The customer Service is so appalling - if you decide to sign up with BT Mobile pray nothing goes wrong!

BT Mobile are a relatively new network and have had, therefore, a few teething problems.
I recently connected to BT Mobile last month and last night, I noticed that my phone had only "limited service" available. I called them up this morning to find that they had, for no reason, terminated my contract. They are now attempting to reconnect me but I am facing a great deal of trouble re: potentially losing my existing mobile number and having to set up a new contract (this is a hassle because I will now lose my Carphone Warehouse redemption deal). However, on the up side, reception is good and service is friendly - I'm not sure what the other reviewers are talking about when they say they are taking a long time to connect. I try to call at 8am and always get through immediately.

I needed a new phone as my Nokia 8210 started playing up. Searched around and BT mobile seemed to be the cheapest. Got a Sony T610 with the deal. I pay £9.99 for 1st 6 months and then £25 for next 6 months. By sending the 6 and 12 monthly bills I get a rebate of approx £75 each time. Works out at approx £5 per month. Just hope they honour these rebates.
I've yet to be sent a bill although my bank account has been debited. 5 weeks after using the service contacted BT. They said they would send another copy. Requested a copy of bill again. This time they checked the address. All okay. Bill resent and did not arrive. On the 4th time they noticed that the address was wrong on their billing database (There wasn't a problem with the address when the handset was sent!). So hopefully should receive a copy of the bill soon.

BT Mobile have just such horrible customer service that I don't know where to start. Been on hold for up to an hour.

All BT Mobile contracts offer free quick calls home - which is great with teenagers (no worries about running out of credit). Many great phones available free of charge, so can work out cheaper than "pay as you go", because call costs are cheaper. You can get text alerts to monitor usage, and you can bar premium rate & international calls. They have some good deals on giving credit on your landline bills at the moment. Pre-purchased text/voice bundles are good value (texts are 6p each), and the whole family can share them - and you can alter your package each month.
There is no online account management (as with a BT Landline), but they tell me this will happen spring 2005). Customer service call answering times used to be poor, but now it is very quick.

BT Mobile have given poor service ever since I signed up for a new phone with them just over a month ago. I signed up for the 100 mins + 50 texts service at £9.99 per month (4.99 FOR 1ST 6MONTHS - this turns out to be a messy cashback offer) and the phone failed to turn up. It seems the order was misplaced! OK so I replace the order and it arrives 2 days later, so we plug it in and it takes over a day to connect to the BT network. So it seems all is OK until the 1st bill arrives and I have been billed for ALL calls and texts nothing was free! So I immediately ring BT mobile customer service, to be told someone would look into this, and call me back, but no-one does, I call again saying I want a new bill, and then it's suggested I cancel the direct debit. A few more days go past and still nothing happens and then I call BT mobile billing again and get no help and then the phone is disconnected, why "Because the bill has not been paid " so I argue saying, "It was wrong and I was waiting for a new bill" but no we have to pay it otherwise the phone will stay disconnected and no new bill can be issued. Totally ineffective customer service
DONT USE BT MOBILE is all I can say!

Porting my number to BT Mobile took ages, BT Mobile opened two accounts in my name - one for a phone/SIM I'd never seen let alone had or activated. They continue to try to charge me for two accounts despite my repeated efforts by phone, email and by post to get them to correct their errors. They have now cut off my phone despite my account (for the only phone I have) being in good standing throughout the duration of my contract.
I have written to the Chairman of BT, I have told them I will charge for the time I spend trying to get them to correct their mistakes, I am going to get a phone on a different network this morning and cancel my direct debit to BT.
I absolutely do not recommend taking out a contract with BT. Go with absolutely anyone else - they can't be worse.

Was first placed on wrong tariff, then BT Mobile overcharged me £60 which they STILL owe me. Customer services is ALWAYS busy avg. wait = 40 mins. DON'T SIGN UP FOR THIS NETWORK. YOU WILL REGRET IT IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG.

BT Mobile - Managed to get my number ported. Have complained about the service via e-mail (actually speaking to someone is nigh on impossible!) Received an e-mail saying it would be done in 2-3 days. 5 Days later I sent another e-mail, another 2-3 days... Sent THIRD e-mail of complaint, then phoned up. Waited 20 minutes for someone to answer, before being told it was being 'looked into now.'
Also, have a problem with voice mail, in that I can't access it. Am currently on hold for fourth time, having been unable to speak to anyone the first 3 times. I wonder if anyone even works there!

I agree with Chrismk. I am a BT mobile customer and I wish I had seen your complaint before I joined BT mobile.

I was cut-off from the BT mobile network for one and a half months and BT agreed to refund me for the cost of using a pay as you go during that time. They never refunded me and instead charged me the rental cost for that period.

In addition, the first 2 months of my contract, I was charged for a number I never had and this lasted for almost 3 months before they agreed to refund me.

On going from my complaints, BT Mobile offered me a free months line rental. This was back at the beginning of September. I've just found that they never applied it!
I have now asked them to release me from hell... sorry, I meant their contract!

BT Mobile give poor service, I am now being told it'll take 10 days to port accross my old phone number, even though it was turned off my old phone days ago. Have been lied to (was told it would be moved up the list and done by 5.30 yesterday) and generally fobbed off. Apparantly they're 'inundated'. I suggest using a less over-worked supplier.

Agree with the bad service, spent all morning trying to talk to a BT rep, just keep getting cut off. Avoid BT Mobile, not worth the hassle.
