I bought a laptop from PC World and at the time foolishly took out a one year insurance. Laptop seemed faulty from the moment I turned it on. Despite sending it back and sending several letters, I kept being told that my contract was with PC world support. I felt as though they totally ignored my rights. Some of the cheap prices they offer online are not guaranteed to be available in-store. I was looking for a tv card offered at £10 less if you book it online and then go in store they stated it was not in stock in store when I tried to book it. When I went into the shop it was available so went directly home and tried to book it with the same result apparently no stock? This has happened to me time and again with other products. Right, I work for PC World and I am sick of hearing people complain about this topic. Let me explain Collect at store.

<br/>You can reserve a product online maybe at a cheaper price than instore, but there needs to be more than 3 in stock for you to be able to do this. If you go to the store and see three on the shelf, take it to the till (it would help if you have a print screen of the webpage) and the csa will be happy to amend the price for you.

The reason why this happens is because the web system syncs with the stock file and requires there to be a certain level of said product available for you to book it. Ie: 10+ this is to take into account anyone else trying to book the product at a similar time (which does happen), or to take into account any errors on the store's stock file, which again unfortunately does happen due to theft, failed deliveries, etc. Better you cant order it, than you order it, go in, and they haven't got it. Generally speaking though, they would price match it, most of the time, unless it was a massive price discount.

I purchased some software, but had problems installing it onto my computer, I contacted the number for support, (the store number is not listed) and was given 7 options on the phone menu, after choosing several of the options along the way, I finished up holding a dead phone as I was not prepared to pay for software support on a product I had only owned for 4-5 hours. Reputation undeserved???? You ordered items off the internet whoop e doo, try going in store for anything including repairs, check out how good they are then and how "fantastic" there customer service is then you will see why they have this reputation.

I work for PCW, and half the time we aren't told what's supposed to come with the deals and what's not. This is not our fault it's head office's responsibility. However, arguing gets you nowhere. Keep calm and we will do the same. If the website showed the machine with speakers, you of course expect to get them. But read the small print before shouting off.

PC world are disgustingly bad after you have given them your money and they just done care about you after that. i would strongly advise people dont buy from them, ever. I kept getting out through to different departments who then sent me back to the same department i had rant before. No one knew how to help me. Their in store staff are full of you know what and said they had fixed my PC when they may as well have not touched it. Couldn't agree more, their customer services are useless, nobody knows or cares what your problem is and they just fob you off with any old answer and they don't answer emails.

I work for PC World and staff are told to keep in their area, for example cameras. I sell Apple Mac machines and if I am seen in networking for example I am taken by the manager back to my area. There has to be someone on the door for meet and greet to comply with mystery shop. We do our best to help you if you are in our area, but if not then it is up to the person who is meant to be there to deal with it - or we have to find the person if she or he isn't there.

I am not happy about buying products from PC World. I think some of there staff do not have a clue about computers, grumpy and the majority of them were ignorant.
Some staff were walking around scruffy and calling themselves managers.
I have dealt with them over the past few years and I am not happy with the service. Not at all helpful when you have a serious problem like selling computers that are returned faulty and sold again as new with all your personal info on them… Read Full Review
