I am a carer for a visually impaired lady. Yesterday, she bought some very nice looking boots from Shoe Zone for a party and when she later got them home she found them to be faulty. I took her back to the store to get them exchanged only to be told that the Supervisor was out of the store (and would be about an hour) and no-one else can do refunds or exchanges. We could not wait an hour as she has school age children and could not return to town unaided let alone with 3 children in tow. I had to reschedule some meetings to take her back to Shoe Zone today and the staff were rude and unhelpful. We did get them exchanged but the party was last night hence she could not wear her new purchase. VERY DISAPPOINTING

“Poor quality shoes, rude staff”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 22/09/2011

I went here in a desperate attempt last minute, to get my daughter some school shoes that actually fit her, shes a huge size 7, we were very impressed at the style of the shoes and variety and were really pleased with the price, she wore them to school for 1 day, knelt down on the carpet at assembley stood up and the whole front of the shoe had peeled away from the under fabric, she was so embarrassed. We took them back to shoe zone in wednesfield today and explained to the lady there, she was so rude and said my daughter had scuffed them up through wear and tear, she called us liars and argued with us rolling her eyes, anyone would think she'd made the shoes herself she was so defensive not helpful at all, she said that my daughter must have worn them for a long time ( we'd brought 2 pairs 3 weeks ago and she'd only just worn the second pair for the first time) my hubby stood his ground as she said it was not a fault with the shoe but wear and tear, she would only exchange not refund, its NOT acceptable, we feel these shoes are substandard quality only fit to be worn by my 6 month old as pram shoes!! I will never be buying from this store again and would certainly not recommend the shoes for daily wear, its a real shame that the styles dont match up to the quality, shoe zone need to put there staff through customer care courses rude!...

written by on 26/10/2010

I visited the shoe zone in christchurch on Monday and i will never shop there again. The lady (if i can call her that) was so rude to me my mum and my disabled daughter. My daughter who is disabled wanted a pair of size 3 boots seeing there was only one on the display I went to the counter. The person behind the counter said "the other ones with it", i returned to look but could not find it. We went back to the counter and the person was serving someone else, she said "i will look in aminute". My mum just asked what did the lady say and the cashier said"i said I wlll look in a minute im serving someone" (in an agressive tone). My mum said sorry i was only asking my daughter what you said. When she had finished serving she looked outside the back, on the stand. out the front and on her way into the back she said sorry must be odd one".
So so rude. You lost a sale there.

I have the condition Plantar Fasciitis and these sandals are comfortable for me to wear. I have worn them all summer! I have today purchased another different pair of Walk Easy sandals as I am going on holiday and need more than one pair of comfortable sandals. They are excellent value for money even at the much higher price than I paid that they are now.

shoes are cheap.service was very good and the staff were friendly and helpful.ive never had a problem with my local store.ive bought for myself and my children and havent had problems with the shoes ive purchased.i think they sell too much black and would like to see more choice with the styles they sell.they should sell more leather, most of their shoes are man made.apart from a few bad points i would recommend shopping there.

written by on 09/03/2010

THE SHOES THAT I PURCHASED WERE BRILLIANT AS THEY WERE JUST TO WEAR GOING OUT I HAVE HAD THEM NOW FOR GOING ON 2 YEARS,I RECENTLY WENT IN TO SEE WHAT WAS ON OFFER, THE ONLY DOWN SIDE WAS THAT I WENT TO THE SHOP IN ROTHERHAM TOWN CENTRE AND WAS AMAZED AT HOW MUCH YOU COULD BE IGNORED IN ONE STORE AS A PAYING CUSTOMER. THE STAFF WERE MORE CONCERNED WITH THEIR CHAT ABOUT ANOTHER MEMBER OF STAFF THAN THEY ABOUT THE STORE ITSELF. BAD FOR CUSTOMER SERVICES BUT GOOD QUALITY. I THINK I WILL STICK TO THE MEADOWHALL STORE MUCH MORE PLEASANT ENVIROMENT. IF THEY HAD A BETTER SIZE FOR ME WAS ALL I WANTED TO KNOW

I found this review not helpful because...My daughter and fiance purchased me a lovely pair of boots for my 45th birthday and paid almost £30.00. I wore them only 1 time to a meeting at the nursery where I work as Depute Head in paisley, scotland, Their appears to be a fault near the buckle area and would roll over onto pavement when walking. I returned them to the store in paisley on 7th May, 2010 and advised to bring back to the Manager who was out at the time or on annual leave, I have just come out of hospital myself after a gyneo operation and managed to get to shoe zone and advised I should wait for the manager as she is only authorised to do exchanges/refunds. My boots are realy nice but after wearing them only 1 time I feel they should be longer than that purchased in April and worn once at a night out at work then took back and advised to return when manageress was available, took into hospital and when Ive gone back I found the manageress to be slightly polite non apologetic and said i should contact Shoe Zone Ltd, Humberstone Road, Leicester LE1 2LH, the store number is 1504. The product code for my boots are 18-214. They cost £29.99 and my daughter obviously discarded the receipt as I had them on at her engagement party in April. I would like your feedback on your policy as their were none in the actual shop near the till, stating any formal policy which i have seen in other shops where I shop and online, the manageress did not aologise on behalf of the company where i see that as a weakness in a training aspect, but she did emphasise that if i got a response by sendin you an email or letter then she would change them for me as I really like them and they are very comfortable. I look forward to hearing from you.

The shoes in shoe zone look cosmetically good, but wear them and you should know they will only last 2-3 months before they are knackered and worse than that after only a month they start to smell very very bad on the inside. Ihave never had a problem like this with any other shoe but the three pairs of shoe zone shoes i have bought all had this problem. utter garbage as products and they also provide very very poor support to the sole and u end up getting blisters.

On the 28th of Feb I bought two pairs of trainers for my 7 year old. After 4 weeks of wearing one pair for school they split across the toe on both shoe. I took them back to Shoe Zone in Chippenham as I didnt have my receipt the assistant called the manager to assess them. She quite bluntly told me my son had "hammered them" and as such would not refund or replace. I explained to her that if my son had hammered the shoes they would be worn on the soles and scuffed on the toe these trainers had hardly any wear marks at all. Only when I asked for the customer services number did she replace them for an identical pair with out giving me the option of an alternative. She did not give me the number as requested and also said she would not replace them if it happened again as there have been no other complaints about that particular style. She ended by saying they might have become stiff and cracked if they got wet I hardly think your shoes are designed to stay dry all the time this is England! The trainers that were faulty are style 80293 size 2.

Shoe Zone is a shop that I would not recommend. I feel that the shoes I have purchased from there are of poor quality. I find they have been worn out really quickly, I would rather buy good quality footwear even if it is expensive. Also, on my visit I did not find the staff I dealt with very helpful.

written by sally albarella on 16/04/2007

I took a pair of school shoes back to the WELLINGBOROUGH SHOP. The shoes had come apart, and I only had the shoes roughly two months, and I could not believe that this had happened.

The manager of the Shoe Zone shop was very unhelpful, and did not want to know, and would not replace the shoes. She left the two sales assistant to deal with the problem.

I said that if this had been John Lewis, there would be no problem, and the shoes would have been replaced, or a refund would have been given. None of these had been offered to me, and my poor son has no school shoes.

If anyone from Shoe Zone reads this review, I would be grateful if they would sort out the problem. If they want to contact me, they can leave a comment.

I fail to see why they would only get one out of ten for the layout of the shop, and two out of ten for value for money. You say you purchased the shoes for school and only had them for a couple of months. If we took a typical month of four weeks, and your son goes to school five days a week, then he would have worn the shoes for forty days. And if he only walked to school for half a mile and walked around the school and played in them for only one mile, then he would have had eighty miles of use in these shoes. As you state you paid £12.00 for these shoes, this equates to 30 pence a day and 15 pence a mile. To me that is good value. Also, if you know that John Lewis is a soft touch with their refund policy, why did you not shop there in the first place? I forgot to mention about the young girls in the shop; unless Shoe Zone are flouting employment regulations, I would imagine that these two girls are over the age of 16, and if that is the case, there is nothing wrong with leaving two girls in the shop.

written by shelly87 on 10/11/2004

I would totally recommend SHOE ZONE to anyone who would like a pair of nice, comfortable and in fashion shoes, not only are their prices cheap but they cater for all ages and all sizes from a baby size 4 to a men's size 12 not all shoe shops do this. SHOE ZONE also have easy walk footwear for the elderly people and they don't try and rip them off with the price last time I went in there the most expensive item I saw were the slouch boots at £24.99 and even that is cheaper than some other places I been to, every time I go into SHOE ZONE there is always a welcoming smile coming from the people who work their they are always dressed smartly and always offer their help when needed, not many people have manners these days but SHOE ZONE definitely put their customers first. I would highly recommend them to anyone and everyone.

This shop has lots of shoes but they seem to be the same styles and colours (ie black formal shoes). The quality isn't that good but I'd recommend it if you wanted, for example, a pair of cheap comfortable shoes for work or school which you knew weren't going to last long.

Not much variation and the quality isn't that good but this is reflected in the prices.

I recently bought a pair of shoes from stratford shoezone and when I asked if my receipt counted as my guarantee I was told that there was no guarantee and that I could only bring back my shoes in the course of a year if I had not worn them!! When I asked about my statutory rights I was asked where I was born! when I said london they said to me they could not belive I was so polite!! I do not think this was racist but it seems they did not want to talk about my statutory rights. I left the shop no wiser about what I can do if I wear the shoes I bought and the soles or heels fall do not last a month. Can anyone advise please?
