I had this TV for some considerable time and slowly (but steadily) over time it has degenerated! I have a random green line down on the far right hand side of the screen as well as a frequent distortion of the screen on the left hand side. The DVD frequently gets stuck and so it sometimes takes frustratingly long to play a film. I would not recommend this TV. Sticking to Japanese brands!

I must have been the luckiest person ever to have bought one of these that did not develop a fault, until 3 days ago. I have had it for approx 4 years ( 37" DMTech LCD tv ).
The picture is just ok, if you don't sit too close. The sound problem was rectified by passing it through a good AV amplifier instead of using the tv speakers. The built-in dvd player broke down within weeks of purchasing it and so a Comet repair person visited. He replaced it but did say that the dvd players always break down due to them being placed at the top as all the heat build-up damages the dvd unit. He assured me that the new one would also fail and, good for his word, it did. I gave up on having it replaced again and bought a seperate dvd player.
This week when the tv was turned on it gave out a large popping noise and the sound failed to work. It is now totally useless as a tv but as the picture is still ok i will use it as a large pc monitor.
In summary, this particular DMTech tv has not been as awful as some others that i have read about. The picture is not very clear and fast action looks blurred. This tv would be ok for the kids bedroom but it is not really a front room tv unless you are on a very very tight budget.
Good luck if you already own one!

Complete waste of money!! The old saying you get what you pay for and yes these TV/DVD's are cheap and awful, DVD player stopped working after about 9 months, sound quality very poor, have to have sound level on 80 to be able to hear programs. Would not recommend. If I won this type of TV in a raffle I would give it back!!

Bought the 17" DMtech built in DVD, well i am on the 3rd one now which was swapped over about 4 years ago the first 2 i had was about 5 years ago and one had a fault after 7 months the screen went blank and same again with the 2nd on, but this third one i have been using for about 4 years without any faults, although i hardly use the DVD on it, and mostly used it on the PC for about 3 years,oh cant believe i paid £500 for it when it was new,I just got 19" logix tft with freeview record, pause live tv and rewind as well and usb function, very good tv so far.so i might be sell the DM Tech now.

This is a smooth blend of value, poor quality, and near dangerous build quality. Turn on at your peril. Probably made by a partially sighted 7 year old lebanese leper.

I bought a DMTECH LT32DTY tv/DVD combo.I would strongly advise not to buy this brand. it has been back to repair twice in first year, channel select freezes so the screen goes blank, sometimes - NO INPUT appears on the screen.Still as bad after so called repair. The remote control needs to be aimed 100% directly at right part of the TV to work, not easy from 10ft away. Noisy DVD player which has now packed in. Wife hates this TV, toddler hates this TV, I hate this TV - what a waste of £700. Should have bought a recognised brand - look forward to throwing it in skip.

bought 2 sets, both have same fault, to expensive to repair as sure to be another fault soon, would never recomend this make of tv , its cost me £500 for large one,£400 for smaller one. £900 on tv,s in just over 2 years, and left with nothing.

Firstly DVD player got stuck. After a few days managed to get it to play again. Now it turns itself off every few minutes. Even tried taking remote out of the room, but the fault still occurs. having read reviews and am unable to get repakired I would not recommend any DMTECH product to anybody.

If you haven't got one you missed out. This is the best 37 1/2 inch tv I have ever seen. The tvs that compare now are going for £1200 and do not even have a dvd player built in. We've connected ample add ons in that we have loaded up sky, the Wii, a PS3 and an old style video/dvd played (video for our 15 year old that still enjoys the disney films she watched aged 3). It has never played up, never let us down and even when sky has gone wrong we have the freeview to watch instead. Updates are easy for the freeview and we get more channels than most of our friends and neighbours get with their freeview and the Picture quality (as a glasses wearer) is bloody brilliant.I'm gutted they are so hard to get in this country now as we want another one but bigger!!!!!

I chose this on the basis of a very favourable review in a TV/HiFi magazine. I can only assume that they only had it a few days, because that's as long as mine lasted.
I returned it to the supplier, that well known worldly pc shop, and they effected a repair that lasted about a fortnight.
Also, the remote control requires a powerful lamp and magnifying glass to be able to see to operate.
Not a make I would ever choose again . . .
. . .not even if it was free ! ! !

We bought a DMTech TV with built in DVD/Freeview. It's packed up after just 2 years. Absolute waste of money. Sound quality was always very poor.

I bought the dmtech 32" tv/dvd combi and was delighted to find out that the dvd was able to record tv programmes onto discs. WELLLLL I have only had it on my wall a week and the dvd has stopped working. It always made a loud whirring noise when playing but i just turned the volume up a bit but the last dvd i put in got stuck so it is now going back for a refund. Wish i had read up on it beforehand.Think i will now stick with a sperate dvd player.

We bought our dm tech tv two years ago, within a week it stopped working completely. We returned it to the shop we bought it from and they said it had to be returned to manufacturers. Two months later they sent us a new one.Now the replacement has completely broken down,it is out of warranty and our local tv repairman tells us it is irrepairable.I would say don`t even consider buying a tv made by this company!!!
