Went to a lady at the Plainfield, IL Hair Cuttery yesterday, October 26th. Was pouring rain all day, and had a rustic wedding to go to that evening. She did an amazing job, gave me lots of volume and beautiful spiral curls. Sprayed on enough hairspray, that even outside in the pouring rain (had an umbrella but wind still blows rain at you), my hair was good all night. Now today, my curls are looser, but still very pretty! Go to the person I dealt with. She listens to what you want, and pays attention to detail!

Stay away from Hair Cuttery in Dunedin Fl. My daughter walked in at 6:30 p.m. and asked for a hair wash, hot iron & trim. The hairdresser told her she should have called first because they close at 8:00, although she had NO other customers. She complained to my daughter that her hair was too thick and hard to work with. The only other employee there (assume he was the manager) was outside smoking and came in and heard the hairdresser complaining. He told her in front of my daughter that she did NOT have to make an appt. and they take walk-ins any time before closing. He proceeded to work on one side of my daughters hair while the other hairdresser did the other side (each using different products!). My daughter was almost in tears on the way home when she called me. She was embarrassed to say anything because they were telling her that they had never worked on hair as difficult as hers. I am in the Salon business and this is totally UNPROFESSIONAL. STAY AWAY!

decided to try them out as they were having a sale. I knew up front it was not for a "senior stylist" and what that means in a salon as I used to do hair myself. Days before I did my hair I checked them out and found the place clean but the lack of customer service was concerning, but I was feeling desperate. Went in for a color and trim. Stylist was very nice but not knowledgeable, she had to ask the other, "senior", stylist how to mix my color and do my hair. she had to reapply a few times as she didn't make enough and it was drying out and was not evenly applied, leaving gaps in my color. I told her it was burning and she left it on 10 more minutes. She left color in my nape which I washed out next day and the color was Not what I requested. I asked for a dark auburn and got a deep burgundy. Then my haircut. She cut off too much in the length, left the front too long, and nothing was blended together. I have jagged pieces sticking out, long layers on top and bottom and the middle layers are about 1.5 inches shorter, and it's shorter in the back than in the front. All this when I asked for a basic haircut and showed exactly the lengths I wanted. All I can say is at least I was charged half of what I expected to pay because now I have to find a stylist who can try to fix my color and haircut. Not even in training have I received a cut so bad. I will Not be suggesting this salon or chain of salons to anyone.

I called Hair Cuttery and unfortunately my normal stylist no longer works there. I go to Hair Cuttery in Carpentersville and tell them I want the color escape which is $75 for hair cut and hair dye. The stylist I told this to and ended up having as other stylists are busy. She tells me that she is going to leave the dye on for 20 minutes, and come back and pull the rest of it through for another 20 minutes. I'm like ok, had this done before. Imagine my surprise when I go to pay for it and its $20.00 more. I questioned this and was told by her that pulling hairdye through is extra charge. I said I didn't get charged before from other stylists, and was not informed by her that it would be an extra charge. She tells me the other hair stylist didn't charge then but I have to pay today. I feel that this is a rip off to charge more. If I knew this I would have gone to a different beauty shop.

Went to the High Pointe Commons location on a Sunday and met her. She is awesome with her advice and techniques! I have not been happy with a haircut in the last 4 years and she had me wanting to take selfies all the way home. I will definitely be back and ask for her again!

I went in the Somerset NJ salon for a 'trim', and should have walked out. the Indian 'stylist' had absolutely no clue what she was doing. One side of my hair lays right, but the other side sticks out, because one side is cut completely different, and there isn't anything I can do about it, except try and get some type of hair glue until it grows some. I had to come back to have her angle & layer the back towards the bottom, as she didn't do it right the first time. Then after I got home, I still had to fix it myself. I was in there once last year (I should've known better, Right?), and had noticed a 100% turnover of people..........what does THAT tell you about that suckie place! btw, it doesn't even deserve ONE star!

Haymarket location..I have only had one decent experience and it was with a young girl fresh out of school. Otherwise you are rushed through, pushed to buy products and the best yet they make up prices as they go. They spend more time looking around their shop than they do looking at the head of the person whose hair they are cutting. By the way we are in America. .lets try proper English. Never again!!!

I went to the Middletown / Red Bank NJ location about 3weeks ago. I had a nice bob which needed a trim. I blow dry it straight in the morning. I started to tell the stylist I wanted to go a bit shorter but never got to tell her because she had it in her head to cut my hair into layers. She put a layer around the top of my head all around which sticks out from the rest of my hair. She cut off the two front sides so I can't even pull it back to hide the terrible cut. My hair grows slowly so I guess I have to look like this for a while. I am so unhappy.

I will not ever go back to any Hair Cuttery ever again. After going to the Fox Mill Reston, VA location, I brought in a photo to show the stylist. It was a very basic cut, a short basic bob all around. The women there were chattering away in their Asian language, which by the way is rather rude. At first one lady was going to cut my hair but after the animated chattering in their language, they had another stylist do it instead. Stylist "G" seemed rather hesitant but I didn't believe they would have inexperienced people cutting and styling hair. When she was done, she had my hair all fluffed up and blow dried. It looked ok, I didn't think it was great or anything but it was deceiving. A day later when I went to wash my hair, that's when I got a better look at what she did. She butchered my hair, it's a mess, it's hideous, I WILL NOT GO back there and recommend people stay away from HC's, especially the Fox Mill Reston one. Now I'm going to have to wait a couple months for this mess to grow out a bit and go elsewhere and hope that a more competent hair stylist will be able to fix this mess made by "G" who really should not be cutting anyone's hair. Either she needs to go back to school or she just isn't cut out to be a hair stylist. I now know from others that Hair Cuttery salons are the worst place to go. I am so angry and infuriated the more I look at my hair and see what a mess that horrid and wretched incompetent hair stylist made of my hair, the more I should go back and rip her a new one. She really should see what it looks like and she should not be messing with hair cuts. I wouldn't trust her to groom my dog! What incompetence. NEVER EVER AGAIN. DO NOT GO THERE. Waste of money and your hair will get butchered.

The girl who cut my hair said she's been doing it for 6 years. REALLY? Could've fooled me! She was painfully SLOW, and appeared to really not know what she was doing. the hair 'style' she gave me looked absolutely awful when she finished. I tried to have her fix it, but left it very uneven. So I went back AGAIN to get it fixed. This time the franchise owner cut it, which was much better, that actually looked and felt good. When I needed another cut and my roots done, I went back to the franchise owner. The color was too dark and dull which wasn't complimentary to my face at all! She also assumed that I wanted my hair style to look the same way it did when I walked in. I only had it that way because the top was too long to do anything else with. I tried to tell her the top of my hair will curl, but she just made like she didn't hear it, and continued on. I hated how it looked this last cut. She gave me the 'rounded' look, with very little shaping which doesn't look good on anyone. I had to go elsewhere for a foiling to bring the color back up, and a nice layer that works WITH my hair. I will never go back there again, and don't recommend anyone else with curly/wavy hair to go there either.

4/14/14 I came here after last place gave me 2 bad hair cuts. Looking for a new aalon I was open minded despite last bad experience. The stylist was friendly, nice. She seemed new maybe intern or just out of college.She consulted the manager on color selection but did not consult me! My blond color is now 2 shades darker! Then when the stylist was cutting my hair I explained what I wanted & she acted as if she didn't know what I was talking about. She took a small piece of hair & did a little snip on the end. she did this 3 times on the right side. Then blow dried my hair. I said did you cut the other side. So she did the same thing a small piece of hair & a little snip. Finally as the manager walked out of her office I asked her to please check the layers. This was very hard for me to do. But I wasn't going to pay any amount of $ for what this girl was doing. So the manager started cutting the way I explained. The stylist did watch. By the time manager was done cutting she cut the style but the length was too short. $69 I will never go back & I have to live with this color for 3-4 months. But I won't need a hair for while either. Very 1st time I gave $0 tip

The man at salon #1907 in Ft Lauderdale on 01/07/14 at 3:30 cut my hair better than anyone. I am a 46 year old female and happy with results and compliments! I hope this employee#20586 will always be there.

Willow Grove, PA This place is just awful. I agree with the previous review - the whole place is unsanitary. Chipped paint, used combs, unclean scissors .... just awful. I had my hair cut by Claire - young girl, very pale, blonde. I get my hair cut straight (no layers, nothing special, very simple) but it took her normally 2 hours to complete. I have shoulder-length hair and I was only getting about an inch taken off. Complete waste of time! To top things off, she interrupted my hair cut 10+ times to carry on a conversation with another hairdresser. She then asked that I part my own hair (in the center nonetheless) AND comb it after she washed my hair. I could not wait to get out of there. The whole place gave me the heebie-jeebies. When i got home I realized how bad my haircut was (it was quite crooked) and immediately went to a local salon to get it redone. DO. NOT. GO. HERE.

this place this horrible they took my money and messed up my hair and now I have to go and pay another shop to fix my hair my advice is not to even consider going to hair cuttery on smith ave.

I made an appointment to get a hair cut for my two children. I arrived at the salon 5 minutes prior to my appointment time. The stylist told me to wait a little bit and then she went to have a cigarette outside. Ten minutes later, she came in and said that she is ready. On top of it, she did a horrible job with one of my son's hair. DO NOT GO to the Skokie, IL location. The stylists there are not professional, have little consideration for people's time, rude, and clearly not good at what they do.

I have long very thick dark hair. I went in to this place for a simple trim. What was done to my hair was a disaster. The woman who cut my hair cut inches off and gave me the worst layers I have ever seen. She just kept cutting and clearly did not know what she was doing. When I told her that I hated what she did, basically I eneded up with a mullet, she called another woman over and asked her if there was anything she could do to fix it. There was no way in hell I was going to let another one of these people touch my hair. I felt scalped and it was awful. The laughable thing was that they turned to me and said, "We won't charge you." Yeah? No kidding! I was able to get my wonderful hair dresser at home to come to my resue today and I have a sweet bob for the summer-not what I wanted originally, but 100 times better than what the Rehobeth Hair Cuttery did to me. Stay away from this disaster of a salon. THEY SUCK!!!

Do not go to the hair cuttery in ponte vedra beach florida if you want a haircut. I called ahead of time to set an apointment, they said its only walkins and there are 2 people waiting. when i get there they say they are all booked up for the night. so i leave and call the next day to make an appt and they say they are walk ins only.
