Any service you take out with them, they automatically renew at the end of subscription period, with or without your authorisation. You tell them not to renew, they renew anyway. You ask for a refund, you know the answer to that one. The only way to stop them taking money from you is to cancel the payment card you paid them with in the first place. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

“Do not use this company they are scam artists”

Do not use this company, their systems are setup in a way that makes it very difficult for you to cancel a service and they just keep on billing you then putting on charges just to squeeze more money out of you, even if you call them they cannot cancel the service for you. I was shocked to find out they had started giving me credit when I had not asked for credit, just so they could keep billing me. They send you emails using an email address that they do not accept replies from.

“Fasthosts Review - Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.”

I only hope you've seen this before signing up with FastHosts. I signed up for Hosting and for technical reasons that I won't bore you with, they were unable to host my site. Would they cancel my contract? Hell no! I've signed up for 12 months (stupid I know, but I presumed that a Hosting package would do just that and the website in question wasn't that important). Customer Services are slow and idiotic. I think it's a pretty damning indication when their own website loads at a snail's pace. Should have known from the archaic payment and password systems they use. Please please take my word for it and avoid these people. I don't go around writing reviews for fun - I just don't have the time for it. But these guys have annoyed me enough to compel me to write this. I'm hardly an experienced hoster but I've used a number of other providers, all of whom have been fine. I've never even considered it a particularly special service - just taken for granted that Hosting providers will actually host your website with no hiccups.

“Fasthosts Internet review”

Cancelled my hosting, they still took the money from my credit card, I emailed them, they say they never recieved my cancellation request but will now cancel it and will not issue a refund. I have now requested a chargeback with my card provider. As with most reviews avoid al all costs.

VERY DISSAPOINTED..... Poor customer service VERY DIFFCULT TO NATIGATE THE WEBSITE...SLOW SLOW SLOW ! it MAKES YOU LOG IN AGAIN AND AGAIN when you change pages within the site I am consisering finding a more up to date comapny who use an easy upadte system for my website.... whole experience has left me frustrated and a feeling of paying for a Very poor service CUSTOMER SERVICE TOLD ME Google chrome ARE NOT COMPATABLE with Fasthots and that i should download fire fox instead CUSTOMER SERVICE is based in the phillipines it is ver expensive to call them and they will not ring you back I Launched my website in 2007 hosted by fasthosts I am now looking to have a website i can work on without all the hassle TIME TO FIND A NEW COMPANY

“Worst host I have ever dealt with - AVOID Fasthosts!”

Don't be fooled by the "unlimited webspace" - it's not unlimited at all. Customer service was absolutely terrible, after calling with a query I didn't receive a call back as promised. When I made a complaint about the call back, customer services told me that my query had been dealt with, therefore I didn't receive a call back and refused to even address the complaint I made! Having left Fasthosts, they are now preventing me from migrating data and trying to extort me for more money so I'm granted access to my data... Steer clear!

“I wonder how are they are still in business??”

I paid by card in November 2012 for a email and web hosting. Then I wait for a service which never come true. I exchange more than 40 email with them and no service. I ask to cancel the service and they called me back a promising that will be no more debit charge and no next charges to my card. Rubish, they charged my debit card again and again, even a company representative said that the agreement will be cancel. More than this, after 6 months, I receoved a letter from a recovered company that i have a debt with this company. How to be charged for a non existing service. Where are my customer rights in UK, or just is a illusion????

“OK but expensive and tied in”

I'm not overly happy wiht Fasthosts. I've been using them for nearly four years and intiially it was great, very easy to set up my first site and I was happy. I now feel completely trapped and have several monthly direct debits taken out that I can't control. I've got a virtual server but still pay for hosting seperately as they don't make it particularly easy to transfer. They also look for every opportunity to charge a bit extra. And they are expensive

“Avoid like the plague”

I've too had issues with FastHosts dating back 18 months, have until now just let them take the money as the information they gave me at the time I took as correct, however this is not the case. If your looking to build a website avoid this company like the bubonic plague. Their "professional tools" are equvilant to a set of crayola crayons used by a 7 year old, their claims of no experience required to set up a website is false. They do not respond to complaints other than referring you to web seminars and offer NO assistance what so ever. They will take your money regardless they are a money hungry company with no regard to customer service. I can not stress enough of the enormity of a mistake you'll make by using this company. If you are looking to build your own website and do need some sort of support use someone like Moonfruit, their tools are easy to use, their customer service does exist. I've actually become so incensed with annoyance with Fasthosts that we're all going on a merry jaunt to the small claims court shortly, a decision I didn't take lightly but I feel their lies and false advertising warrants such action. Use that if nothing else as a reason not to use Fasthosts. If one person is resorted to do this , is it a company you want to give your card details too?. I hope this helps.

“Top Hoster”

I have been with Fasthosts for 8 years using Webhosting, email hosting, domain reg and dedicated servers. I have always found them to be 1st Class, i don't know were these reviews come from. For me they are always extremely professional the support is excellent, its a reliable service and the products do what they say (unlike many other providers!). My business is as very successful online shop, it very successful, we wouldn't have achieved this if it wasn't for Fasthosts.

“Fasthosts.co.uk Worst Hosting Provider in UK”

Same story, the sent the invoice £6.17 on 14 March and mentioned this one is outstanding and failure to pay , lead SERVICE suspension, I don’t needed the service and I let it go and later they turn up that I have to pay all these charges 14-Mar-2013 2********* Linux Standard £6.17 Overdue 16-Mar-2013 2********* Linux Standard £6.17 Overdue 12-Apr-2013 2********* Debt Admin Charge £24.00 Overdue 15-Apr-2013 2********* Linux Standard £6.17 Overdue 16-Apr-2013 2********* Linux Standard - ***********.com £6.17 Overdue So what CRAZY they have Done Suspended the service and keep raising the invoices and doubling and triplicating the amount. Stay away from this company, the are the worst in UK. I will gather other people affected and plan to make a sue and claim compensation of my time. They have to stop. Also report to other agencies.

“Customer service bad ”

I purchased a VPS from Fasthosts on a 3 month intro deal and tied in for a year - no problems as understood . After 3 months the VPS was not working as it should I was receiving daily server messages highlighting server issues - So much so I lost confidence in the VPS & moved to another server company . I contacted Fasthosts not even asking for my monies back but a cancellation penalty - I might as well have been talking to a brick wall , No I had to run the contract for 12 months - the server has nothing on it and im paying £100 a month for the privilege. I still use Fasthosts for registering domains though will NEVER purchase any other services from them

“Sales team like Vultures”

I went onto the site in a hope of purchasing a dedicated server as I liked the fact that their servers were based in the UK. I asked the sales person on live chat if this was the case as to which he said yes they were co-located in the UK. I replied thank you and left the screen, to my astonishment the sales guy calls me on the telephone to ask about my enquiry!! I didn't even give them my telephone number, they must have looked up our business details from my email address. I said I would make a decision in my own time, he then told me that if I did want to purchase it would be better if I called him as it takes "hours" when you do it on-line (more like he wants the commission) Anyway moving on we decided to purchase the server however the sales man irritated me and so I thought I would purchase on line and not take into account his obvious BS. Just as the sale was going through on-line he called me again!!! This time he said that he told me to call him and didn't I get his email. I then told him "Why do you keep calling me, I haven't asked you to call me, I want to make the purchase without you keep calling me!" I then put the phone down and 10 minutes later his colleague (a woman) calls and asks to speak to me, which I declined. I have since received numerous automated emails asking if I need help with my purchase. Why does Fasthosts think it is wonderful to get their sales team to literally jump on you at the moment you make an enquiry or try to complete a purchase on their website, some people buy on line as they like to do it at their own pace and read ALL of the information without some hot head getting you to sign up so he can receive his commission. Anyway went to EasySpace in the end ... lovely so far.

“Worst Hosting Possible! Beware!”

Fasthosts are undoubtedly the most unhelpful, deliberately obstructive and dis-organised company I have ever encountered. Their technical support is in a sweatshop in Calcutta and communication is difficult to put it mildly. God forbid you should ever have a problem...in my case my site went down and they would not allow me access to renew my domain (but were very happy to continue to take payments). If you cancel you will be sent threatening letters. DON'T TRUST THEM! DON'T USE THEM! SPREAD THE WORD!

im new to self build business websites and have limited experience-the perfect mug for this crowd of dysfunctional,beligerant,argumentative and totaly patronising gang of unproffesional gang of liars to grace this planet. when you speak to head office in Gloucester,its like they know your coming-lol,they must read of autocue for handling complaints.,a real patronising bunch of characters. im so,so,bitterly annoyed with myself for not doing a more thorough check on them before leaping in feet first. the website didn't work properly from day1.,photos wouldnt upload.,then they fixed it for a day,then same problem the next.the foreign "tech dept" are there for an encore-theyre useless and like to argue and are incompetent,cannot fix the problem and tell you something different every email.,ive had photo upload problems since last Wednesday.still not fixed and itl never work I very much doubt,but ive drawn a line under it now. im now going to contact Trading Standards as I believe this site is "unfit for purpose"-id urge everyone to do the same. CONSUMER BEWARE ,DO NOT GO NEAR FASTHOSTS AND HEED THE WARNINGS.YOUVE BEEN WARNED.

I cancelled my account and they don't have any record! Sending me threatening letters telling me I'm going to get sent to a debt collected. Avoid like the plague. They didn't cancel my account when asked and now they are asking for money!

the business webuilder never worked from the start,the foreign "tech dept" are there for the joy ride.,ithis has been ongoing since last wenesday,ive now given up.citizens advice,here we come.
im so,so disappointed with myself for not looking further and going elsewhere.,please,dont buy ,if you read this beforehand you've a chance.
im contacting Trading Standards tomorrow, being sold something "unfit for purpose" is something they can answer too,everyone should do the same.

“Still billing despite account being cancelled”

like other clients here i cancelled the account with these guys but they claim to have no record of it and as i didnt get an email confirming i have no proof. i havent used the service ever and its clear its out of use but they still refuse to see their error. Closed down an account in 2010 and thought nothing of it. On 14th February I get a letter (the first I've ever had from them!) claiming £80. They'd been taking money for 3 years, in spite of my closing the account (more fool me for not noticing it before). They claimed not to have received the email, which is not surprising, given they've not replied to any of the other emails I've sent them - or logged them either. Trying to deal with Customer Service on the telephone is now better. They don't care and are just after a money grab - even if they're not legally entitled to it. It's absolutely no way to run a business. In the end they suggested I take them to court. Exactly what I intend to do. And to get back the money they've taken over the last three years! Avoid like the plague!

Got them to drop it. I made it clear that if they didn't back-down and close the account (and drop their demands for money) I'd go after them for taking money for the last three years - fraudulently. They don't like that word (not surprisingly!).

I sent a letter giving them 14 days to close the account and waive fees (though made it clear that I was satisfied it was already closed), and said that it would be up to a court to decide whether I'd sent the email and they'd not logged it properly or that I hadn't sent it.

I pointed out that the hundreds of complaints on here with people having exactly the same issue made it clear that they were either not logging correctly, or knew full well I'd cancelled but choosing to ignore which is fraud. And that if it went to court - they'd look at their behaviour and background and conclude Fasthosts in wrong.

Also helps if you make a stink on Facebook and Twitter.

They'll still play hardball - but I took up so much time, made such a nuisance of myself (whilst pointing out it was costing them more to deal with me than the money that they were claiming) that I think they thought it easier and wiser to simply make me go away!

They dropped their claim if i agreed not to go to court and accuse them of fraud!
