Their app messes up the booking but there is no refund. Cheaper to book direct with airline and the airline will actually help unlike opodo who are super stressful. AVOID

“Avoid Opodo ”

I looked up flights through a search engine, and found one for EasyJet through Opodo. These sites are usually free. Not Opodo. You are given membership when booking, hidden in terms and conditions. Then a month later they fleece you for Annual Membership which is £70. The email I was sent in between this time looked just like an advert, not explicitly pointing out membership. You can't cancel membership online. You have to ring up. They are banking on people not reading through myriad terms and conditions. This is little more than a sham. Go direct to the airline and avoid Opodo.  I have since heard of several people who have had the same experience.

“WORST FLIGHT PROVIDER”

This is probably the worst deal I have experienced. I often travel for business and leisure sometimes, basically every month I am inside a plane. This means I can compare flights pretty well, but it was my first time and last time with Opodo, unfortunately. I have used Momondo as a search engine for a flight and proceeded with Opodo, all information was filled in and the price for this was 265,- Eur, when it was deducted from my account it came up to 295,- Eur, nothins is mentioned on the invoice, unbelievable right? Be careful with this sham.They rip you off without any notice in the sketchiest way. Also, they never replied to my emails and phone number never gets you anyone to help. Resuming, this is the reality of sham. They take from everyone and then is no way of refunding your money back, Please keep in mind this when you buy any flight via Opodo.

“Still unresolved and non-existent customer service”

NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!...Opodo's management after the car hire company was even more appalling! I booked car hire via Opodo in Turkey. A car hire company called DMR. All paid up front and was suppose to have 500Euro blocked on the card as per Opodo documentation for hire on arrival. The company tried charging me 1000Euro then settled at 500Euro. Rather then blocking the amount, they charged it to my card resulting in transaction charges, contrary to the contract signed by Opodo. Most car rentals only block the amount so no charges made. On returning the car, I received no refund and the car company said they will return it after 4 weeks????. No where in any contract with Opodo or the car company it says this. On return and after a lot of searching I found the complaint email for Opodo to try and get my money back and get answers to numerous questions about how nothing seems to have followed the contract i signed to hire the car through Opodo. Someone called Nahed kept telling me it was related to extra insurance which is not refundable (clearly it was not!). Then eventually said it was a deposit but not actually taken from the card (clearly was on my statement with transaction charges), then even though I asked to have the matter escalated, this still did not happen and ignored my requests. I have supplied all statement, copies , charges etc....and still not resolved or spoken to anyone senior. Understand that if you use Opodo, there is no complaints process to escalate anything, the contract you sign may not be followed by third party companies, and they just do not listen or read your emails/complaint! I have never come across a company like this or the employee Nahed who repeatedly does not acknowledge to escalate a problem..... I need to find the regulatory body for this company. Even the CEO does not reply backor get senior management to look into the problems.

“Appalling customer service ”

I booked to go to the States Oct '23 and paid the extra to have Opodo process my ESTA visa for me. 9 1 hour+ phone calls in the 2 weeks before travel chasing them because no one had contacted me for the details I knew they would need to process the application. 2 days before I was due to travel I discovered that they hadn't passed a request onto their 3rd party company who do the visa applications for them - the visa says "allow 72 hours for processing". I ended up doing it all myself including paying for it. I am now regularly chasing my refund and always getting a copy paste "we're dealing with your issue". I don't believe them, it feels like placation in the hope I'll drop it! Absolutely appalling customer service, the stress they caused before my trip was horrendous, star clear if this dreadful company

I had booked two flights and was subscribed to Prime. For some technical reason i could not unsubscribe with the required time frame. I sent them an e mail and within a couple of hours they had unsubscribed me. Thank you and well done

“THE WORST ”

Oh my word. They take your money but when anything goes wrong they say they’re not responsible. Cancelled flight, contact the flight company. Hotel reservations, contact the hotel. I’ve booked with you I said surely that’s your responsibility. No way we are issuing any refunds they said. The worst treatment I’ve ever had the misfortune to encounter. Please do NOT book anything with them.

I used Opodo once but I didn't subscribe for their VIP service, yet I was charged for VIP service twice, once on Sep 8th, 2022, and the other time is Sep 8th, 2023, each time it was 59.99£. I suspect that they have manipulated the system and just taking money from me without sending me any notifications. It took me 1 and a half hours to call them three times. So, the first time put me on hold for one hour, the second time put me on hold for 30 minutes, and the third time I finally reached the second agent who was supposed to be in charge and I demanded a refund but he refused and gave me a voucher instead. This place is untrustworthy. I will never use it again.

Opodo are an awful company. Please dont use them. They tell their customers that the airline has cancelled the flights, when i called the airline the flight hadnt been cancelled. One of their ploys is to ask them to get your money back, they recieve it from the airline and dont return it to you.  Dont use them. Their customer service is really bad too.

In the spring I went to Croatia with a buddy to dive. Also booked via Opodo and when we wanted to print out the boarding passes, 24 hours in advance, we were told that the flight from Lufthansa was 3 days early...(?!) I only heard this from Opodo after I had waited a very long time chatted and queued for hours on the phone. There was no understanding and it seemed rather that they were used to this.. Damage was 1000 euros for a new flight. We are still trying to get it back but the chance is very small. So advise travelers from now on to book through the airlines themselves or through a travel agency. This is to avoid disappointments for other travelers. Trustpilot 1.5 star out of 5 so be warned..

“Do not use this company!”

Not happy with service. Kept calling me a lier and refused to help me. All I want is my refund which the company is liable for as I received NO contact from them to inform me of flight changes.They lie to say they contacted me on my BIRTHDAY March 31st but this is NOT true. No contact was made and NO Email received. I am very upset with this company as they left me stranded in Kathmandu Nepal. I then had to pay another company to get home. I will never book with Opodo again. It even still says that the flight is leaving at 20:20hrs but it left at 18:00hrs! Proof in picture. Would NOT recommend using this company as they will take your money and mess you around just like they did to me and many others. 4 times they changed my flight to Nepal and not once did they tell me about the flight changes for my return flight. All they say is not liable for a refund as part of airline policy. They won't help you. Don't book with these people.

To all British travelers searching the net for a cheap deal, do NOT use Opodo. This company, soon to be wound up, and that is after they have added 33% to the airline price. I have proof what they committed  but their ugly customer service attitude is centered on wearing you down, into giving up a complaint. The authorities are on their tail so dont get stranded abroad like I was. Opodo practice some sort of demonic greed system - openly. #DontGoOpodo - pick a dignified, safe alternative.

“No refund after 10 months and not ATOL protected”

Booked flights and return leg was cancelled in May 2022. Booking status is 'refunded' but I haven't been refunded and am still pursuing £600+ in flight costs. Next step is small claims court, HQ is in Hammersmith London, although parent company eDreams HQ is in Spain. I'm interested to see if I get a standard meaningless apologetic response from Opodo, or if somebody actually looks at my case.

“Don't get sucked in”

When you book a series of international flights you expect baggage to be included for the price displayed, not charged for separately afterwards, especially when you are not told that doing so will incur a charge. Like many companies Opodo employ'Chat Bots' as first-line contacts rather than real people but when you do eventually manage to get through to an actual person you find that the service has been outsourced to India. Not a problem with this but sometimes although the english is impeccable some of the accents are inpenetrable which doesn't help. They also have many customers to deal with at once which means response time is slow and you get the impression they are dragging things out so you'll get annoyed and ring off. Trying to get contact details of Customer Service are nigh on impossible too. If like me you have never used this company before then scroll through their pages and try and find a'Contact Us'address, that you won't be able to speaks volumes of their approach to Customer Service, which sadly is non-existant.

“Avoid at all costs ”

Avoid this company like the plague. I booked return direct flights for 2 from Newcastle to Antalya. 3 days later the airline changed the flight to indirect with stops at Birmingham causing additional 3 hours on flights. I contacted opodo and stated I was not happy with this and would like to cancel. They told me I had to get in touch with the airline to cancel myself but if the airline said I could have a full refund they would give me a full refund of £449.72. I contacted the airline the following day who agreed to cancel and full refund and sent me an email to that effect. I then contacted opodo again and sent them the email from the airline. Opodo said they would refund my full costs but it could take up to 30days. 3 days later I received an email from opodo saying they had received the refund from the airline and would issue me a refund of £377. I called them again to be told that was all they were prepared to refund me but to fill out a complaint form to have them resolve it. I filled out the form and emailed it to them yesterday and received a reply this afternoon stating they would not be refunding their charges only the airlines, I have attached their reply below and will be seeking advice from trading standards. I have never dealt with a more unscrupulous company ever. Dear Customer, First of all, we would like to thank you for contacting Opodo and apologize for the delay in our reply. Your Opodo booking number: ----- We are sorry to hear that you had an unsatisfactory experience with us and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Regarding a refund of the service fee of your booking, we would like to remind you that, according to our general terms and conditions, the service fee is a non-refundable part of the payment. The service fees are charged for the mediation services provided by Opodo, which are deemed to have been fulfilled upon confirmation of the booking. As a result, we are unable to issue a refund of the fees. We hope you understand that the fees are non-refundable. For further questions we are happy to help you. We are at your disposal for any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. Thank you again for contacting Opodo Kind regards

“Can't get a refund on an overcharge that appears to be...”

I had aways found them legit in the past, but now they are part of eDreams, Opodo appear to operate a sham. I recently bought Ryanair flights through Opodo as a Prime member, so expected it to be ‘discounted’. It appeared to be but I discovered after paying, and once I'd received the Ryanair flight confirmation, that Opodo had themselves charged me for baggage and seats again even though I’d clearly already got those - as detailed in the Ryanair flight confirmation. Two of Opodo’s online agents gave me the price breakdown (so two different conversations) and these both confirmed my suspicions that I'd been charged twice for bags and seats. However in an email received from Customer Care after I complained, they'd tweaked the breakdown they sent me to hide the double charge. It was clear that tracks were being covered and even when I sent them screenshots of the price breakdown details confirmed in writing by online agents and by Customer Care, they have refused to refund the overcharge. All correspondence was copied to the CEO of eDreams and was ignored.

“Avoid Opodo at all costs”

Don't make the mistake of thinking Opodo will actually help solve travel issues. I booked a return flight & 4 night hotel stay city break then the airline cancelled the outward flight with 48hrs left. This still gave plenty of time to find a new flight and reduce the hotel stay to 3 days but it appears that Opodo are incapable of doing anything. Prime membership just means you get through to someone more quickly...who will do absolutely nothing, I was told that I had to wait 48hrs for an email for alternative flights. Called again after 24hrs then 36hrs then 48hrs no email, no progress, just told to 'wait 48hrs'. Gave up, called the airline and rearranged my flight. Also contacted the hotel but unfortunately they needed Opodo to contact them - no chance, at least I could let them know I was coming and not cancel our room. After returning from the 3 day trip for the same price as 4 days my Opodo account still advised "The airline has cancelled your flight.....Within 48 hours, we’ll send you an email with alternatives for your cancelled flights". Good luck with that, don't ever use this company.

Opodo Worse than useless Your non existent triaging of urgent time sensitive flight mods was worse than useless. your chat bot who can only perform 8 chats - worse than useless. Contractibility to resolve urgent problems when they occur -worse than useless. Honestly, steer clear.

I really wouldn't recommend using Opodo. I'll never use them again. Better going direct or using a more reputable agent. If you do use them you should get a confirmation email but good luck on getting Etickets sent. Transaction would take a few days to show up on your statement. If you have to phone them is costs 10p minute and you'll be on the phone for ages. Avoid them if I were you.

When we booked; an e-mail was sent about our booking within an hour. Our booking was not with the same airline ( return flight was with a different airline). Because of that there was an issue with Opodo. Opodo sent an e-mail (2 hours after the first e mail of confirmation) saying that they cannot gaurantee the return flight and have therefore cancelled the return flight only. About: transaction appearing online; it does not appear immediately though your statement will show money has gone. You have to go to your bank or call the bank to check exactly what is happening. You might not see one big transaction ; it might be split. Hope this helps

don't even think of going near Opodo - I had an Easyjet flight cancelled, Easyjet refunded Opodo immediately and Opodo have not refunded me (€272,-)after many emails and many international phone calls. Buy directly from the airline!

I would not buy anything with Opodo. You may not receive any confirmation email while your card is charged. The last time I used that very bad site, I received any email saying that I would receive my electronic plane ticket. After 7 days, several emails and phone calls, I hadn't received anything. They don't answer phone calls and don't reply emails. So frustating! TO BE AVOIDED
