Written on: 12/04/2006 by SheHen23 (1 review written)

We had two very different experiences of the Legoland theme park. We went when Legoland first opened and we were very disappointed. For a Theme park that promotes itself as a family attraction, there was actually very little suitable for very small children. However, we went last year and had a great time. There were more rides, and of course our children are much older now, but what really made it special was the Star Wars theme to promote the latest film. The park was full of actors… Read Full Review

Legoland is a great day out for all the family. The Lego City is amazing. All the rides will keep kids entertained. We didn't get to go on some of the new rides, but they looked amazing, so we will definitely be going back another time to ride the newer ones we missed out on… Read Full Review

Written on: 19/09/2005 by bobcats (1 review written)

Legoland is fairly small and feels very crowded when it gets busy. We went on a Sunday and it was packed. On average I would say it takes about 40 minutes to queue for a ride. The thing is that the rides only last about 1-1/2 minutes.
Also beware of the sweet shop. It is mega expensive I bought my 2 girls a small handful of pick n mix (which is all they sell in the shop)for on the way home and I nearly passed out when the guy at the counter told me the price.£6.50 an amazing rip off… Read Full Review

Chilmark's Response to bobcats's Review

Yes I have to agree the place is a total disgrace we stood in a queue for an hour to get in eventually got in at 11am. Even with vouchers to get 2 kids,it cost us £96 which was for 3 kids and 2 adults once in they have a captive market charging £2.50 for a bottle of coke £3.00 a hot dog. Other than the JCB diggers which we queued 40 minuets for went on no rides due to the immense waiting times. We waited an hour and a half to go on the roller coaster and in the end just gave up estimating around another 30-40 mins before we would get on. You can of course get a pre-arranged time for each ride but guess what they want an extra £10 for this. Although the model villages were very impressive. I came away feeling that I and my family had been completely ripped off

I agree with this review because...
<br/>I took my family to legoland yesterday (a sunday) after waiting all summer for a good day. Very crowded but that was expected. We went on only four rides. the stuff they really wanted to go on such as bungee trampolening and goldmining were additional charges, even the driving licences cost &pound;5 each and they'd been really excited about those so I had to get them. Cost us &pound;170 to get in (2 adults 4 children), to have a really good time we would have had to hire the qbots at &pound;10 per person so we would have needed a good &pound;250 extra to spend as food and drinks were complete daylight robbery. We went to mcdonalds on way home. I am starting a crusade to discourage people from going!

“I took my daughter to Legoland on her 8th Birthday...”

Written on: 08/08/2005 by cydara (1 review written)

I took my daughter to Legoland on her 8th Birthday today. £46 for the 2 of us...which is outrageous. I know you can get discounts online , but I was too late to get them for her birthday and this basic gate price is appalling. Every shop has many more boys lego than girls...who`s only option is clikits. The food is extremely expensive for what it is. I get annoyed when I`ve already paid a fortune to get in and then simple things like after ride photos are over priced. My daughter wanted her… Read Full Review

It cost us £92 for 2 adults and 2 children - what a rip-off! There's a lot of walking to do for a start and it's on a hill which is not too easy on young children. We started at the middle of the park where the Lego models are. We should have started at the bottom and worked our way up. The queues are very long in August - we queued for nearly 2 hours to go on the Jungle roller-coaster and it lasted less than one minute! Needless to say we gave up after that and left the park. The only good thing about Legoland is the view from the top of the park! We passed carparks A, B, C which were full to bursting, got to carpark D which was nearly full - and it was only 11am! We should have followed the exit signs instead of wasting all that money.

Legoland is a place that maybe you need to go to once. The first time we went we thought it was great. The second time it was a little boring. The queues are very long and if the weather is not good, the kids water park area cannot be enjoyed. You do not need 2 days tho!!!… Read Full Review

We have been to Legoland Windsor many times now and we travel from the north east so it must be good.
Staff are always very friendly and the park is very clean, rides great for kids of all ages. We took my son when he was 2 and he went on most rides, and my 9 year old loved all the rides too worth a visit… Read Full Review

Written on: 21/08/2004 by enterprize (1 review written)

We love Legoland. This is the third year we have bought season tickets. It is well worth upgrading your day ticket to a season ticket. You only need to go twice to break even.
My daughter is nearly 6; she loves the shows they put on. The puppet show & the stunt show.
The rides are very good for young children, Merry-go-round, Boat rides, Driving school, Train plus many others. Some times in the summer the queues do tend to get long. The longest I have ever queued was just over an hour for the… Read Full Review

Although it rained the day we were at Legoland, this kept the crowds down and we filled the day, although buying a two day ticket would've been unnecessary.
Most food in this country is mediocre and it was neither better nor worse than expected.
The live action show round the pool was entertaining… Read Full Review

“We visited Legoland for a seven year olds birthday...”

Written on: 08/07/2004 by philipdrury (3 reviews written)

We visited Legoland for a seven year olds birthday treat; it's not cheap for a family day out! The staff were complacent, playing on their mobiles whilst supposedly monitoring the queues. The queuing systems was poor and again mis-managed making it very difficult to get on any of the most popular rides (I'm talking November here, not a peak period). Another instance of mis-management was when all food and drink outlets were closed for a firework display which meant masses of people were… Read Full Review
