Go to Paultons Park rather than Legoland as it is much much better for the under 10s.

“Take your own food and drinks to Legoland, and don't...”

Take your own food and drinks to Legoland, and don't touch the shops! On a quiet day the park is great for under tens. On a sunny day when it is a busy day like yesterday, it's a 40 minute wait for a 3 minute ride. The retailing side of the park borders on sharp practice. We bought a Lego game for £20 which did not work. We have now waited in 3 queues. Staff have all said they are unable to give refunds without management approval. We are still waiting and in the meantime we have bought the product from Argos 30% cheaper.

Legoland is fairly small and feels very crowded when it gets busy. We went on a Sunday and it was packed. On average I would say it takes about 40 minutes to queue for a ride. The thing is that the rides only last about 1-1/2 minutes.
Also beware of the sweet shop. It is mega expensive I bought my 2 girls a small handful of pick n mix (which is all they sell in the shop)for on the way home and I nearly passed out when the guy at the counter told me the price.£6.50 an amazing rip off.

Yes I have to agree the place is a total disgrace we stood in a queue for an hour to get in eventually got in at 11am. Even with vouchers to get 2 kids,it cost us £96 which was for 3 kids and 2 adults once in they have a captive market charging £2.50 for a bottle of coke £3.00 a hot dog. Other than the JCB diggers which we queued 40 minuets for went on no rides due to the immense waiting times. We waited an hour and a half to go on the roller coaster and in the end just gave up estimating around another 30-40 mins before we would get on. You can of course get a pre-arranged time for each ride but guess what they want an extra £10 for this. Although the model villages were very impressive. I came away feeling that I and my family had been completely ripped off

I agree with this review because...
<br/>I took my family to legoland yesterday (a sunday) after waiting all summer for a good day. Very crowded but that was expected. We went on only four rides. the stuff they really wanted to go on such as bungee trampolening and goldmining were additional charges, even the driving licences cost &pound;5 each and they'd been really excited about those so I had to get them. Cost us &pound;170 to get in (2 adults 4 children), to have a really good time we would have had to hire the qbots at &pound;10 per person so we would have needed a good &pound;250 extra to spend as food and drinks were complete daylight robbery. We went to mcdonalds on way home. I am starting a crusade to discourage people from going!

“I took my daughter to Legoland on her 8th Birthday...”

I took my daughter to Legoland on her 8th Birthday today. £46 for the 2 of us...which is outrageous. I know you can get discounts online , but I was too late to get them for her birthday and this basic gate price is appalling. Every shop has many more boys lego than girls...who`s only option is clikits. The food is extremely expensive for what it is. I get annoyed when I`ve already paid a fortune to get in and then simple things like after ride photos are over priced. My daughter wanted her lego driving license after going on the driving test and it was £3.99 plus 50p for the holder. I got that one but if I had got any more photos it would easily have been a £75 plus day for the two of us. The queues were very long which we expected in August , but there wasn`t even any music to help you daydream.....boring...very boring. The staff were so laid back...they really couldn`t give a monkeys...it took them far too long to load the rides and they were not really the animated bunch you get elsewhere. The only decent ride was the dragon coaster...the other coasters are jerky and not fun.....I`ve been all over the world and I am always amazed at the lack of comfort on UK coasters. I really don`t know how they justify the money...I feel ripped off.

It cost us £92 for 2 adults and 2 children - what a rip-off! There's a lot of walking to do for a start and it's on a hill which is not too easy on young children. We started at the middle of the park where the Lego models are. We should have started at the bottom and worked our way up. The queues are very long in August - we queued for nearly 2 hours to go on the Jungle roller-coaster and it lasted less than one minute! Needless to say we gave up after that and left the park. The only good thing about Legoland is the view from the top of the park! We passed carparks A, B, C which were full to bursting, got to carpark D which was nearly full - and it was only 11am! We should have followed the exit signs instead of wasting all that money.

“We visited Legoland for a seven year olds birthday...”

We visited Legoland for a seven year olds birthday treat; it's not cheap for a family day out! The staff were complacent, playing on their mobiles whilst supposedly monitoring the queues. The queuing systems was poor and again mis-managed making it very difficult to get on any of the most popular rides (I'm talking November here, not a peak period). Another instance of mis-management was when all food and drink outlets were closed for a firework display which meant masses of people were huddled in one area of the park in the cold and dark with no refreshments or seating for the elderly and young children.
When we finally left the park at the end of the day, the train was overloaded by staff members who had no regard for safety - we had no option but to wait for trains as the park lights had been dimmed to almost nothing, ridiculous if your child were to wander away as you would never find them!
We complained about our day, one of the directors accused us of making up our complaint - despite the fact we were supported by many other visitors.
Never again!!!!
