocked 6 days ago and I have written 30 messages to their admion and to spider networks. I have had my sister - another p[ostmaster customer - send them a request for me and I have heard nothing, neither to my telephone nor to my alternative emaill address. I have explained that I run a business which depends largely on emails. Nothing. They have not replied, explained, reinstated my emails - nothing. It is most frustrating. There is no telephone number, no contact of any sort is possible. This should not be the way that a business is run in this country. They should show respect to their customers. We pay for their so-called service. The whole affair is disgusting.

Postmaster.co.uk used to be a free service. It was never brilliant but I was happy with the fact that it was UK based so I used it. I moved to Hotmail.com because I was not prepared to pay £14.99 per year for something which was basically always inferior and with no guarantee of service improvements for the cost. Looking at the reviews, I have been proved right and the significant number of reported downtime incidents substantiate the following advice: Do not subscribe to this service!

Postmaster was initially free which I wanted but not have to pay. I'm OK about paying cos the spam filter seems to work really well. However had an account renewal query recently and fired off 3 e-mails to them - WHICH THEY NEVER REPLIED TO!!! Not impressed. Be warned - support is not brilliant!

written by on 17/07/2009

I was recommended Postmaster by a local library for its ease of use and its anti spam protection. I have used it over the last few years and wouldn't consider using another server. I have a work e-mail with another provider and frequently get junk mail unlike my private Postmaster account.
This server gives excellent protection is fast and easy to use.
When I first used Postmaster I was not paying for the Gold account and thought long and hard about having to pay each year. I did pay and have been pleased as it gives me assurances about anti-spam protection. I would have liked to have had warning about the free service being withdrawn.
